So when my sibling had their first baby, I told them that I wasn't taking my glasses off. So, when the baby got older and started to reach for my glasses, I moved their hand away and said no. I made the mistake of hitting my mom- once. I was probably three years old. Mom was 5' 7", and as strong as an average male her height and weight. She backhanded me clear across the room, using a martial arts strike properly called the "B***h slap." Nice form- she reached across, touched her opposite shoulder, pushed it back to wind up her torso, then unloaded. She must have picked that up from my sperm donor. As I was lying there on the floor crying, she glared at me and said "I'm a hit-back doll! You hit me, I hit you back harder!" And yes, my narcissist of a mom used to proudly tell this story as an example of what a wonderful parent she was. Just like she did with the story of how, when toddler me wet on the floor, she literally mopped the floor with me and left me in those wet stinky clothes all day to "teach me a lesson."
Nanny story - I'm sorry, but not only should she have quit after being pushed down the stairs, she had grounds to sue for any injuries. Parents being so negligent toward their children is a form of abuse.
Absolutely! I was a "Manny" to a family that had 9 children. The mom was 5 foot nothing and the Dad was over 6 foot 3 inches and was built like a linebacker. These kids were so well behaved, that even the set of 6 yr old twins were good as gold. Mom had a look that could peel armor and Dad was a Veteran and a current active ANG member. I'm was in the Army at an overseas posting and was sitting in a base cafe, wearing civilian clothing chatting to a couple of young wives I knew when a newly arrived warrant officer's wife butted into our conversation. She started talking down to the two young wives and demanding that they treat her with the dignity due to her husband's rank. I asked her if she could salute? When she asked why, I pointed out that when her husband met me, he was required to salute and therefore, by her own reasoning, she should also salute me. Strangely, she left the conversation very quickly and avoided me after that. 😁
Story 4: I'm retired military and this kind of thing happens with family mambers all the time. Service members have to navigate it with care because the military is VERY family oriented. You can get a dishonorable discharge for have an affair, spousal abbuse, child abuse of any kind determined by professional counseling. With a spouse it's easier. You can go to your command, be totally transparent about wanting a divorce and why, they'll have your back. If you have a child that's messing up it can be nearly impossible formit not to come back on the service member in some way. In severest cases pretty much the only thing you can do to save yourself is retire, send your kid off to private school far away, or send them to live with relatives in another state/country if you can't correct their behavior. It's definitely easier being single in the military.
That Karen in service is what we called a depenapotamus. Her husband also lost his career for failure to control his dependents. It can be a career ending charge for many officers and NCOs.
Story Three: I am AMAZED that OP resisted the urge to say to the Karen "Clearly you have a SCREW LOOSE, I don't know how you want me to address your problem. May I suggest a qualified psychologist?"
You know who else wears someone else's rank? Secretaries. We had an older lady working for the Colonel who we called General Martha because she thought she was the boss of all the enlisted people working at the base clinic. Come to find out, she was something like a GS-3 or GS-4, which is pretty low ranking for a civilian employee. She was a deeply unpleasant person.
Retired military here and, yes, it happened. Not often and not just with officers wives but enlisted wives also. I did know one sergeant that was severely reprimanded because of his wife's actions and they were both returned home from an overseas location on short notice. In the military you, the military member, are responsible for the conduct of your dependents. Their actions reflect on you.
Story 5: I’ve babysat for families like that (not 7 kids, more like 2-3) but either not being able to discipline and give them anything they want. Families have been put on a cautious list for other babysitters, some have even got black listed.
I'm one of six boys, no girls. My mum wanted a daughter, but ended up with half a football team. I'm 67, so this goes back abit. If we threw a tantrum! Even in public. My mum would say, " if you don't stop crying, I'll give you something to cry about. " And yes by the time we stopped crying, we had forgotten what we had been crying about in the first place! Times change.
Karen: Shoves a screw in OP's face. OP: "The screws are over there." Karen: "I know that!!!" OP: "So what do you need help with?" Karen: "You tell me!!!" What kind of expert do we need to call in order to analyze this interaction?
