You did a great job introducing it but how ever I’m disappointed with pioneer cd dvd hdmi wifi is something that they should come up with something like the new cars now in days a stereo for a family definitely something I would pay for

I have this radio which replaced my old unit from 2013 and this one is terrible. I can't turn the "loud" feature on and can't really adjust the eq because the distortion is terrible

I don't know if you or anyone will read this, but I appreciate your videos. I have a 2008 Infiniti G35 (non Bose). I currently have stock radio, Rockford Punch P1-2X12, LC2i, (bought off Crutchfield) and Alpine MRX-M55 (550W). I am looking to upgrade my Head Unit, which is very pricy for the adapters (Mounting bracket, wiring Harness, and steering wheel control adapter). I don't like buying sub par products and am a little intimidated by all the various head units that will fit my car. Any recommendations? I would like to have wireless Android Auto / Apple Car Play. I have seen some head units where you can clone the screen, which I would like as sometimes I do long drives with my daughter who would watch TH-cam etc. Currently just have a magnet mount on the area where the factory head unit is, and then am running a BT adapter (RCA Auxiliary). Appreciate everything you all do and would appreciate any recommendations.

I just installed this unit and can't get the night illumination to work at all. It would appear that it's supposed to engage when the cars headlights are turned on, but I don't know how. Regardless, I can't adjust the screen illumination at night. Any tips on how to do that? Thanks for the vid!

Question for Pioneer. Why in 2022 since there isn't any CD mechanism, the power output is still only 14watts Rms per channel?(like since 20 years ago) Isn't there more space to add bigger or more Output IC's or Mosfets? Also why are the RCA outputs 2volt??

My stereo gets installed in 14 days and I’m excited but I got a question I forgot to ask the installers, when I put it in reverse is it going to automatically go to the backup camera or do I manually have to go to it
Comes up automatically when in reverse your guy just has to wire it up to the reverse wire. But he should know how to do it.

Music through wire always sounds better than music streaming through Bluetooth. Theirs a radio (Atoto) that's been had all that gesture and more.
Which head unit would you say is better, the radio you are displaying or pioneer dmh-160bt???...which one is newer?

I had this stereo installed on my 2018 Nissan Altima but they couldn’t connect to the car’s microphone so they had a microphone next to my rear view mirror (did not like that). Two buttons on my steering wheel didn’t function (the answer and hang up buttons) and finally I couldn’t fix or adjust the lines for the backup camera. I had to return it and it was a total fail.

Yes I had the same issue with my 2018 Nissan frontier.. the factory microphone does not work and the two buttons on the steering wheel to answer and hang up they only work when you use Android auto it doesn't work with Bluetooth unfortunately..... But I don't know if you know about the factory radio of the Nissan frontier. Bluetooth doesn't work sooo I rather settle for this stereo then the factory one it sucks to hear that he had a hard time with your radio but like I said I'd rather keep the radio that I bought then go back to the factory one....

I'm looking to upgrade my 2015 Sorento (I absolutely HATE the HU that came stock with it). I'm stuck between this one or the Sony XAV-AX3200/5000 series. I subscribe to SiriusXM and want Apple CarPlay also. I like this one because it says it has the Sports flash (shows scores of the games I pick), but it's not a make-or-break to have it or not. This one is $2 more than the 3200, $100 less than 5500 on Crutchfield. Which one is most recommended?

@@nathanielcolobong9715 I went with Pioneer DMH-1770NEX. It’s within the same range as the Sony. Mainly I chose it because the Sony unit was out of stock and I got impatient, but I really do like it. Definitely an upgrade over the stock junk. It does NOT have the advanced Sirius features, but it’s fine.

@@Zer0tolerance77 avoid it. I bought two and both have the same problem of the screen becoming unresponsive and then eventually turning white and not booting up. I haven’t been able to find a solution to fix it other than returning to Pioneer, but they are out of warranty.
There is a Sony one of the same price I should have bought instead.

