Nice video but for this application I recommend use 5/30 dominos and set machine on 15mm depth.
If you want use 6/40 dominos I recomend set 15mm depth for perpendicular cut and 25mm depth for longitudinal cut.
In both cases domino dowels will be hidden.

Nice informative video. I’m on the cusp of buying my Domino 500 so I’ve been watching videos on how to use it. I was certain you made a mistake when you started the holes on the sides of the drawer from the outside. I didn’t realize you intended to go all the way thru! I do kinda like the contrast between the side and the domino. However is there a way to do the sides w/o going all the way thru; a shallower cut, but then I guess the domino would be to long….?

Hi, it took me awhile to take the plunge and purchase the Domino 500 as I'm a hobby woodworker but glad I did. Yes, you can easily make shallower cuts by setting the depth stop. I have done this also. Use shorter dominos or cut them. I cut them safely on my bandsaw.

Yes. In this project you would just set the depth of the sides to 15 and the depth on the ends to 25. This way your dominos will be completely hidden.
I have both machines, the 500 and the 700. I’m a hobbyist, but no regrets whatsoever. These are really nice tools.
I use the 500 mostly for 4/4 stock and the 700 for when I’m using 8/4 or 12/4. (Doors, railings, bed frames, etc…)

taking much, much longer then pocket screws and much , much more expensive. I can get a good quality pocket hole jig for 150$ and domino costs 1500$

I would probably use a pocket hole jig too if all I was building were shop cabinets.
I use my domino machines for things like doors, bed frames, railings, etc…
Not sure why he’s taking so long with the domino. Maybe he’s just learning the machine. My drawers would go together much faster than this.

I would not purchase the Domino for only doing drawers also. This video was meant for those who already have a Domino or on the fence to purchasing one and shows another possible use for it. I bought mine when they were $700 which I thought was a lot at the time especially for a hobby woodworker.
