I had this installed on my 2012 mazda 6. The only problem I have to ask about is why the rear speakers above the back seat aren't working. Other than that, I really like the receiver.
Might be because these headunits would only work with 4 speakers + 1 sub out of the box (2 in the front doors and 2 in the rear doors)If you need additional speakers you might need an amplifier.

Sounds like it was miswired, you might have connected the accessories wire to the constant 12v wire. Check the connections.
Did you connect the red wire?
