Man I literally just found this channel yesterday while researching this unit...he puts out the video for it the next day...you, sir, just earned my subscription.
The DMH-W4660NEX is the king of the Pioneer traditional double DIN lineup. The fastest aftermarket unit I’ve ever used, and is basically the same as Pioneers flagship DMH-WT8600NEX, but in a traditional DD chassis. I highly recommend checking out that unit, and hopefully you guys can do a review on that one too!
Honestly I love this radio and I’ve had it In my truck about 4 months now. I came to the video to see how I could use apple play and the maps without the usb, And now I know that I doesn’t have it and there’s nothing I can do about it😂😭 thanks for the help and breaking my heart😂😂
I was interested in this review because I have been thinking about purchasing the 2550NEX and other than being faster I didn't see much improvement and you lose the CD/DVD drive. Thanks for the review!

Missing the volume to clipping! I have a 4660NEX going in and would like to know when it clips, figure the internals as far as amp are probably similar to this one....and why no 4 channel test? 99% of people will be running 4 sets of 4ohm speakers on the line level outputs and maybe a sub on the rear RCA preouts.
I've been using this head unit for about a week now and love it. It is easy to use and very fast with no lag. I would really love to know how to get Alexa working. The head unit doesn't really have any settings or information on how that works
@@Justin87878 I have avh-2300nex for over a year now.. best 300$ spent on a radio. The sound different is night and day especially with the additional Woofer I added.. I love pioneer and for me I wouldn't pick any other company. I found pioneer has the best interface the only down side is you have to pay big to get all the features like 2 usbs, hdmi, wireless carplay, HD screen and mirorring. Honestly I don't feel like I miss any of those features. for the price tag its perfect.
I installed this in my truck November 2020 I like it but when listing to satellite radio you can not spot the screen to use your maps. But can split the screen to see your maps when playing music from your phone
Please let us know if you find another channel that tests RMS power at multiple frequencies, distortion, voltage outputs, power consumption, energy, waveform, and frequency response in every video
EDIT: What's the first song called? I searched WaketheWild's website, youtube channel, soundcloud, and spotify and can't find it. Superb review, most likely going with this headunit for my 2006 Mustang GT. Also, I have absolutely 0 clue of what type of data you were showing us when it got to the audio section lmao; like literally no clue (i understand the terms but not what the numbers mean). With that being said, I'd much appreciated if you gave us a general consensus on the overall audio quality of the headunit based on your findings! It would help us average folk out who don't know too much about audio numbers.
Is this DMH-2660NEX same as the DMH-2600NEX? I only noticed a few differences, one comes with remote and has SuperTuner IIID. Both have 4V Preout Voltage.
I wish I would seen this headunit. I purchased the JVC KW-560BT the JVC radio is vary lacking for the price. It doesn't have idatalink and if you want to carry audio through USB you have to use AA or Car Play. I don't have google services so AA doesn't work and Car Play doesn't work on ipad. I think the weblink is a blessing in disguise as you don't need to have it installed to have audio go through the usb without AA or car play. Do not buy the JVC buy this it has idatalink and you don't have to have spyware to stream audio through USB and yes AA and Car Play is spyware.
Am i the only dissapointed about all of them? I mean no 1080p screen, no ambient sensors and shitty car integration, i mean most of them look out of place in 100% of the vehicles and laughable processing power... with a price that sometimes you are better of with an OEM upgrade.

Money and profit I'm afraid. People keep buying these, so why do better? I mean these headunits still have the same problems my old 2009 avh3100 had. USB files cant be organized alphabetically even! It's by when the usb stick recieved the file.

Quick exemple ; there is a ton of people on forums talking about this issue and they have no choice but to open the whole unit and replace the internal SD card. And that's because Pioneer uses really really cheapest SD and it leads to many many bugs. This is my second unit in 2 years, I now have the AVH-4500 and again it's the same problem

Yup. At volume 40, left channel 40 Hz, we got 3.35 volts with 0.134% distortion. Right channel we got 3.38 volts with 0.135% distortion. At 1KHz, left channel, we got 3.53 volts with 0.028% distortion. Right channel we got 3.56 volts with 0.027% distortion.

For compact active subwoofer (underseat), tp be precise is Blaupunkt GTR 130A, is it ok if connect the power(yellow) wire to the power wire of headunit? Not direct to the positive terminal of battery. Is it enough power for the active subwoofer?

The differences between the DMH-2600NEX and DMH-2660NEX is the DMH-2660NEX has HD Radio and inlcudes a wireless remote control whereas the 2600NEX has neither

My pioneer DMH 2600 Nex radio turns off and on again when I start the vehicle, we check all the connections and they are correct, this fault is very annoying, what should I do?
When a car stereo cuts out and then turns back on the problem is usually in the wiring. If the display shuts off at the same time the music cuts out, then the unit is probably losing power.
My 2300 volume down button start malfunctioning after 3 years so I grabbed this one. I like the new touch buttons but the volume up and down can be hard to hit when not looking, need to get SWC. As far as the numbers. You are taking this to max volume and getting no source clipping/low THD?
Where did you purchased your headunit? This model is supposed to have a green parking brake extension attached directly to the wiring harness. I would definitely contact whoever you purchased it from

Despite it not having wireless car play, its still a great deck.
I was having issues with android auto but I switched cords and now it works perfectly and even weblink runs quickly

I would advise to consider Kenwood and Alpine first, or Sony if you can afford the extra buck

So for the first two tests on speaker channels we're at volume 38, then in the RCA output test we're at full volume.
