So many haters in the comments whenever someone mentions the price of the beautiful cars you guys showcase. Some people will never understand someone’s passion for a certain car or how deep some peoples pockets are lmao
Ive seen it in other videos as well. Not every car is worth the number they throw out but some of these cars like this 930 people dont realize the history/quality of parts that go into it and they pulled this thing together with excellence.
@Mistabushi maybe he saw one comment in particular but i myself havent really seen any on this video but in other videos people for sure be hating and pocket watching.
Everytime i think i have seen it all, here comes another car that lets me know there is more out there to see. Been loving Porsche for years and this old school 930 has been tastefully done. By your expressions Shawn,i know you really really enjoyed driving this one.
Great car! As an owner of a 964 and a 997 (& my wife has a 986) I generally ‘tune in’ for the muscle cars & the hot rods. But when you do feature a 911, you do the cars proud & your enthusiasm, Shawn, shines through. Good work!
Such a well done car front to back, kept it classic, timeless, sporty & like an almost stock Porsche with subtle mods/upgrades & in an awesome color combo with the accent colors etc. Porsche from the 1970s - 1990s look so good & are so cool/fun when they're built and tuned properly! Can't beat that wing style or the classic big whale tails and the air cooled turbo sounds so good. Really like this one and it looks/sounds super fun to drive!
Love the bit near the end where you go “fuck, the balance…”. As a Porsche owner who also loves vintage American cars (it’s a weird cross over, I think), it was entertaining to see you lusting after that thing Shawn!
Production quality is great and going to be better and better ! Wonderful pictures and content. The pronounciation of the company name "Makellos" that means flawless in German is really different :-)... Thumbs up from Germany for the Porsche. J.
Crazy awesome resto-mod that is built to insane levels of perfection! Shawn going beyond infatuation with this one...to I found my automotive soulmate. 😍😍😍😍😍
I’ve always loved that more raw, mechanical sound of these Porsches. I’m no expert on them (sadly) but nothing out there sounds like it and I love its noises all the way through the powerband!
Hey Shawn, when I was younger I was a really big Flyers fan. So we know why this car is called The Widowmaker!! Pelle Lindbergh’s meet your maker vessel. I think he would be really impressed by this beautiful build. Great Video Thank You 🙏
Oops I forgot, Niki,Nigel, or Al Holbert would be really the only drivers to bring the best out of this machine. Their factory racing Porsche’s had no nannies.
Remember the widowmaker articles when I was a teenager and it was true! Turbo cars in that era were boost hitting hard, too hard or not at all Actually prefer that, makes you pay attention and feel alive. Analog badazz ride love it .
I think the best drivers were and are the old analog drivers. Richard, Mario, Niki, Nigel, Al,Emo. Had to throw Richard in because Richard and his father and family are NASCAR and he has driven everything since the 50’s and he is still with us. Lol.. Oops I forgot Ken Miles not only a driver but also an engineer. And Carroll… Probably a list that I’m just breaking the ice on..
Cool build. The 930 motor is a beast. The Ruf 5 speed is super hard to find they sell for $25,000 last one I saw. Shift knob is 917 era. I think the brakes on the 930 are so cool with the cooling fins also from the 917 era. Air cooled cars forever 🏁🏁🏁🏁
Perfect road for this car! I'm surprised Shawn that you like Porsche I though you were only a V8 addict... 😊 No better sound than an aircooled flat 6 (911 R 1967 the graal).
I mean no disrespect I only respect and am such a Ruf fan I just wanted to clarify. this transmission is out of a CTR. the Yellowbird is a CTR but 1 specific car, that is still owned by Alois and used to this day. there are yellow CTR's maybe clone or tribute but there is only 1 Yellowbird. that said this is an outstanding build. what a great idea starting with the car your trying to get to is genious. I wish other people respected the cars they build as much as you. I'm familiar with you all and you are are extremely top Porsche shop so this is exactly what I'd expect. Shawn were need more big power turbos to scare the shit out of you!!! cheers and again an outstanding build.
@@AutotopiaLA Shawn I can always rest assure that the vehicles for feature will be top notch with great owners sharing stories about their unique car. I never missed an episode since your first one and they just keep getting better.i must thank you for you hard work and dedication. cheers my friend.
I think I was lusting after Porsches since I was one month old.... This thing is SO RIGHT that I'll have dreams about it. Wish I could understand how you keep an air-cooled/turbo engine out of detonation better.
Shawn, I’m right there with ya, brother! $450,000?🤔 Superfornance, Makellos? 🤷♂️ I’ve owned a Porsche-powered Super Beetle & an old 911 SC (back when I was young & stupid). Nothing feels better to drive than a wonderfully setup Porsche.
70s Chevy trucks also had plaid interiors. Was a thing back then...even plaid golf pants. Thought it was hilarious as a 70s kid but like seeing dated trends...some anyways
If you are doing a restored, can you be consistent with look and engine? No turbo ever had a duck tail. If it's a turbo, use a wholesale or turbo tail. If it's an IROC RSR tribute use a whale tail. And use mirrors from the period or a sport mirror.
There isn’t a dude alive that wouldn’t want to drive that Porsche through those canyons.
Thanks for sharing.
I didn’t want to stop!
Shawn, do you ever just stop and ponder at how awesome your job is?!
So many haters in the comments whenever someone mentions the price of the beautiful cars you guys showcase. Some people will never understand someone’s passion for a certain car or how deep some peoples pockets are lmao
Lmao where ? I don’t see anyone mentioning the cost …
Ive seen it in other videos as well. Not every car is worth the number they throw out but some of these cars like this 930 people dont realize the history/quality of parts that go into it and they pulled this thing together with excellence.
Where? All positive comments. What are you on bro
@Mistabushi maybe he saw one comment in particular but i myself havent really seen any on this video but in other videos people for sure be hating and pocket watching.
@ could be. Fair enough some folks will point out the ridiculous to them costs but I don’t think I ever seen a straight up hate.
Nothing beats driving a Fast Car on a typically sunny California Day
Commiefornia.
The best!
Except you're still in California. Lol
I love outlaw air-cooled 911s. This is a fantastic build. Well done to the Makello team.
Idk why but all of a sudden Im in love with these old air cooled porsches. Just beautiful cars.
I like how authentic this channel is 😎
Thank you!
Best ever and Im a picky mofo. Hits it out of the park every single dam time!!
Sick car!!! And that was pretty cool to see Damon out there…his Revuelto is so badass!
Fun seeing him and the Revuelto at the end
Everytime i think i have seen it all, here comes another car that lets me know there is more out there to see. Been loving Porsche for years and this old school 930 has been tastefully done. By your expressions Shawn,i know you really really enjoyed driving this one.
I did enjoy driving this one. I’ve always loved Porsche and this is so tastefully built

