    As an owner of scrambler400x , bike is awesome on highway and off road too…not meant for hard off roading but great on light trials. Under this segment this is the best option . 👍🏻

      That’s great feedback and good to hear you’re enjoying it! I think you’re right - it’s not a lightweight enduro because that’s not its purpose - most people just want to be able to take it on light trails and camping trips etc!

    I'm 20M and from India. This is my first bike, and I'm picking it up in a day or two. I can't wait!
    Here, the bike cost around ₹254,596 + ₹50,000 for insurance and registration. (That's about 4600 AUD + 900 AUD).

    Great review! I have ordered one. And I have driven motorcycles since 1978. I have also a BMW k1200LT and this Triumph bike will give me all that I miss on mine BMW. And I love singel sylinders. In the 70 and 80’s we had a lot off them. Keep the good work going ❤

    Thank you - really great review. Want to start riding again and had the usual suspects on my list ... all around 1000 and 1200 cc but I´m pretty sure I´m gonna upgrade the fun with downgrading the power with this beauty. 90 hp and 110 Nm is a lot to handle and what the 400X provides is certainly enough for most people.

    I’m hitting 2000km tomorrow and my 400x keeps getting better -post break in it seems to have more power now 130-140km on the highway no worries it’s like a heavy dual sport aka the dr650 feel to me torquey but more modern engine capable of touring with -I toured on my DR650 and will on my 400x-- I’ll upgrade the front sprocket one tooth to see how that is and I’ve got my rear and side rack coming next week with a proper skid plate and engine guards- no complaints except for ,my immobilized went off once I think that needs to get figured out or deleted --it’s shockingly well thought out great at nothing bike that’s good at everything--off-roading on gravel roads is great highways are great and it scoots around town nice and 27km\L with me cracking the throttle hard--like you say just go ride it --last comment been riding nearly 50 years this has all the power I need but it’s light but not squirrelly I’m crosswinds on the highway light like a KTM500-buy it and ride how ever you like you dont need to do anything to it to go have fun as an expert or a beginner -it’s the essence of scramblers perhaps -a bike most people can afford and have a blast on riding where ever and it looks amazing doing it

    I finally had a chance to test one out at a demo event, and my god - what a solid, affordable , FUN bike!!
    I have a speed twin 900 and T120 Black. I thought about scamblerizing my T120, but after the test ride on this thing … nah, I’ll be trading the T120 in. The weight difference for off-roading is what won me over in the end.

    Great review! Looks like it's around 180kg wet weight so 50kg lighter than the 1200. This would make it much easier to manage if you do adventure off road a bit and much easier to pick up. Chuck some knobby tyres on this and it could be a lot of fun.

    • @lifeofascrambler

    For what it's worth, I bought a Speed 400, and my only regret is not waiting another month to get the Scrambler, lol. Both are completely valid for a first bike (like mine) or a fun bike, like my salesman, lmao.
    The only thing I've noticed about BOTH is the gearing IS very short. A 15 tooth ktm 390 front sprocket is direct replacement. A 16t could present physical problems without rerouting stuff.

      Felt good to me, the tyres are wide enough that I felt comfortable at higher speeds and we had a fair bit of gusty wind blowing us around too - some smaller bikes suffer from a very twitchy / unbalanced feeling at higher speeds but I thought the 400x was pretty good - not quite as good as my 1200 but still very manageable.

    What are your thoughts on how this compares to the Honda SCL500?

    • @michaelwhitehouse5659
      @michaelwhitehouse5659 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's what I'm wanting to know as well. I definitely think the 400x looks better, it's cheaper to buy, it comes stock with all of the cool ( cosmetic ) accessories skid plate, handguards etc. But the Honda has about a 2" lower seat height ( 31" ) which is important to me for comfort at 5'8" short. It has a long proven reliable, bulletproof engine with very long service intervals. The Trans is geared more usable as well as the engine producing focused low end/midrange power; as opposed to the 400x focus on top end power. The SCL500 already has tons of available aftermarket accessories available too. In Kentucky where I live there aren't even any 400x bikes available to even checkout in person, the local triumph dealer does carry the 400 speed in-stock tho ( which I don't want ). Both the orange and the green SCL are available at multiple dealers near me...I do believe I'm going to go with the SCL500. The 400x is truly a damn good looking bike in videos and pics tho! The nearest ones to me I could have delivered even are minimum of 400 miles away... + a healthy shipping fee! Also the Honda only weighs about 20 pounds more, but also has about 8 more horse power with a smoother riding twin cylinder. Anyway, there's my 2 cents on it lol 😂

    • @pb9548
      @pb9548 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@michaelwhitehouse5659 thanks bro! The triumph certainly looks better, but the Honda reliability would be hard to pass up on. I have both near me fortunately. I just wish the Honda had better colors.

      Buy one and you will find out. Mine was about 8 months old when I traded it on a GS 1250. It was not bad in the gravel roads but so detuned as would get to 120 kms per hour ok but then they start running out of breath. Never got past 155 on level road flat out. Thet put very small inlet ports that give good torque at low end but a danger to shipping if on a trip and what to pass a car etc on highway.

      Very nice review, thanx a lot!
      As a German driver, I ought to be speed-oriented. And my 22 year old Tiger 955i is still ok for that in todays traffic, if needs be. To be honest, most of the time I am going around with about 65 mph, rarely much more except on the Autobahn.
      On the later, about 140 km/h is a good speed to ride along.
      So, the 400 x, which I have ordered, is perfectly suited for my profile even here in „speedy“ Germany. It is not really a speedy bike. But going along the beautiful small country roads in northern and Central Europe is exactly the speed range of the 400x.
      Anyway, save riding on whatever bike wherever,
      J.

      @sanjaysharma-jf8fv not at all. There are many bikes that run 21" wheels and are still very good on the road. Being a 400cc baked bike you are not going to have any difficulty in flocking the bike around to your hearts content. The royal Enfield suffers from fram geometry that makes it feel heavy and cumbersome, not the tires fault.