Actually, somebody from the hardware department might be able to show her how to use the screw gage, measure the length, and locate a matching product. A wall with 1000 different screws on it can waste hours if you don't know how to do those things. Not to mention that in most of those big box stores certain types of screws are not on display, but rather in cabinets. It really helps to shop the store online so you can find a match and find the bay they are in.
My mom asked my paternal grandmother what burial arrangements she wanted. Grandma Mae grinned at her and said, "Leave me until I get stiff, thread me, and screw me into the ground." This was the same Grandma Mae who disappeared without a trace on her 80th birthday- only to reappear at 2 in the afternoon the next day, drunk as a lord, in the company of a hot 50 year old she'd picked up at the local bar. "It was my birthday, and I decided to celebrate."
As a veteran, yes there are many spouses out there who think they carry the rank of their husbands/wives. As a civilian I was listening to a woman, on a military base, brag about ordering enlisted around while her husband was an officer. I looked her straight in the eyes and asked, "What rank was your husband?" "He retired as a colonel." "And what rank did that make you?" I asked. She shut up, gave me a dirty look and then told everyone I wasn't a team player.
Remember the story where OP was a US civilian living in Japan and happily married to a Japanese man? Military Karen and her pals accused OP of being a "dependapotaumus" and cheating on her military husband with some random Japanese guy. It backfired on Karen and her pals spectacularly.
S5: Hopefully after all that, mommy dearest will keep up the punishment. But mommy’s favorite will always know how to weasel his way out since it’s all she ever taught him.
Story 4 - I love how Karen tried to use her husband’s military rank to get her way only to have it completely blow up in her face. Now she’s divorced and has to carry that shame with her. Serves her right
Bitches like her are a disgrace to their spouses, the people who're actually doing the work, serving their country, and even risking their lives. Treating others like shit and demanding free shit, even if I was never enlisted, these types of people make me genuinely angry.
Story 3: I thought that she was presenting the screw she had lose, it had fallen out and she wanted someone to put it back so her long suffering brain would work again
Story 1: Ma'am, why don't you look each of these waiting customers in the eye and explain why you think you are so much more important than all of them?
Story 5 - OP should have made sure that they talked to the father directly, to insure he got the whole story, and threatened to sue the family for injures if it happened again.
20:20 "did he do that?!" -OP: "NO! GUESS WHAT! the wildest thing happened!! Some random kid appeared out of NOWHERE bit me and then just disappeared again!!" Wow... This woman should not even had ONE kid 🤦🏾♂️
If your SPOUSE is in the military, the one thing you absolutely do not do is try to use your spouse's rank on military personnel, regardless and especially if your spouse is a medium-high ranking officer or NCO. It WILL cause you and/or your spouse serious problems. These include, but are not limited to, the spouse being denied on-base privileges including shopping at the exchange, being removed from on-base housing (if you are in it), your spouse losing rank, your spouse being restricted to the base and given extra duties after hours and your spouse being transferred to various very undesirable duty stations which may or may not allow spousal accompaniment. It's a very serious breach of protocol which will be punished if you're dumb enough to push it.
TBH, an Army major is not all that high ranking. A major is an O-4 (ranks from O-1 to O-9, with O-9 being the highest rank). A colonel on the other hand is an O-6, just below flag rank.
In the Army, a Major is two ranks lower than a Colonel. So, Mrs. Major's Wife Karen has no power over 2nd LT. Belle's boss, the Colonel. Just for those not knowing ranks.
I work for a large home improvement retailer. We have 125 employees and yet I somehow manage to do 10% of our annual sales. When a wild Karen threatens to get me fired I look them dead in the eye and say "Do your best." and walk away. My boss knows that if he fires me I cross the street to our competitor and take 10% of the business and half his bonus with me. I like my job, my boss, my customers and they like me. You don't succeed by yourself, it's a team effort, and Karen is not playing on your team.