Is it compatible with idatalink maestro RR in order to keep my steering wheel controls ( with the T harness ) ? (2012 impreza hatch sport 2.0). Concerning your screen miroring issue, if I'm right, in order to play Netflix or TH-cam, parking brake needs to be activated or simply bypassed.

I have this unit but can’t get the av to play any video. I have the 3 wire bypass still no luck
You have to add a toggle to the blue wire on the bypass because this radio has a delay so it does allow the bypass to actually work but with the toggle it works fine

I have the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX. It is good enough. It has the Idata Maestro compatibility. The interface looks much better on the DMH-1770NEX. It has wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, Aux input, USB input, antenna input, input for back up camera, wired harness, extra inputs for another camera or input for a video source like a iPhone, and inputs for subwoofer or extra speakers. I got mines for $350 from Best Buy. I have it installed in a Toyota Corolla LE 2015. The Apple iPhone update 15.3.1 does not work well with Apple CarPlay for now too. Have a great day!

I just got this installed and have not been able to get apple carplay to work and that's the sole reason i bought this. ive tried everything from restarting phone,car, also enabling and restricting carplay on my iphone, making sure siri is turned on checked multiple cables, but does not want to connect. But bluetooth works fine but i want apple carrplay to work. i just need to see what else i can try before going back to best buy.
Apple CarPlay on this unit requires a wired connection, through a data cable (not a charging cable), and _if already connected by Bluetooth,_ it won't connect to another connection like being wired in at the same time.

Many cables are intended only for charging, while others have extra internal strands which allows for data transfer between devices, which is what you'll need for CarPlay to work. Finding them is usually a quick search on Amazon for "USB A to Lightning Data Cables". Reputable brands include Syncwire, Anker, Chafon, CableCreations and UGreen.

I have a Pioneer DMH 1700 NEX and the head unit works with other android phones and Iphones but not with mine and I just got a new phone it's a Red Magic 7 Pro. It's supposed to be a gaming phone. But the stereo doesn't feed through the bass for my subwoofer when the phone is connected. I went to all the audio shops in my area none of them could fix the issue. That and the android auto looks like it's gliching when it's connected on my phone. I think that's why it's not feeding through the bass. When bluetooth is on it feeds the bass through and even when the radio is on.

That’s actually pretty good for entry level. Wireless CarPlay is a must. Can you make a video about what setting to use and set on a radio like loudness and such?
I’ve heard that wireless carplay is really glitchy! I appreciate the wired car play for one reason and one reason only, it keeps my phone charged at all times, everywhere I go now my phone is never dead!

@@iamchrisgates180 yes wireless is glitchy but it mainly about antenna placement. I installed my radio with the antenna close to where my phone is going to be most of the time and even still it’s glitchy. Always use the gps they send not your OEM car antenna.

if you mean subwoofer and amp, no you will need a line-out converter though to connect the amplifier to the stock head unit

@@bsb_life6293 If you get a new head unit they normally have the outputs needed for your amps:) if you do not get a new head unit and just wanna run off your stock head unit then a line output converter would be needed to convert the signal:) outside of that as long as you get the correct size speakers for your car you wouldnt have really any other issues as long as the speakers/subs are combined with the proper amps:)

No I would say the 2660 is better. 4 volt preouts and idatalink compatible

I installed this stereo with a reverse back up camera. Every time I put on reverse the screen goes black. Saying NO SIGNAL.

the buttons on the left side are basically nearly invisible in the day ... and have no tactile feel. Otherwise stereo is good.

I know. 720p...hdmi INPUT and TWO usbs. Since it's a mechless unit we should just be able to plug in a flash drive and just leave it. Use a phone for Android auto and listen to music off the dang USB drive!

You can only watch it through the aux input. So you would need a hdmi to composite adapter and that will allow those apps to work

You dont really get much of anything extra without jumping up to the excelon series and ive had better audio quality outa my 80 prs than outa non excelon model kenwoods
Worst car stereo of my life, it keeps rebooting constantly also the screen turns white and not hable to turn it off so at night is dangerous having all that luminosity at my dash is completely garbage.
