    I removed the seat and placed the deck in the rear. Put a floatation cushion to sit on when I need it. Still have the deck when I want it and have the room to move around

    You definitely hooked the bass raider up with or without the deck it's a fishing machine!!! Like you said some things work for some but not others. I kept my pond prowler basically stock except for my seats and fishfinder. And at the end of the day it's what works best for you. Keep doing what your doing. Can't wait to see some fishing videos

    I think sometimes that people forget these are small plastic boats and have weight limits and limits on the stress these hulls really are designed to withstand.
    Some of the biggest advantages of these boats are they are inexpensive, lightweight, draft very little water so are excellent for getting into really skinny water and are very stable for as small as they are.
    Not to mention they are fairly easy to load and unload in and out of the water and transport.
    Many of the mods people make to these boats trying to turn them into a fully decked out bass boat eliminates the very things that make them such attractive options while at the same time raise the center of gravity and make them much less stable.
    These boats in my opinion left in a more as they come state of operation are where they shine.
    Sure add a more comfortable seat to the factory framework, for flooring some lightweight anti fatigue mats from somewhere like Harbor Freight can be an improvement add your propulsion of choice and a depth finder and take the little plastic boat out and enjoy it for what it is.

    Love your boat. Thanks for the videos. Full disclosure, I didn’t finish this one yet, but just a suggestion, as you said, you’re a big guy and fish off the sides, maybe try a 7” seat height riser…. Good luck!

      I actually put a 7 inch seat riser on. Still have to do a water test. Hopefully it’s not too tippy

    You are not the first one I have seen build a nice deck then pull it off. Others have complained about the loss of stability that high up. I'm 6'2" and have enjoyed having the deck. There are usually two people in the boat so moving between the front and rear hasn't been an issue. I would love to have an outboard like yours. Using the trolling motor to get to and from your fishing spots is a drag. Please keep us posted on any other changes you make. I really enjoy the PBR content. Let me bump you up to 150 subs.

    I have a deck on the front of mine…I’m 6’0 but I don’t have a pedestal seat on the deck, would be too much I think…I tend to fish standing and if I get tired after a few hours I just sit in the seat in the back. Maybe your deck was too long. I tried also with out the deck and I just don’t like fishing sitting down…plus tough to have a good stance standing on the main floor of this boat it’s too narrow.
    Good video bro, if we all liked the same things this would be a dull world 😂

    Been enjoying the vids. Also have a Bass Raider...also decided against the standing platform. But I just might make a mini-platform that fits between the seat rails...maybe a scrap of 2 x 10 or similar lumber with plastic pipe screwed to the bottom, to snap into the seat-rail troughs. You know, just in case I want to get up a few more inches for a better cast, etc, etc...not to hang out on, just for a cast or 2 here and there.

    I wanted to ask how did you make the mount for the outboard engine to keep your transom from flexing?

    I have the same boat. Can’t wait to get it out there but there’s still ice and snow on the way here in New England. I agree the deck isn’t so impactful for us 6+ft guys. I’d rather have the leg room

    Personally I never understood the whole deck thing on a plastic boat but to each their own. That Troll King looks pretty cool. Gona be lookin into that. Nice boat set up!

    • @phils6733
      @phils6733 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have a boat like this I would suggest just giving the deck a chance…just grab a sheet of plywood…if you like standing while fishing a deck is an incredible improvement you can stand and balance much easier.
      But if your like my dad who occasionally comes out with me he loves sitting and fishing 😂

    • @monzsterman
      @monzsterman ปีที่แล้ว

      @@phils6733 I have a Quest Angle 10 which is pretty much the same boat. Sounds like Im more like your dad. The only time I really stand is when I "sight fish" in the shallows but as I have gotten in my old age, balance is not like it use to be. The main reason I got a plastic pontoon boat.

    I have the same motor on a 8'6" Sundolphin Sportsman. How much did the 5 horse carburetor upgrade help and did you really need the transom brace?

    Zoffinger Channel also has some good ideas for using seat-backs for standing platforms...possibilities are endless. Have fun, and looking forward to an on the water of you using the Troll-King seated and standing.
    BTW, the offset seat idea was such an easy fix, but You thought of it first...or did you? lol

  • @TheEbikefisherman

    5 hp upgrade? What does that mean exactly? It’s a 3.5 hp and the carb upgrade gets you to 5hp? I’m not a shade tree mechanic or all that into motors, so was just wondering, because I need a small motor but would like as much hp as I can get. I have a 8ft Sundolphin that’s many years old and probably a thicker plastic than the new boats, so I could probably handle a slightly larger motor.

    Hey Man, Thanks for the video...I have a Bass Raider, and I'm ordering that Troll Kink. The only issue I have is my front trolling mount area is sloped and my trolling motor tends to slip off...Not sure how to fix that yet. As far as a name for your Channel...I have my own channel..."Rippin Lips with Marty Lawson". I'm not sure for yours, maybe something simple like, Fishing with Wes. Do something in the name related to fishing, that way when folks search "fishing" your channel will come up. I might need to change the name of my channel also. Have a great day!