Story 5: That kid may be young but he needs to be disciplined by his parents. It's not the Nanny responsibility. I would have walked out after the first sign of violence
Story 3: my job is the same as the OP’s online order fulfillment, we go about the store grabbing everything from the single pack of lightbulb orders to, I am building an entire deck or renovating an entire bathroom package. Lots of moving, lots of lifting. As such we lack the more specific details of any department, we may pick up on some things (hardware is not one of them due to the sheer amount of stuff) but we do know where everything pretty much is and can point the way in a heartbeat. I’ll help a customer lift something or get something down but I always call or point them to a department associate if they need something more than a ‘Where is this?’ Or ‘can you get this down for me?’ I have thankfully never had to deal with an angry Karen waving a screw in my face.
Yes, it's easy to tell when an employee is fulfilling an order. They have a cart or basket with stuff in it. I sometimes ask them which aisle I need to look in, but that's it. They don't even need to stop walking.
I suspect the good Major realized how much of a liability Karen was to his Career because after she was ripped a new Waste Disposal Orifice and left the Office like a Bat out of HELL, the good Major was called in and also ripped a new Orifice and told he either gets her under control or you're Career is toast...at which point he knows she's a liability and called a Divorce Lawyer... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣
"are you going to help me or not, I've been standing there forever" Every time I see it, I am baffled, bewildered, wondering what exactly anyone would expect to happen when they just stand around not saying anything or making any meaningful attempt to get the attention of the person they want help from. Do they really think just thinking real hard will send a telepathic signal? No, wait, that would mean they're capable of thought.
First Story: as soon as someone who isn't a regular valued customer says some dumb shit like I'm so shocked that even a valued customer such as myself blah blah blah This is when the employee should say you know what you're right and as soon as a valued loyal regular customer comes into the store I'll jump right on helping them.... Until then, line forms up behind that guy... 😂
That Karen definitely overstepped her bounds. Military dependents are GUESTS of the military. As such they have no rank or authority and can be kicked off base at any time. Their spouses are responsible for their conduct and can even be demoted if the offense is severe enough.
The Dependapotamus is a subspecies of Karen commonly found in military environments. Karen aggression ratings generally proportionate to spousal rank and typically at a higher level than the common Karen. Aggression also sharply increases the smaller the victim (measured by rank).
I've heard the military wife's story and the computer repair stories before and they're just a delight to listen to again. The supervisor wasn't the only one with a huge smile.
I freaking love seeing fall leaves and autumn stuff in November instead of Christmas stuff! I love the holiday but I’m gonna get burnt out if I see too much off it this soon
It would have gotten him fired, but that Op needed to look that Karen in the face and said: "SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT MA'AM, WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS THAT YOU NEED ME TO NOT JUST TRY, BUT ACTUALLY SUCCEED, IN FINDING, PULLING OUT , AND THEN GIVING YOU THAT NICE , LONG, HARD SCREW YOU ARE LOOKING FOR??? AND THEN YOU WANT ME TO CHARGE YOU FOR THE SCREW?? ALL I CAN SAY IS I'M SORRY MA'AM I DON'T KNOW IF THAT FITS MY JOB DESCRIPTION...." AGAIN THE OP WOULD HAVE GOTTEN FIRED FOR IT , BUT MY GOD, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORTH IT!!! HE WOULD BE A LEGEND AT THAT JOB THAT WOULD BE TOLD TO ALL THE NEW HIRES FOR CENTURIES TO COME!!! AND CAN YOU JUST PICTURE THE KAREN'S FACE IF HE WAS ABLE TO GET THAT WHOLE PARAGRAPH OUT???? WITHOUT BUSTING INTO LAUGHING!!! LIKE IF HE JUST SAID ALL THAT WITH A COMPLETELY DEAD ASS SERIOUS FACE!! MY GOD...🤣🤣🤣🤣🕺🏼🕺🏼
I really like the fall background in the video with the fallen fall leaves on the ground, and the little house with the chimney smoking. It actually relaxed me while listening and following along with the stories. Can't wait to see the winter background in a few months.
