Beet roots have a glycemic index (GI) score of 61, which is considered medium. On the other hand, the glycemic load of beetroots is only 5, which is very low. Consuming beets appears to be especially beneficial for people with diabetes. Beets lower the risk of common diabetes complications, including nerve damage and eye damage. They're also versatile, delicious, and easy to include in all kinds of recipes.Anyone who has low blood pressure or is currently taking blood pressure medication should speak with a healthcare professional before adding beets or beetroot juice to their diet. Beets contain high levels of oxalates, which can cause kidney stones in people with a high risk for this. Since beets are high in the compound oxalate, eating too many can contribute to kidney stone formation. Rather than boiled or roasted or cooked or canned or juiced or powdered form beet roots should be consumed in Raw form to get benefits of its nutrients. Beet kwas:Deep ruby in color, pleasingly tart and salty in taste, beet kvass is a healthful, probiotic tonic that delights both eye and palate. Beets are, of course, chock full of nutrition on their own; they are rich in folate, manganese, copper, and potassium, as well as antioxidants and various anti-inflammatory compounds. Someone up above (but NOT the doctor) recommended 1,000 mg of beet root, so it is worth finding out as it would be so much easier. I used to love juiced green apples, celery and beets with a chunk of peeled ginger!! Oh yummy, I wonder if my tummy would allow for that again as I have issues which basically keep me on a soup’n’smoothie diet. Sometimes I do allow for food, but it really isn’t worth it for me. Funny thing though, I really do not miss food much at all anymore. I have a few protein smoothies and soft foods and occasionally soup. I may just try a chilled soup in my Vitamix - with the beets, celery, green apples and a chunk of peeled ginger!!
Listen to the video again, the carbs are only 9 for one cup of beets. You can always start with 1/4 and work your way up? Yes because that isn't true juice. When you juice something the sugars are concentrated and the body sees no difference in table sugar, honey or concentrated sugars from juiced fruits and veggies. We need the fiber in the plant to help control the carbs in that plant. I hope this helps.
I'm never sure if the ones in the deli have added sugar, so, are canned and bottled just as good as fresh? I'll have to check the freezer section, I don't recall ever seeing frozen ones.

Not sure who you heard that beets are high in carbs. The doctors just explained that one cup of beets is 12 carbs, but due to fiber it comes down to 9 carbs. Are you in need of being carb free completely?? Just curious 🧐 as I always am when I hear conflicting information. May you find the foods that do well for your body, and enJOY your day!! 😊

On his other videos and he may have mentioned even in this one. Sugar in foods is the best we can ask for, as it will have other some fiber, vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants and the sugar is NOT processed. So yes to small amounts of sugar. Plus, me mentioned how thanks to the fiber 1 cup of beets is only 9 carbs. Beets are great as they truly can be used in so many ways - roasted, boiled, pickled, shredded into salads, and much more I am sure. He DID mention that if you juice the beet it may have a higher content of carbs, so if you try it just check you sugars before and after. Hope this helps.
