Thanks for the memories! A 1962 Dodge Lancer was my first "official" car. I bought it off a used car lot in East Texas back in 1966. Like yours, it had a three speed and was white with red interior. To make a hot rod out of it, I cut the muffler off. I had it topped out at 110 mph when I center punched a large bird with the front hood emblem. I had blood, guts and feathers splattered on the windshield like a bomb had gone off. Anyway, it was a fun car to drive, and I loved the slant six straight pipe exhaust rumble late at night on the streets of Garland Texas. I drove it to my first real welding job, welding aluminum with acetylene, I was sixteen at the time. Less than three years later I was a Marine in Viet Nam.
Wow! That is really cool! Sounds like a fun time.
Fixing chryslers with ford parts. Didnt Lee Ioccoca start that in the 90's? 😂😂😂
Great video. Thanks for contributing to Stone Soup. I guarantee she tastes better now.
Thanks! haha
Watching Stone Soup from Wrangell, Alaska.
You keep the valves adjusted on that old slant 6 and it'll run forever
That valve cover is cool
Thank you!
Love seeing you wear the roadside heater. Just in case it has to be put out of its misery. 🛠️
Just in case! Haha
It sounds worse than my Chambler running on 4 cylinders back from Power Tour last week. Vic is going to regret calling me out at NNN with that😎😀
XD it'll be a fun race!
@@thejunkyardnecromancer 😀
Race cars need a good horn ;) great work, thanks for helping out
Thanks haha
Keep it going, following the car through the builds.
LOVE THE VALVE COVER ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
How did I know that four letter cuss word was going to end up front and center? 🤬. Love the horn 🤘
XD It's the best word to have on the front of your vehicle!
You contributed quite a bit to the build, thanks for all you did!
“Stone Soup is cooking right along!”
You really ‘upped the game’ for everyone else with the valve cover! 💪
That ‘Sarlac Pit’ under the gas pedal sure is hungry! 😂
Fun video! Thanks for helping me cover up the center of the grill that I couldn’t straighten out.
I think… 🤔😂
Love the race switches, and that burnout! 😎
Love the jar of gas!
Maybe each channel here on out can fill the jar for the next channel as they work on it? 😉🤷🏼♂️👍
Haha. Yes! And thank you good sir!
@@thejunkyardnecromancer and P.S. thanks for flipping the headlight! It’s Wittys turn until it gets fixed! 🤔😉
It has the awesome Flintstone option to save on fuel. lol
XD yes! Exactly!
Your buildup to the burnout was hilarious. Well done. Ty!
Thank you!
🤣🤣 that burnout. Nice work dude. The valve cover is fantastic. The only problem is it makes everything else in there look terrible. “Real good!” I messed with the timing and replaced points and condenser. Also plugs. I hope somebody can get to the bottom of the coughing and spitting soon.
Thanks man! I figured you replaced those things since they were so clean haha. Now that I'm thinking about it, could the exhaust be clogged? Rat nest maybe?
@@thejunkyardnecromancer I had the same thought but it seemed to move air fairly well. Initially the exhaust flapper / warm up valve thingy was stuck fully closed, and I thought for sure opening that would fix it. But it only helped a bit.
@@DeadDodgeGaragedid you set the points by dwell or just by gap? The distributor could have a wore out points cam or messed up points plate or messed up/frozen advance mechanism. Its almost like the timing is too retarded under load like it's not advancing with rpm but the idle also sounds rough like the dwell could be erratic. Who knows it will be interesting to see everyone take their shot at making this car better bit by bit.
@@briang4470 I’m pretty sure I just eyeballed it. It sounded the same with the old points so I figured that wasn’t it and moved on. But it’s worth a second look.
I like your style…. Earned a sub, good work!
Thank you!
@51:27 😂👍
Awesome job
Thanks!
Yeah brakes are my job and it hasn’t got here yet
You've got your work cut out for you haha
I cant wait to see the finished car! Been following the build all the way, Great job!!!
Thanks!
Change this channel to instates. Build a new frame for it. What do you think me in that slap? New painting on it. I'm going from here I have a nice attitude towards the rims
Cool channel
Thanks!
Billings was a damn good tool brand nice video and them slant 6s was tough thanks for sharing my friend
Thanks!
They put long bolt so you could actually drop the steering wheel down for certain drivers Js
Oh! That actually makes a lot of sense.
I remember seeing Stone Soup on DDG but can't remember anything he did. Looking forward to your upgrades./ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\
He got it running
@@glennropiak1675 that rings a bell... Destroyed a carb. Lol
Kinda generous saying running. Nice to see the upgrades.
You wrecked it
Hahaha this hole thing was epic..
Thanks!
Great job also what is that, an H&K or S&W?

🥝✔️😁
Could the fibers be from weeds or some vegetation growing while it set for years?
Oh! Maybe! That could be it.
You notice a lot of the drag was the rear tire rubbing on the springs or did that get fixed in Spokane?
Nope. That is still an issue. The correct size wheels are in the trunk of the car, but the tires will need to be replaced before they go back on the car.
@@thejunkyardnecromancer Ya was trying to push it here and saw the tire rub and it all made sense.
To bad about the stud you broke off in the head, does not look like you fixed that!
I didn't fix it as I was running out of time. I was really bummed when it happened too. :(
Thankfully, it's not in a difficult spot to drill out. I feel kinda bad about passing that on to someone else.
You made it worse sad !
