- My new personal best on ThunderHill East despite traffic . The new GoPro Hero 9 has some sweet leveling tech, that gets pushed to the limit with the high lean angles we are running on track.

Showing up at a track, having fun and learning new skill and building trust in what modern tires can do is why we all are there. Please know that when faster riders fly by they did hundreds of laps already and try to do that safely even though it looks sometimes crazy from an outside perspective. I'm super happy you find this inspiring and hope that you had a really good time that will inspire you to come out more often and become a faster and safer rider !

Yep, it was fun and humbling experience at the same time. The challenge and the north start of becoming better is the reason we all do it.
I wish they still had the berm between turn 14-15 it felt better than having nothing there.....good riding I love having an open track no time limits.

Hello @mono moto. I have the same bike and I'm right at the 2:00 laptime barrier. Are you running slicks? I'm on Pirelli DOT. Also what are your Race Pro 3 settings for the computer settings? It might not be relevant if you're running slicks. But I'd be interested in comparing to me settings on DOT. Thank you.

That said dot tires are fast enough for sub 2 - it’s all about technique - happy to give some punters if we go on track together

Yes these things are rockets and it’s super fun to hold onto that acceleration. Less fun to throw Rear tires at it 😭

Sub 2 min is feels good 👍 I’m at the 1:57-1:58 range now but that’s pushing for me on my old 10 r1 with stock brakes and suspension
Sub 2 is pretty fast. This video was also done on stock brakes and suspension, but of course the bike is a bit younger.
What software can I use to show speed and laptime data? I have a cheap non GoPro and have been toying with getting either the 9 or the 360 max. I want to be able to use GPS to put lap times in my videos.

Those lap times were extracted from the GoPro videos. If you check my latest Videos you can see I added an AIM laptimer and improved my GoPro setup.
Question for you. Was this shot with boost? Curious since I now hypersmooth reduces frame size and horizon leveling uses the linear view.
Nope, it was 4k Linear + HL no boost.

You're faster almost everywhere else on that track than I am, buuut... I feel like maybe you're braking early for turn one, and the turn after the blind crest? But your lap times don't lie; guess I should start recording my sessions too. I'm on a slower bike too though so it makes sense that I can shut down later. Thanks for all of your uploads; some of them have been very helpful for me. See you at the track! I'll be chasing those 1:30's at Laguna 8/1-8/2 😁🤟 maybe see you there.

Do you has a gyrostabilizer installed at your GopRo9? If yes, which one, it looks like good.
No that is the cool thing about the Hero 9 it is almost like it is like on a gimbal , but it does everything you see in this video in Software!

@@MonoMoto it seems that levelling and hypersmooth make the action "slower" and less involving (same happens on MAX I use on track). Love that dashboard
Question how do you know your lap time without using a timer to track it?
Back when this was recorded I used the GoPro and Phone to capture laptimes. Have since an Aim Solo installed. Check out my channel and you'll see the latest videos on how that is installed and used on track.
Is the bike stock? Tuned? What performance upgrades? Seems to accelerate a bit quicker than my 2016. And I thought my bike was fast 😂
Stock bike with no performance upgrades. Well it has a Slip-On exhaust hahaha but else as stock as they come :)

Actually no it was an open trackday so no sessions just ride when you want
look how far you are from apex at turn 6, get closer to apex shoot out of there and hit 4th at 5:18 to get higher top speed, your engine braking into 9 where you should be braking much later and harder to hit 9, your just lingering between 8 and 9 waiting to hit the brake. Lastly, I feel that your one gear too low sometimes killing your roll speed, follow josh herrins line and some gear selection, I think you can do 1:50. He is not gunning it in the video but the reason for the higher gear is you will sustain higher roll speed through out the track, so less point and shoot more overall speed. If you don't try higher gear, my guess is it will be very difficult for you to further lower the lap time, your already hitting the ceiling. Great job none the less

Heya ! Thanks for all the great feedback. Yes I totally blew 6 in that lap and going in 6,7,8 to 4th should help to carry a bit more speed around there.
What do you mean by "roll speed" - Do you refer to the engine breaking of a lower gear ?
