The joys of burnouts. I had a 57 chevy truck years ago and I fell on some hard times so she had to go. I took it out for one last cruise and when I got home I pulled up in my driveway, parked and just sat there with the door open listening to it idle knowing it wouldn't be there the next day. So what did I do.............. "MASSIVE BURNOUT." I hammered down and let her eat. My wife came running out of the house with a "WTF" are you doing face and I just sat there all smiles, engine screaming as the smoke cloud totally engulfed the truck. It was a bitter sweet moment but worth it. Years later I still have a crater and melted rubber in my driveway as a reminder. 😊 Bring on the burnouts!!!! keep up the great work guys. You all are amazing.

Thanks so much for your videos, especially when you drive out into the surrounding area. My Grandfather was John Winder who owned the Clear Creek Ranch which borders the east rim of Zion Park, in fact he built the East Rim Trail which used to be called John's Back Door. As a child my Dad told us for hours about the beauty of the Park but most of all he loved the ranch and the Mount Carmel Glendale area. Dad moved to Central Nevada in the 30s and built our family here in Fallon Nevada. But I love the mountains around eastern Zion and watching your off roading around the area is a special treat.
It's wonderful the way you express your family values and the great blessing of teaching your children by being able to work learn and grow by working with a good man like Paul.

Paul, I am always amazed at your knowledge and skill - your tips about being careful welding evenly around axle housings, and even beefing up the welds at the pumpkin will be useful to those doing welding. On the other hand, I am equally amazed at some of your antics, such as "burnouts" - I could never understand how burning off probably several hundred miles of tread on a tire was cool, not to mention you're doing it in an enclosed environment - you know all that black soot all over the shop and on your hands? It's in your lungs, too. If you're going to do stupid things like "burnouts," do them outdoors or in a well ventilated area, and don't breath in the "smoke," which is actually rubber soot. You're making good progress on the Rat Rod, and, again, your knowledge of the shortcomings of the one ton brakes as opposed to the half ton brakes is remarkable.

Paul I have to say as a fellow man and builder. I never once in all the years watching noticed your shirt size or crack. But thanks to Mrs fab rat I'll always notice.

Paul, where do you get parts for those axles? I just finished rebuilding a dana 44 and it was ridiculous how many different places I had to order parts from!

@@matty86suk I'll second that. I work at east coast gear supply. I'll say we stock more parts then anybody. Just call and ask. Orders ship same day or the next business day if in stock.

I absolutely love your content. As a Papa, I love to see another dad training men instead of raising boys! I'm glad to see old school family values are still used today.
I laugh at your haters, please don't change anything. Thanks for posting!

LMAO Paul, aka Snidley Whiplash... Threw Randall straight under the bus. Hahaha, didn't even crack a grin, no hesitation, nothing. Oh man. 🤣🤣🤣
Those are some monster steering arms. That whole axle is super slick. Very nice.

I think Paul should have let one of the kids drive the tractor to unload the truck I'm sure they would have done a little better😂

I remember baseball days as a time out to go sit with the wife lady and just relax. Never missed a game and enjoyed every minute of just relaxing and watching the boy suck at sports ball. Thank you for entertaining us and I enjoy the little window you guys allow us to see of your great family.Thank you for your time.

From an early age I “washed” parts for my dad on his automotive overhauls/projects…..
He built things up, I washed.
By the time I was early teens, I knew I didn’t want to be a mechanic!
Glad to see your including build time with your boys, and sharing the “accomplishments” side of wrenching!
