I just purchased the same boat at academy sports. Just titled it but haven't had a chance to put it in the water yet. I dug my 30 something year old 3.0 HP Sears Gamefisher air cooled, two cycle boat motor out of the shed, cleaned the carb out, even though it didn't need it. Changed the spark plug even though the old one still looked fine, put some mixed gas in er and it fired up on the second pull and runs great. So the Old Sears Gamefisher will be my new Bass Raiders main motor, and the newly purchased Newport 62 lb thrust electric motor will be my backup motor. I'm thinking that some Lake fishing is in my immediate future. BTW, I'm retiring in May.
@@maxcastfishing4357 Thank you. Yeah, I'm looking forward to no more daily schedules. I bought that GameFisher back in the early 1990's at a yard sale for $50.00. It's a simple motor to work on and it's never left me stranded. Your boat mods look fantastic. Very well done. Take care.
Nicely doen on this video and the mods. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and I hope you have a blessed weekend. That treated wood is a perk, you wont have the weeds sticking to if if you go to a place that has a bunch of weeds and what not right at the boat ramp. dale
I hope you're still using this bad ass boat!!! I had one years ago and never modified it. I plan to buy another soon and what you did is really awesome!
I bet your garage is neat and clean;) I had one of these boats and fished the back country of Cockroach Bay Florida back in the 90's. Mine wasn't decked out like yours but I caught more fish in that little thing than any other boat I have had since. Light tackle no seats and the biggest deep cycle battery I could buy along with a big trolling motor. I didn't use an outboard and fished non stop because of it. I had guys yelling at me from the bank one time (Big Bend hot water out flow) saying my lil boat made theirs look like a yacht, every time my rod bent I yelled back saying their yacht wasn't doing them any good at home. Reason I'm looking at your video (my wife & I were just looking at one in a Rural King) your boat set up nicely! Good job.
bayoubengal67 thanks for the compliment! My garage used to be clean and neat, then I had kids! I can get into places other boats just cannot go; I love it!
I have DEFINETLY decided the Bass Raider 10e is a Great 1 man boat, Sorry not 2. Too much drag on 3.5 hp motor. I like everything on your casting deck. OOOOOOH MAN I LOVE THE TOTE UNDER THE DECK! BRILLIANT!
I can tell that you have given a lot of guys a lesson on how to downsize their equipment and still have a fishing boat. Nice job on everything that you did!
ZeroZeroOne if you end up getting a PBR 10E you won’t be disappointed, it’s an awesome boat! It really doesn’t even need all the mods, but I enjoy them. Word of caution, if you decided to deck it out plan on getting a trailer!
I was on The fence about purchasing a bass raider 10E but you and your mods have changed my mind on it . I’m definitely going to purchase one.great job on the mods sir..
Nice neat organized set up. Only thing that would prevent me from doing something similar is in the past I have done a jon boat very similar and hated dealing with the added weight on the front when loading the boat. I have been considering a boat along the lines of this and for my use would be more apt to not add any additional weight besides motors, trolling battery and depth finder. But very nice work!
Great Mods , I am going to follow your lead with those mods ! I have already started my plans as I am moving in 4 months and will be very close to some nice lakes and a number of ponds !
That thing is awesome! I really want to buy one of these now just so I can build one. Yours seems to be very well thought out. It’s clean and simple and looks professional instead of some Jerry rigged mess.
That is the ultimate bass boat. You did a fantastic job, hope you don’t mind if I steal your ideas. I know what the boat runs but with the work and trailer, about how much do you have into it. I’m 62 and tried float tubes, pontoons, kayaks, 12 ft row boat; this boat would take me for the rest of my life. Definitely need the trailer. Don’t want to spend $25,000 for a bass boat.
Hi Jeff, thanks for the kind words! I have a video showing how to make the casting deck with plans. So yes, use any ideas you like! I love this little boat. All the best!
Just subscribed due to this video alone! Just picked up a brand new Prowler2 and this video has me planning a casting deck ASAP. Thanks for the inspiration!
I have the same set up, wasn’t sure how to go about modifications. But I’m definitely gonna mimic some of your ideas. This is awesome bro!! Love all your videos.
I have a pelican bass raider 10e myself...great little boat durable strong dependable I fish up at camp on a small pond in NH .....can get crowded with 2 people but perfect for one person......your video was awesome loved it....makes me want to do that to my boat
Hey man, quick question. Before I do the floor mods, have you had any trouble with water getting in the boat? Such as rotting in the floor? Great video!
So I have one but I’m taking the entire top off and putting plywood down to make it completely flat. And making mounts for a trolling motor and such. And where the hills are I am putting storage totes in and adding doors so I can have storage in. How you think it will float? Haha
@@ernienester I used a 6 inch by 2 inch cedar plank and used it to make a platform secured with L brackets and screws. Then I mounted a quick release mounting plate on that.
Sorry if I missed it but what kind of fasteners did you use to screw the deck to the boat? That plastic is thin and I wondered how you got them to not pull thru. Thanks
I used self-tapping latch screws and made sure not to over tighten. Check out this video for more details! All the best! th-cam.com/video/M-BheDRAw58/w-d-xo.html
Only thing I can recommend is wrap the bunks in indoor outdoor carpet to protect the hull. Plus if you beach it a lot on rocks or concrete. I used keel guard and just cut to fit the keel of the pontoons. My keel guard has been on for 3 years now and isn’t coming off anytime soon
MaxCast Fishing keelguard I ordered it 6’ just so if it came off I would have another piece to replace it. I also got ahold of the company and ordered a few more of the adhesive activator. It cuts easy with a knife or scissors. Then I took amazing goop marine, to blend in the edge of the guard to the hull of the boat. Also amazing goop is the only glue I found that will stick to the boat. I glued a piece of marine plywood for my fish finder, a pole holder for my net and the base of my bilge pump. The plywood and pump are 14 years old next month
Great job! Very efficient and organized. Well thought out to maximize use and still maintain a clean clutter free boat. Would you please include a diy video on the casting deck? Dimensions, how you braced it underneath, etc. thanks
SuperSafety123, thanks for the complement! Yes, I'll put together a short video explaining how I made the casting deck and the dimensions. I wish I would have video documented the modifications as I did them.
