Officials in Brampton say they're confident in the truck's performance and say more will be joining the fleet over the next two years. David Zura explains.

@@georgejones8784 Correct blame dumb Media and paranoid people for that misconception along with a dodgy company that lied about it being fully electric.
Are the electronic controls redundant? Hate to get stopped by a blown chip. Thinking a wrench won't get the truck moving or water flowing again if all electronically controlled.
CityNews, please fix your stereo audio. So many videos have this problem, this is something I would expect from a high school student not paid video editors.
I hope this is not charged indoors ! That huge battery would make a mess of the building, and the nearby equipment. Does the insrance company know it is being charged / stored indoors?
The first 500 gallons are "free". 🤣 By the way, the first EV fire truck in Canada (Vancouver?) was down due to a water tank leak. Not sure if it's back in service.
Imagine a future where only EV cars existed and somebody created a car that ran on a fuel that fueled up 100 times faster, that worked in the cold with almost no effort reliably, that didn't tear up the streets when used, that had 3 times the range, and didn't require the use of exceptionally damaging rare elements from the Earth to make, and could be made for a third the cost.. They would hail this as a technological achievement
No one would want it because it constantly spews out toxic gas, so you need special ventilation to prevent yourself from suffocation. Instead of just refueling it at home, you need to wage war in some far off country to get access to this fuel, transport it over, process it in a polluting refinery, transport it some inconvenient place in the city where you then have to pay “the man” to get his magical fuel. Who is going to build all the billions in infrastructure to move all his fuel around and store it in giant tanks around the city? And this fuel is so dangerous and volatile that you have to constantly have to follow safety protocols to prevent it from catching fire and exploding. And if someone, thousands of miles away, decided to start a war or something, suddenly you can’t drive any more because there’s no fuel? Who would want that? And let’s not forget the whole, “if more than a few million people start using this fuel, your ice caps will melt and parts of the planet will become uninhabitable, so, really, it should only be used for the ultra-rich or things will get out of control.”
“Tear up the streets when used” sounds like all the lifted pickup trucks that love coal-rolling. Never heard of an EV “tearing up the streets” since they’re emission-free and much quieter.
@@jonathancunningham8739 The only way to “modify an EV to be loud” is to install an external speaker, any idiot can do that regardless of what kind of car it is.

You got your headphones on backwards.
Hope it doesn't get cold in Ontario, those batteries don't last long.

It self may catch fire

Oh yeah order six of them at $1.7M when you don't know if they will work out. Should have ordered two and tried them for a few years first.

Start with the ambulances

Wow new fire engine
Guys just stop it is a plug in Hybrid not an EV.
We will see LOL!
