    Used this with a foot long 1 inch diameter concrete bit. The drill itself handles it like a champ, but it makes even the 6 amp hour batteries scream for mercy!

    I have mostly Ridgid Tools and it all has been very good to me. I know some guys who are not having very much luck with the tools at all but I treat all my stuff like crap and it keeps coming back for more. When you couple that with a lifetime service agreement when registering online, there's really no reason to buy any other tool even if you are a professional trades person.

    I was between this octane hammer drill and the Milwaukee gen 3 but since I have more ridgid I’ll stick with ridgid there awesome used it today to mix a 5 gallon bucket of concrete mix it was impressive with my 9ah 🔋

    High torque hammer drill leaderboard: Metabo and Ridgid tied for 1st place at 1,300 in lbs. I believe Hitachi is next with 1,240 in lbs. Barely behind that is the AEG fusion with 1,239 in lbs. Down from there we have the Milwaukee gen2 and gen3 both at 1,200 in lbs. Next down is Makita at 1,090 in lbs. DeWalt has to be up there too but they don't use in lbs to measure torque so we can only guess. I think that covers all the drills over 1,000 in lbs

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey b1. Yes, I've had issues with the chuck coming loss offer. Its actually frustrating, and I've reached out to Ridgid about this issue. It happens mostly on the impact mode.

  • @donnysanner342

    These are nice drills no doubt , decent power , reasonable price and well thought out for the most part....however , they do not seem seem to be able to put up heavy duty all day bashing on the job site. I’ve seen 2 of these drills give up the ghost in the last 2 weeks. I cannot say for sure exactly what happened......however the problem seems to be in the trigger....

  • @vongacoc

    Yo TRZ did you happen to notice the electronic brake making a loud noise when you let of the trigger on speed 2 under no load? It seems to be the only bad reviews posted about this drill in the HD reviews. My Brand new one made it I even exchanged it thinking it was defective but the other 2 did the same thing. It sounds like a knocking or grinding.

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's up Adam. Na, but the issue that I have is the chuck is constantly loosening on me. Its drive me nuts. Haven't had any knocking sounds though

    • @advanders3705
      @advanders3705 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ToolReviewZone it loosens on you even under load when using it? Because Ridgid said people are complaining about the chuck loosening but it's because they are using it under no load and it won't do it under load.

    • @ToolReviewZone
      @ToolReviewZone  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@advanders3705 yeah bro its under load. I was the first to ever review this tool and mentioned it to them. They said it was because the brake stops the chuck to quickly when it stops, but still doesn't make sense when its going through concrete

    • @advanders3705
      @advanders3705 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToolReviewZone ya that's what they told me too, but they said it shouldn't do that under load. I like the promo they have for the driver and impact and get 2 tools free for $350 but I returned it and got the Milwaukee driver impact kit that comes with a recip saw and the rolling pack out for $450. The Milwaukee does the same noise on speed 2 but not as loud. Milwaukee said it will work it's self out since it's a brand new tool the magnets are still trying to get seated correctly. Im thinking about returning the Milwaukee kit and going back for the Ridgid deal because I already have a couple Ridgid batteries and tools and the LSA is such a good deal with the tools but that Ridgid hammer drill scares me. I'm torn brother.

      This one runs on the OCTANE platform which send more power to the drill when needed. It's also a smart battery which has an app and many different functions. Many could care less about the app, but the power is definitely noticeable. Also helps conserve power as it only uses what it needs