Story 2 - When Karens demand for people to do there job that’s Karenese for ‘serve me and only me when I tell you to, don’t bother with anyone else less important than me’
Regarding the last story, I live in Columbus GA, and witnessed this one. It was ridiculous... this was before they moved the Best Buy from where it was near the highway.
You want me to do my job and answer every phone call??? Not a problem!!! Copy that Rodger dodger! And, phone's ringing ! got to put you on hold! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
For story #5, if a demon child bites me or pushes me down the stairs and the parents refuse to properly discipline them, I'd just quit and I'd warn my agency and nanny friends to not work for them.
I'm surprised one of them didn't punch him when he hit them. This is typical in large families. Older siblings teach their younger ones how to behave. It was mom's fault she prevented that.
They were. The N-slur is one of a scant few things that is not under 1A protections and will get you put in the clink for hate crimes. The store will need to adopt a policy for customers to check their bigotry at the door before they get served.
Actually when a new register shows up it does make sense for people who are at the back to move forward because that's the whole point of opening up a new registers to make the line shorter
Nanny story: Those children were not homeschooled. They weren't schooled at all and are an insult to every family that truly educates their children outside of a traditional school. I've known homeschooling families, and their children were polite, well-spoken, and very knowledgeable. Public or private school kids could not hold a candle to them. I've also had a public school student who had been "homeschooled" by a mom who gave him one worksheet a day the previous year. He was far behind his peers, and just a nasty person.

@@freethebirds3578So you think racists don’t exist? You are obviously not from the South.
@@BPJD2004 The racists I've seen weren't necessarily from the South. From the Left, yes, When I did live in the South, (most of my life) I never met anyone as racist as this. Southerners I met were mostly very nice. Too bad you've never met them.
Story 2 - Hey Karen told OP to ‘Do your damn job and to answer every call’ and he did, so she can’t really bitch about OP ‘doing his job’.
The autumn thumbnail is amazing 🍂
I'm was in the Army at an overseas posting and was sitting in a base cafe, wearing civilian clothing chatting to a couple of young wives I knew when a newly arrived warrant officer's wife butted into our conversation. She started talking down to the two young wives and demanding that they treat her with the dignity due to her husband's rank.
I asked her if she could salute? When she asked why, I pointed out that when her husband met me, he was required to salute and therefore, by her own reasoning, she should also salute me.
Strangely, she left the conversation very quickly and avoided me after that. 😁
Just because you can have kids. Does not mean you should get them.
Applicable to much. Just because you can do a thing, doesn't mean you should or have to do a thing.
And keep having them. Over and over.
Love the background! Thanks darkfluff for uploading everyday, its always a highlight :)
I was about to say the same thing! Love the autumnal feel. :)
OP: "The screws are over there."
Karen: "I know that!!!"
OP: "So what do you need help with?"
Karen: "You tell me!!!"
What kind of expert do we need to call in order to analyze this interaction?
She needs an anger management class.
Grandma Mae grinned at her and said, "Leave me until I get stiff, thread me, and screw me into the ground."
This was the same Grandma Mae who disappeared without a trace on her 80th birthday- only to reappear at 2 in the afternoon the next day, drunk as a lord, in the company of a hot 50 year old she'd picked up at the local bar. "It was my birthday, and I decided to celebrate."
"Well, based on the evidence presented to me, it seems you have a screw loose ma'am."
As a veteran, yes there are many spouses out there who think they carry the rank of their husbands/wives.
As a civilian I was listening to a woman, on a military base, brag about ordering enlisted around while her husband was an officer. I looked her straight in the eyes and asked, "What rank was your husband?"
"He retired as a colonel."
"And what rank did that make you?" I asked.
She shut up, gave me a dirty look and then told everyone I wasn't a team player.
Says the leech who isn't even a part of the team.
@@michaelgum97 Que?
@@JasonON
Sorry, I was referring to her as the leech.
@michaelgum97 She definitely walked around with Karen vibes. I dont think anyone had ever told her the truth before, according to her reaction.
