@@ZeePirateMan I’m not sure about that, but I think the Ridgid has better ergonomics than the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee is forward heavy, but the Ridgid is just very well balanced.
@@DiligentDave1966 They're great tools! I've been using AEG (which I'm sure you know is the same thing as Rigid) since 2005 when I was a first year apprentice, that first drill I had was an 18Volt blue hammer drill that was made in Germany and is still the same battery slot as the new batteries use!
@@ZeePirateMan I wasn’t really fond of the subcompact combo, but the high torque hammer drill combo is definitely legit. By the way, I sent you a couple of notifications.
On 12/29/23 , I got the rigid hammer drill, r86115k , there is a pause/delay when I first press the trigger, I read the literature and it says to press the trigger to turn the drill on, so maybe this is some kind of safety thing or whatever, I am not a fan of it, but I am retired so I will just have to get used to it, I'm loving the quality so far and the lifetime service agreement is hard to beat, I have owned dewalt for decades but having 2 drills fail in 5 years, both of which are almost 300 bucks each, kept inside a spare room, never dropped or abused, and after the 3 year warranty expired, I'm starting to not like dewalt anymore, we'll see how this new rigid does, I'm in west central Florida by the way, I noticed the chicken walking behind you, I'm wondering if you are in Florida as well, happy new year
That is ridgid’s integrated soft start When using tools like the jigsaw or maybe the angle grinder it is Good to have gradual acceleration but I agree on an impact drill let me handle it… I got the drill and case but I have the impact without the mode selector. I’ll use my Impact wrench on the big stuff! Hope your new year is going good from Texas
The drill will perform even better with the 8 amp battery because that battery has 21700 cells. I’m hoping the kit goes on sale for Black Friday. Either Ridgid or Flex.
@@ASK24777 Dammit, I missed out on that deal, and it's not available now that I actually need a new cordless hammer drill & circular saw! There's a Ridgid cordless drill & circular saw for $199, but it's not a hammer drill. Also, Home Depot wants $349 for a Milwaukee hammer drill + circular saw. I have this set, it’s pretty great, but the oil impact drivers are king. Rigid made thei stealth force oil impact and it was supreme. Anyone out the know why rigid stopped making their oil impulse?
mine has a slight wobble. been heavily using it and it doesn't affect it. co worker had a milwaukee fuel and the rigid felt stronger and the battery lasted longer
@@kobragangbit I’m glad you like your Ridgid. I exchanged the first one I got, and the second one has almost no wobble. I don’t think it’s more powerful than the Milwaukee, but it’s definitely a legit power tool. I hope you registered your Ridgid for the LSA. That provides great peace of mind in case something goes wrong with it.
As "The General Expert" It is not practical to compare a 12V tool against an 18v tool as done in this video. Professionals and DYI's want Apples to Apples comparison. It is good to see Rigid stay relevant in this competitive tool market. Makita and Rigid both manufacture good reliable tools.
Idk, you didnt really drive the screws at enough of an angle. Next time see if you can drive them at 90 degrees so they go off screen into the neighbors yard.
RIDGID does not stand up to their Life Time Warranty if they don't want to. I bought a combo kit 13 years ago before the registration LSA but still life time and it had 24v XLi batteries, they will not charge so I tried to get them to replace them and was told they were not registered, I register everything from toasters to tools, and they don't make 24v anymore. I have 3 power tools that collect dust because RIDGID doesn't care about their long time customers.
Currently comes with 2 free tools at Home Depot. The discounted price with the most expensive free tools selected comes to $184. Regular price is $379. Now’s the time to buy it 👍
I’m no expert, but I have tested the drill against Dewalt, Milwaukee and Flex. The Ridgid is definitely legit. It’s also very comfortable to use.
I'm pretty sure these drills ar reskinned Milwaukee Fuel!

Probably because they were better value than Milwaukee! TTI has to protect them at all cost.
Every impact driver I’ve seen on display has a lot of collet wobble. How is yours?

They are dewalt impact bits
