btw, you could also use agar to replace gelatin. it's from seaweed, so it shouldn't be forbidden for any religion I can think of. Of course, if you're using agar, you need to dissolve it in hot water first before putting it into the mixture. In this case, since it was to be put into boiling mixture, you don't needs to dissolve it first. Be careful, though, since agar is firmer and stronger than gelatin, you need to use much less of it if youre replacing gelatin.