That last story was the most hilarious I've heard this year!
IKR I laughed so hard when she they sent 2 black officers.
Story 1 - OP handled that beautifully. Well done.
I wonder at which age did she use timeout chair for her older children?
Story 4 - I love how Karen tried to use her husband’s military rank to get her way only to have it completely blow up in her face. Now she’s divorced and has to carry that shame with her. Serves her right
Bitches like her are a disgrace to their spouses, the people who're actually doing the work, serving their country, and even risking their lives.
Treating others like shit and demanding free shit, even if I was never enlisted, these types of people make me genuinely angry.
Story 3: I thought that she was presenting the screw she had lose, it had fallen out and she wanted someone to put it back so her long suffering brain would work again
I can only hope Joe gets a black judge at his hearing for making threats against people's lives. That would be *chef's kiss*
And in jail he gets a black inmate!
Then he'll be more broken than his computer!
That last story was priceless! 😂😂😂
Story 1: Ma'am, why don't you look each of these waiting customers in the eye and explain why you think you are so much more important than all of them?
Story 3 - I love how OP’s manager completely ignores Karen like she wasn’t there. 😂😂😂
Agree about loving the timely scenery changes!
Malicious Compliance is my very favorite Dark Fluff topic
Story 5 - OP should have made sure that they talked to the father directly, to insure he got the whole story, and threatened to sue the family for injures if it happened again.
20:20 "did he do that?!"
-OP: "NO! GUESS WHAT! the wildest thing happened!! Some random kid appeared out of NOWHERE bit me and then just disappeared again!!"
Wow...
That last story always puts a big smile on my face. It always seems to get better the farther you go into it
I work for a large home improvement retailer.
I love the “Belle” stories. Please keep them coming!
Story 5: That kid may be young but he needs to be disciplined by his parents. It's not the Nanny responsibility. I would have walked out after the first sign of violence
Omg, I nearly choked on my breakfast on Story 6 when the cops came, with a mouth full of food and an unvoluntary laugh escaped.
I’ll help a customer lift something or get something down but I always call or point them to a department associate if they need something more than a ‘Where is this?’ Or ‘can you get this down for me?’
I have thankfully never had to deal with an angry Karen waving a screw in my face.
Yes, it's easy to tell when an employee is fulfilling an order. They have a cart or basket with stuff in it. I sometimes ask them which aisle I need to look in, but that's it. They don't even need to stop walking.
@@BigGuy8059
Yeah, I sometimes did that when I filled online orders as a part of my previous job.
Story 4: Gotta love the dependas!
Love the new autumn background!
😄😁😆😅😂🤣
"are you going to help me or not, I've been standing there forever"
Every time I see it, I am baffled, bewildered, wondering what exactly anyone would expect to happen when they just stand around not saying anything or making any meaningful attempt to get the attention of the person they want help from. Do they really think just thinking real hard will send a telepathic signal? No, wait, that would mean they're capable of thought.
Story 2: I do hope OP come back and tell us how long he has been keeping that Karen on hold whenever she called back again.
First Story: as soon as someone who isn't a regular valued customer says some dumb shit like I'm so shocked that even a valued customer such as myself blah blah blah
This is when the employee should say you know what you're right and as soon as a valued loyal regular customer comes into the store I'll jump right on helping them....
5th story - there's somethng wrong with that kid. Temper tantrums are one thing, but a full-on rant and wreck like that is something else.
The Dependapotamus is a subspecies of Karen commonly found in military environments. Karen aggression ratings generally proportionate to spousal rank and typically at a higher level than the common Karen. Aggression also sharply increases the smaller the victim (measured by rank).
Story #1---OP's response was PERFECT!
I've heard the military wife's story and the computer repair stories before and they're just a delight to listen to again. The supervisor wasn't the only one with a huge smile.
A 2 year old for sure should know right from wrong. Heck, an 8 month old should know better.
Not enough classic Sesame Street apparently.