Beautiful car 💙 that interior is PROPER
Dig all your content brother, but the Porsche stuff is on another level. Truly one of the best sport cars ever made.
Thank you and I agree…Porsche is sportscar perfection imo
Love the IROC Porsche look, and tall sidewall on the tires.....nice
My favorite kind of restoration- all the right updates, not overly done, stock-appearing interior. Fantastic.
Agreed. They really did this one right
Agree. Its not overdone, would love to drive it for a weekend on a tight cyn road with switchbacks. Id die with a big ol smile on my face!

Even though I'm not a Porsche fan, Its well built and BEAUTIFUL.
I can't say Love it! enough!!! WoW! and that purple Lambo....Omgoodness!
I have had a Porsche 930 turbo on my Xmas list since 1980. 😊
I'm in love too...
100% agree with the tires, I can't stand big rims with tiny thin sidewalls.
Same here especially on this
Totally agree, when I see that I completely lose interest in the car , especially on classic cars
@@Slingshotgixxer yeah I don't like it on cars trucks anything.
@@mortem-tyrannis on trucks and big muscle cars its the worst, looks like a big bodybuilder on stilettos to me.
@ironkcoony lol
ahhh the RUF yellowbird. thats one of my fav vehicles of all time
That’s what I’m talking about! Great build and the detail of having a Ruf transmission is cool.
Wow that would be my daily.Such a perfect car
That is one little Feral Rabbit! 🐰 The sound is tremendous!
Those 6's have a great sound to them. Exhaust, tappet noise its pure music to me.
Wow , what an incredible build. The interior is so dope. I would do unspeakable things for this car 😂😂
You are absolutely correct! There’s HP and Porsche HP. My dad had a 1975 911 I drove many times and it had
Please do more Porsches! Incredible.
More coming I promise

DDDAAAMMMNNN !!! This is NICE NICE NICE !!!!
Another KILLER car! That is a very well-built car. I really like the interior. KEEP UP THE GREAT CONTENT!!!
Crazy awesome resto-mod that is built to insane levels of perfection!

