I was genuinely expecting Force Grapple and Self Destruct for a lot of these, but not like I'm complaining. New fun and unique Lego challenge runs are always appreciated, and this is shocking quality for subs in just the 60's. Absolutely looking forward to more. Potential video idea: how *low* of a percentage can you beat the full story at? Essentially trying to avoid as many pickups and unlocks as possible.
Speedrunner here. You can do this challenge with a lot fewer shots: You can skip a lot of these with Deflect Bolts, which requires 0 shots to get. You can skip others with Self Destruct, which requires 0 shots to get. In vehicle levels, you can destroy enemies with Vehicle Smart Bomb, which requires 0 shots to get. You can one-shot several enemies at once using EBB (Exploding Blaster Bolts), which can also be collected with 0 shots. Enemies with multiple health can be defeated with fewer shots if you have Super Blasters, which requires 0 shots to get. In 2-3, you can skip shooting the target with Bucketless. In 3-3, you can jump near the final bomb from below after forcing it. In 4-1, EBB can blow up the grey thing with on shot. You can skip the gate in 4-13 with a speeder clip. When chasing imperial spy, you can enter the door before it closes by taking a specific route. In 4-5, you don't need to destroy the barrel. In 5-2, you don't need the snowmobile. Push C-3PO up with a box. In 5-3, you don't need to shoot the asteroids if you have Infinite Torpedoes. In 5-3, asteroids have multiple health, so if you are doing it without extras, the tally should be higher for the second scene and fourth scenes. In 5-4, you can skip the targets in the third scene by going out of bounds. In 5-6, Zacc is not teleporting. The door clipped him through the wall, and maneuvered to be beneath the floor. In 5-6, you do not need C-3PO. You can use the box to clip out of bounds. In 6-2 you can blow up the bars in one blaster shot with EBB. In 6-4, you can do the entire first room with R2-D2 by flying off the guard rails. In 6-4, you can diveroll off of the hill with Han to skip building the turnstile. In 6-5, you don't need the catapult or the walker. Do a Drop-In Warp to get out of bounds, go below the stage, and then hit the loading zone from below. In 6-5, in the bunker, you can clip out of bounds using the first door to skip opening the other two doors, as well as the puzzles. In total, I think you could do this with only about 20 shots. The direction that Deflect Bolts deflects bolts in is random, so it would be super annoying. Even without extras, you still get DB from power-ups, but then it would be even more annoying since you only get 20 seconds.
How many can be avoided with Extras? Like self-destructing droids blowing up targets, or exploding blaster bolts lessening the number of required shots.

If you turn on the Explosive Blaster Bolts Red Brick, any blaster bolts you reflect inheret the Explosive Blaster Bolts effect. Technically this means that reflected blaster bolts count as being shot by the player and not by the npc.
There's a lot of overlap here between this and the "least buttons" run in terms of optimization. Immediately, the first 8 shots can be skipped by using the Deflect Bolts and Explosive Blaster Bolts extras. The next 3 after Zam can be avoided with some skillful backflip triple jumps. I don't have the least button presses run memorized so there's probably a lot more throughout the whole video. Most of the shots you need to get around the levels can probably be avoided by going the least button presses route.
A lot of tech used in the any% route can be used here to skip shots. EBB (from 2-5) can 1hit barrel in 4-1. 4-5 barrel can be skipped with trashskip. I think the "door controls" can also be skipped, but the tech isnt used in runs. 5-2 I forget the route, but it sees a lot of EBB usage. 5-3 is done with IT, so asteroid shots are 0. 5-5 (CCT) opposing EBB can be used to get through the door. 5-5 box is not required, boxclip chewie/r2 through the wall removing 2 shots. 6-2 I think ebb is used? think it removes 4? I forget 6-4 route, but EBB will help. 6-1 opening, in theory torpedo duping removes shots there too.
Great video I think you might be able to save some shots in 2 - 3 by using Anakin to jump up onto where you shoot the targets and get to the higher section where a Minikit is and if you picked up the red brick in 2 - 5 for exploding blaster bolts you could have saved a lot of shots on every object that took multiple shots. In conclusion amazing video.

in the endor level does wicket's slingshot count as shooting? you said in the beginning during the rules that a single beam of plasma being released from a weapon is one shot, but wicket's slingshot isn't a plasma weapon, just a question!

I used a beam of plasma as a general definition because that's what the majority of the characters fall under. I think the catapult should still count because I'm shooting a projectile.