Being pushed off the stairs and keep working there with parents with that attitude....dont put yourself at that risk
I freaking love seeing fall leaves and autumn stuff in November instead of Christmas stuff! I love the holiday but I’m gonna get burnt out if I see too much off it this soon
All I see in November are storms, heatwaves and sultry days with high humidity.
That last one! I'd love to see that CCTV with audio! Eat it Joe!!
Love the autumnal landscape Fluff! Tell Steve-o he did good. 😍
Wonder how long it'll be before he pitches the timeout chair through a window, since Mom didn't start the discipline soon enough.
Story 5 - This is why I will never be a nanny or deal with kids.
Still a confirmed bachelor and will die a confirmed bachelor. Any kids I have will be the furry kind.
@ Ditto, though for me it’s ‘confirmed bachelorette’.
It would have gotten him fired, but that Op needed to look that Karen in the face and said:
"SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT MA'AM, WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS THAT YOU NEED ME TO NOT JUST TRY, BUT ACTUALLY SUCCEED, IN FINDING, PULLING OUT , AND THEN GIVING YOU THAT NICE , LONG, HARD SCREW YOU ARE LOOKING FOR???
AND THEN YOU WANT ME TO CHARGE YOU FOR THE SCREW??
ALL I CAN SAY IS I'M SORRY MA'AM I DON'T KNOW IF THAT FITS MY JOB DESCRIPTION...."
AGAIN THE OP WOULD HAVE GOTTEN FIRED FOR IT , BUT MY GOD, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORTH IT!!!
The nanny story reminds me of what my dad taught me about raising my own children:
Train your kids, or your kids will train you.
Story 5: Push me down the stairs and bite me? I would have quit on the spot, and sued the family into bankruptcy.
Was the child a reincarnation of John Wayne Gacy?
Oh my God!I looooove when there's a change of scenery ❤
What’s the point of leaving a voice mail and complaining if you aren’t going to leave your contact details to phone back? I hate peoples that do that
There are 6 children older than the 3 year old with a temper. I am amazed they are not all the same. I assume none f them were disciplined either.
5. One was younger.
I'm surprised one of them didn't punch him when he hit them. This is typical in large families. Older siblings teach their younger ones how to behave. It was mom's fault she prevented that.
Story #5: I would have just quit but I would have went off like a twister in Texas after being pushed down the stairs!!
The last story had me in stitches, Joes mind must have short circuited. I was hoping the police were also people of colour.
Yep, two black officers dragged his bigoted ass outta there.
They were. The N-slur is one of a scant few things that is not under 1A protections and will get you put in the clink for hate crimes. The store will need to adopt a policy for customers to check their bigotry at the door before they get served.
Final Story - Wow, just… wow.
"Are you gonna help me or not?"
"Not."
Malicious compliance is my favorite!
Actually when a new register shows up it does make sense for people who are at the back to move forward because that's the whole point of opening up a new registers to make the line shorter
Screw waving story:
You have to help me!
Sorry, I cannot help you as I am not a licensed psychologist.
Story 5: she nannied the mother. That's such a power move.
Story 5: Never, ever allow anyone to commit violence against you...or your charges aka the other kids. Period.
I still love Bell's stories.
Don't remember seeing this background before. I like it.
Story 2: Brilliant.
Glad you all appreciate my new background designs ❤️🙌🙌
That last one is hilarious xD
*Giggles through the first 5 stories before ABSOLUTELY BUSTING a gut laughing my head off at story 6*
I really like your new background. Very colorful and quite pretty!
Thank you again❤
Ooo...I love the new background!
Now days, parents give their kid a “Time Out.” Oh, Hell Naw!! My Dad would take “time out” of his busy day to blister my butt.
Omg I always always listen to your videos but just now realized the autumn background, lovely
Story 6. Joe needs to take a chill pill.
Nah, Joe needs to spend a night or two in jail, with BUBBA!!! lol!
Autumn background looks cool. You can take all those leaves, put it in a pile and dive right in. 😂
Hey RW loving your stories and the background!
