    I just watched this 5'3" rider from India (Bulu Patnaik) ride the 400x to the mountrain top Sandakphu(near Darjeeling) wihich is at 12,000 feet! The entire track is an incline steep filled with rocks and mud. Not a single bolt loose, or stall issues. He did another 10 days trip to a mountain top, no issues.

    owned mine for 3 weeks and almost hit my 600 mile break in, hoping to get that done by next week so i can open it up more, i think the power is fantastic even below 7k rpm i can pull up a hill in 6th no problem so yeah if anything i'm hoping the taller tires I'm putting on it for off-road purposes will help, if not i may look into the speed sprocket swap as well. It's an absolute gem to ride and is extremely comfortable, I agree with everything you said in the video you can see things in the rear mirrors even at high RPM the image is clear not blurred by vibrations like my other bikes. Taller tires might help with the speed indication as well and I did raise my front forks up and felt a very noticeable difference in the handling for the better, maybe not as nimble falling into corners but much more pleasant ride and now the kickstand works as it should so for anyone complaining about the kickstand just raise the forks up and gtg.

    Rode one today and was immediately sold on it. Could not believe the power for a single cylinder 400. I'll be picking up my new Scramble 400X on Wednesday. After seeing yours, a tail tidy for sure. Probably upper and lower crash bars as well.

    As a new triumph, scrambler owner with about the same number of miles, it's really interesting to hear your perspective. I also have the issue of the immobilizer light randomly staying on. I have also had some stalling issues after I installed my Garmin zumo XT, it seemed to resolve itself after I disconnected it from the battery and hoping Triumph will help with that during my 600 mile service. The bike seems a little strained over 70 miles per hour, but I'm still in the break. In period and I'm planning on installing the 15 tooth front sprocket.from the speed 400 to help relax the bike at freeway speeds a bit. Like you, I also feel buzziness from the footpegs but think it's due to the loose spring action and hope to remedy it with either stiffer springs or more washers to stiffen it up. The wind blast is significant over 70 miph and i'm hoping the windscreen helps reduce that. I've also ordered the high front fender.and luggage rack for my bikepack trips through the Sierras every summer. I came from a Himalayan 411 and this bike is amazing with regards to speed and torque relative to that motorcycle. The suspension gearbox and clutch are awesome. Enjoy your bike brother and looking forward to more content.

    • @frankpinion4937
      @frankpinion4937 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think if you want to ride at over 70 mph you've got the wrong bike. It's essentially a trail/ lite middleweight adventure bike. As such it will be exceptionally nimble as it only weigh's 179 kg wet which is 21 kg less than your Himalayan you were comparing it too. The 2017 Himalayan I had stopped dead at 100 kph (60 mph), in fact it started shaking due to mixture being to lean due to emissions & being a carby model. The injected model went better but topped out around 120 kph or 70 mph flat out. This thing should be exceptional off road due to it's size/ weight but it's not a tourag or an F850GS or Tenere 700 so to expect it to cruise at 70 mph plus is a bit ridiculous.

      @johntoth9679 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @frankpinion4937 My 2020 Himalayan topped out at 75mph but when I changed the front sprocket was able to hit 80 mph. I only make one long trip annually and usually use the bike for beach and coffee runs so this bike will be fine. Looked at a Tenere but hearing how top heavy it was and the fact that it is geared more for off road led me to the Triumph since my "adventuring" is limited to gravel mountain roads. Totally agree if someone is looking for more of a touring bike then there are way better options than the scrambler. Same with someone looking for serious off-roading, much better bikes available for that than the scrambler. The Triumph is simply a light, nimble, and relatively quick little bike : )

    Excellent camera work! All I watch at the end of the day is TH-cam motorcycle videos. No has ever done such a thorough job of letting me see the bike as good as I can. As good as if I were there with the bike in person. I didn’t realize how cool that whole display is. You gave me me great perspective on this bike. Now help me decide between this, the Speed 400, the Z400, or one of the Husky 400s😂

    I’ve been spending a lot of time in my local Triumph dealership lately, arranging the purchase of the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200XE.
    I really like this little version of the Scrambler, and am seriously considering buying one.

    Looking forward to seeing how you fit this one out.

    also meant to mention in my 3 weeks so far no issues with stalling as some have had and only time the alarm light stayed on was when i started it too quickly, they said to turn the key and allow it to finish the pre-start sequence before you hit the ignition button. took that advice and never have had the alarm bell light on ever since.

This bike is incredibly nimble off road and that is why I bought it. It compliments my Tiger 800 perfectly. I currently have 650 miles on the bike and look forward to lots of back road and forest road riding. The mpg is amazing.

    This bike hits 75 with no problem. I have easily done highway speeds two up. My only complaint is I think the kickstand is too high and the bike does not lean enough when parked. I knocked mine over my accident. The bike has to be straight up and leaned slightly to the right to get the stand up. I would like to cut off about half inch. Very pleased with this bike. No regrets with purchase. I have had no stalling problems.

    Ive got a 400x and I love the thing. Only complaint is that the tac screams at me (blinking) around 6.5k rpm even after my initiak break in service. The service techs seemed to think it was just a setting i could change, but they couldnt find it. No ECU update that they applied during service did anything either (they said they applied whatever updates triumph had for rhem) and i just had the service done this morning. This results in me feeling uncomfortable taking jt over about 70mph due to the flashing tac. Otherwise, the thing is just sweet. Definitely a little smoother after initial service as well

  • @jeeperHK

    With less than 300 miles on it, how did you get past the rev limiter at 6500 rpm to get your speed up to 90+ mph?
    Also, I think the owner’s manual warns against using the handlebar-mounted on/off switch to shut the bike off, telling you to use the key instead.

    • @adamkaminski
      @adamkaminski 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Different types of motorcycles, one scrambler, other custom. You have to consider what you want vs what you need. If the streets of your city are good, you won't need to do off-road and you like custom bikes, go for Rebel 500. Also the legs position is very different, they stay forward in custom bikes. If you need more suspension comfort, some off-road eventually, something more versatile, much more agile, easy to handle, I would go to the scrambler (I actually ordered one, waiting for delivery). Legs position is like seated, slightly backward.
      If my experience serves to you: I had two custom bikes, I love the looks of them, but when I went to trail style bikes, the comfort was way superior, I can't go back now.