Great review of a beautiful build of a 911.
Thank you. Great car!
Total Porsche fan
One of if not even the best TH-cam channels ever ❤❤ keep it up 🔥❤️
👍Like # 46. If this is someone's daily driver then they've done life right and I'm happy for them. Sweet.
Agree. Only thing better than an early Sun morn drive is M-S!
Only on this planet once I want the most fun I can have and stay above ground.
Not something i would own or build.. but wow what a car.. appreciate all things on wheels.✌️
Alike like art.
A Porchá on Autotopia LA? Hells yeah
I love Porsche!
the DDE vehicle bring me here because i recognized the driver in the porsche
I’ve always loved that more raw, mechanical sound of these Porsches. I’m no expert on them (sadly) but nothing out there sounds like it and I love its noises all the way through the powerband!
Love the sounds also. Whirring of the fan, valvetrain singing exhaust its candy for the ears.
I love those old school porsche's.
Me too
beautyful ! sobre ! pure ! 😍😍
Totaly dig it even though I’m biased as a Porsche fan. More please!
This porsche is so beautiful. Came from DDE❤

Is it air cooled engine? Perfect build better then from factory. Fat tires loos sick. Great episode. Greetings
Old school air cooled perfection
Rite up my alley ! Falling in love with porsches lately
nice 911! Men! Those resto porches are insane...every one are so special...

just wanted to send some love from dde

I absolutely love this. I need a better job, best 911 spec, I need to win the lottery. 😍

Une vraie merveille !!
I hope Shawn one day gets a cool Porsche one day.
🤤 speechless 🤤
More Porsche stuff, that ruled.
That fat tires a rocking - they really need to come back on classic cars
So good! 👍
Perfection

There is something about a built 930 that has suspension, brakes, and 640hp they always seem to give you a perminate grin.Great car
It's almost criminal you didn't play "Life in the Fast Lane" at one point while in the hills
lol!
Or Foreigners "redline" song.
Fast Lane is appropriate here!
That’s a good one 👍🏼
Love this car!
This summer at Lime Rock they had three 1972 911 RSR IROC race cars.
Friend of mine has one of those with a dual turbo ls. Very fast car.
Finally a real car on here
Classic silhouette
Cha Ching!
See you at SEMA Shawn
We’ll have a smoke at back a Central lol
See you there next week!
Nice Porsche 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Definitely a nice car
Very nicely shot
Thank you
Super nice!!! Have yall done a singer? If not it’s only right
DLS coming soon!
Not in the same class by any means but this makes me miss my 67 Fastback with a 1910cc That car would just go!
To me, your old Mustang fastback is way more desirable.
Love this car so much but not so sure about the interior. Was that the original style seat cover?
Tartan was used in the late 70’s/early 80’s so they did this to give it a certain flavor
70s Chevy trucks also had plaid interiors. Was a thing back then...even plaid golf pants. Thought it was hilarious as a 70s kid but like seeing dated trends...some anyways
@@AutotopiaLA Thanks.
Cool hotrod!
Excellent
Herbie’s the Volkswagen Bug cousins 😂
saw this on dde haha nice!

It’s a custom build done how they wanted it. Not a concourse car
Are you really telling someone to build thier car your way?
It’s beautiful but what’s with the bumper trim looks a little cattywampus? Cheers!
more of this
Beautiful car and handsome bearded driver. 😂
lol!
What a car... I would have that all day long over just about anything
OH YEAH!!!!!
Looks nice. But I would change the wing mirrors...
I’m thinking you an Sean Evan’s should do an episode!
That’s a lot of cheddar.
