    What a great looking vehicle. I love that Lincoln took a different path than Caddy and Germans. This is soft American. Honestly no competitor out there for it. Lexus has nothing this big and luxurious. Beautiful American interior. Caddy should go to Lincoln interior decor class. Bravo.

      I totally agree! They really nailed this one. I'm in the Corsair this week and I find that it's as every bit as good as this Aviator, just smaller.

      Same, after Cadillac chased after the Germans 15 or so years ago that left Lincoln and Lexus being 'old style luxe', but then Lexus went all Predator-mouth leaving Lincoln with comfy but tired. Now in the past few years the exterior and interior styling is awesome and they basically have this segment to themselves.

    Build quality problems are not resolved as evidenced with my August 2020 purchase of Aviator Black Label Aviator GT hybrid. Day 2 after purchase: Check engine light on due to plug in charging failure, Day 8 after dealer returned vehicle: four paint blemishes, broken fender felt, broken rock guard. 2 Weeks: Lincoln phone app gives incorrect information and will not synchronize with phone (factory concierge gives no indication when problem will be fixed); 3 weeks and continuing: speedometer and HUD display will not appear as shown in Lincoln factory pictures. I have never purchased a vehicle with so many issues. I have never bought a vehicle that costs half as much as this one. This vehicle came close to being world class competition, but my experience misses the target. Hopefully there will be no further issues.

      My driver's side suspension started making noise a week after I left the dealership. The navigation system wouldn't boot up. It's been in the shop for 3 weeks waiting for parts. I've been driving a Nautilus loaner 😩

    • @cliffbraddock5099

      @@johnh8705 Looks like we get a bonus when buying the Lincoln Aviator: You get to drive a loaner Nautilus for a while, hoping that Lincoln will successfully restore your Aviator to what it should have been on day one. During month one of ownership, we put more miles on the Nautilus loaner than on the Aviator. Wow, two vehicles for the price of one! In my case, the $90K Aviator far exceeds the price of Nautilus. And guess what? My wife is now complaining that the interior lights don't come on some times when opening the door. You have to open multiple times. (oh dear, we may be driving the Nautilus again soon)

      @@fabulousprofound The Nautilus was the loaner and was reliable but outclassed in every way by the Aviator. Since the previous posting, we have learned how to trick the HUD to show the gages in the same format as depicted in the Lincoln brochures. The normal menu buttons won't deliver as described in the owner's manual, but we discovered that if you hit the start button, brake and menu in the right order, before starting the engine, then the HUD will display as shown in the Lincoln factory photos. Obviously this is a software failure that someday, Lincoln may remediate and download to its owners. The cabin light problem has not returned. The Aviator continues to be reliable and a nice ride and we hope the problem free driving continues.

    just took delivery of a 2020 aviator 202A and convenience package. absolutely wonderful. agree with the seat position being a tad high for the HUD display but it's not a big deal. i've looked at the Q7 and land rover velar and sport but for the price this is IT! quite frankly, at my age i'm looking for living room comfort in at least this one of my vehicles. (i still have my benz' and a porsche) and, the horses and torque are more than adequate for anything that i want this suv to do. great job, lincoln!

    I was going to purchase this vehicle but it has too many issues coming up from different people. I will just keep my 2013 Traverse LTZ that pretty much has everything this Aviator has with Navigation, 3 rows, bucket seats for 2 rows, sun & panoramic roof, and I also have DVD players in my headrest. Yeah I will just keep my truck that has been good to me for a very long time. Thanks for everyone comments, and hopefully your vehicles have been repaired by now especially for the price of this vehicle.

      It very well could be, I think I'm noticing a similar experience with the F-250 I have this week, it's either that or the massive off-road tires on the Tremor package.

    Was reading consumer reports and discovered Lincoln as a brand scored the lowest in reliability ratings... makes me sad because I really like the Aviator 😓

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While surveys like that are certainly important to look at, I always look at them with a grain of salt. Typically people are more likely to vocalize their complaints when something goes wrong than praise a product when it works properly. I understand that CR is basing that off other complaints they receive for other brands, but I wouldn't worry too much about it overall.

    • @BC08
      @BC08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but something as simply as infotainments glitches have tanked brand’s reliability in CR surveys in the past.
      The question is did Lincoln score poorly because something stupid like Sync, a supplier problems or for fundamental engineering problems?

      CR said the same thing about my 2008 Lincoln MKX but it's been the most reliable car I've ever had...14+ years later. Hoping the Aviator proves them wrong in the same way.

    I wish Lincoln would put a sedan on the RWD platform. Mercedes, BMW, and Audi all sell a lot of cars still because they build nice cars.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was hoping these new vehicles would be a rally for them to get some solid sedans into the mix, but as we just discussed on our episode on all the cars killed in 2020, both Lincoln sedans are dead after this year. If I were in charge over there, there would be some new sedans in the pipeline.

      @@PRNTestDrive Beautiful car. My parents are trying to decide between getting a Range Rover. Or the Lincoln Aviator. Please help!!! We currently have a 2013. BMW 320i with 112,211 miles on it. And it has a lot of problems and we need a new car. But we don’t need a massive SUV. We’ve had our fair share of those. We are preferably looking for a used car because the last time my parents tried buying a brand new car they were both involved in accidents. And it’s really only me that’s gonna be getting rides from them to and from school. Since my brother has his own car already. We want something that’s big but not too big and something with legroom. That’s something our current car doesn’t have and we want Bluetooth well better Bluetooth than our current car at least. Our current car has Bluetooth. But it SUCKS. My dad is 6’2 to 6’3 and I’m 6’1 to 6’2 both of us are very tall neither one of us fit in our current car so maybe this would be a good upgrade? We may also get a second car in another year or so since both of my parents will be starting their new jobs in Albany New York. We currently live in Massachusetts. Thank you!

    Would you take this over the Durango srt?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, mostly because I prefer my wallet not getting obliterated every time I get gas, but also the Aviator is in a completely different decade styling wise. The Durango is staying on the same generation for 2021, hopefully by 2022 FCA will revisit it and actually update it.

    • @phenix3st
      @phenix3st 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      PRN_TestDrive but as soon as you step on the gas all your worries go away and a big stupid smile comes on your face with the Durango. Also I think the interior and tech would last longer on the Durango. I’m very leery of the electronic door latches and other gimmicks like that over the long term. I’m currently looking at something in this range but with that he’ll cat Durango coming I might wait and see if I can stretch the money to get into that one. Just sucks it’s far off still. And there are some good deals on srt versions now

      They did the same with the Corsair also. I think if a manufacturer is going to go with a wheel design like this they should produce them for both sides. I wonder if any 2020 models actually take it into account.
