After months of searching for a new car radio I got this stereo for my car installed it myself & it's so fire!! The sound is amazing from this... Love all of the functions for it!!
Do you have to add an amp for it? Or is it ok out of the box?
@@mwilliamsonn Well I also added new car speakers (JBL series) front and back for my vehicle as well with the radio installation.There's plenty of sound functions for this unit so if you tweek the sound with the equalizer and the settings it can get pretty loud without an amp. To be honest I'm not sure how it will sound if you still have your stock car speakers though. So I would invest in new speakers first and if your not satisfied with the sound then I would upgrade to an amp. Hope this helps.

A year later, it is in fact figured out. I picked this unit up new for $300 a couple months ago, just now getting it put in. The resolution isn’t that bad, it streams pretty well for $300. You get a LOT of radio for $300. It’s definitely the best of the bunch in the $300 gang of multimedia units currently.

If I were able to control this radio via my Android, ex: settings, source, volume via an app on my phone I would totally buy this! I have a completely custom radio setup and all I'm missing is this radio with app control (wirelessly). I have another one but it doesn't have the datalink maestro so I can also control my HVAC like this one. That would be PERFECT, would you possibly know of such a radio???
At 5:29 there is an option that says USB MTP:OFF. What would this be used for and why would you turn it on to enable? I've noticed none of your videos show what this feature is or does?

Will I have to press the voice button to give commands on an iPhone? Currently my phone always listens for "Hey Siri" and I can tell it to navigate or play music on Spotify. Would be nice if it still listens for these comands.

I had a shop install mine. Asked if it would do video before they installed it and they said yes. I have the USB but I’m wondering if they put that Beuler adapter in because I only see one usb cable connection. 🤔 They used all the other harnesses for motor gauges and backup camera. Using the Buler adapter is the ONLY way to have video play is my understanding.... 😩😩😩

This says it won't do wireless carplay (okay) BUT it also says you can't add it later on. Any reason you can't add an adapter to make it wireless? As far as I know they just make ANY unit think it's connected to USB.

At 3:25 it was mentioned that this Head-unit is equipped with WIFI. Is It true ? If yes it can also support wireless AA Or AppleCar play.
I own it and i believe it is not equipped with WIFI and it is using Phones data over wired connection to use Weblink.
No wireless CarPlay is a bummer. Damn lol.

We would if there were more than just a few that have them. Almost no stereos have HD screens from the major manufacturers

Doesn't the maestro Rr take care of the steering wheel controls? Why would you also need to buy the ASWC-1? Am I right? I just bought the maestro - I sure hope I'm right.

Depends on the make and model. I have a 2014 Kia Forte and I had to buy a certain cable for it to still work.

The biggest difference between those stereos is the price (the MVH-1400NEX is much cheaper), and the screen type (the MVH-1400NEX has a better capacitive touchscreen). Also, the MHV-1400NEX does not have Android Auto. With an iPhone, I'd get the 1400NEX. Android device, get the DMH

Me to I just ordered the PIONEER I Liked the Idea of not very deep but was not much of customizing the Alpine Going into my 07 Saab 9-3 when it gets here
Just bought this unit and it's a huge upgrade from the planet audio one that was in the car when I bought it. I checked for firmware update and the Pioneer website only shows version 18.12 but my unit says it's current version is 28.01. Not sure if the website is just outdated or what.

I installed everything correctly with the idata maestro kit in my Toyota Corolla 2015. How come the climate controls or parking assist don't show up in my pioneer DMH-1500NEX?

Quality Mobile Video I have everything all hooked up and one problem I have is Apple CarPlay cuts off my music sometimes in the app. I’ll have to try with a fresh Apple cable and see what happens. This is my second head unit I did a return/exchange on this model.

For you specifically, get the DMH-1500NEX. The MVH-1400NEX does not have Android Auto(Only apple carplay), so it's almost a waste of money for you to get. The DMH-1500NEX will support Android Auto for your device

Get one of those android ones. But make sure the screen is HD.
Parker Tyler Kenwood makes an HD head unit for around $600. You can find it cheaper if you search for it.
Sony xav 5000 comes with 7" capacitive touch screen and thin bezels. It costs less than $300. The only downside is it is not HD.

Why won’t car play appear ? I use hooked up my 1500 nex
I plug in my own type c cable to the USB’ port on the head unit and apple car play never pops up I also never get a charge the usb icon stays grayed out .
I do not have the green parking wire hooked up yet to ground but that should not have any thing to do with car play not coming up ?
Restart the phone and make sure you are using an Apple cable, the aftermarket cables are notoriously unreliable.
How’s the calls on this one? You mentioned it wasn’t good on the alpine.

Personally, I'd get the MVH-1400NEX because of its capacitive touchscreen and I have an iPhone. If you have an Android, get the DMH, the MVH doesn't have Android Auto

Well the two biggest differences with those stereos are, the DMH-2600NEX is a digital media receiver with a capacitive touchscreen and no buttons. The AVH has a disc slot and a clear resistive screen.
