Story 1: Over the past year or so when a local housing market went boom and many landlords sold off their properties, it got to the point where people were going up to houses they liked and tried making offers even if they were not on the market. Just like in this story, q random stranger could come up and try to buy your house out of the blue (though I haven't heard any stories as bad as this Karen). I can sympathize with families in dire straits, but I'm not about to put my family on the street for it. A home flipping company tried it with me and I was not nice with my reply and subsequent reviews of them online.
Story 2: I can understand not wanting kids, but the way the OP obsesses over the idea sounds like she needs help. Having that much disdain for kids (not only having them, but other peoples kids) can't be healthy.
Story 3: "Kept back the Mississippi with a mop." Now that's a line for the ages. Lol.

A Karen tried to steal my car because she said it was a state counsel vehicle but it can't because it was shipped from Germany and thank god my dad was with me when it all happened he actually got so fed up with her he got very scary and he sounded like a monster and scared her away.

First story: NTA. This actually goes into r/EntitledPeople because she has to be smoking some crazy fumes to demand to buy a house from others, especially after the first owners made improvements into it.

First story sounds like a case of "Sovereign Citizen" types. They can be dangerous, and my bet there will be an update
If that were me, the moment she ignored me telling her to leave, I would have shut the door in her face, locked it, and called the police and had them deal with her while ignoring her no matter how much she repeatedly rang the doorbell, and I would only have opened the door again once the police had arrived. And if she has been seen in the area several times since then, install security cameras ASAP. There's no telling what sort of crazy stunt she may try to pull to try and get what she wants. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she somehow got the idea into her head that she could just break into the house when the OP's family isn't home (this may even be why she's been spotted several times since then, she may be "staking out" the house to try and figure out the "routine" of OP's family to figure out when the house is most likely to be empty) and then change the locks and then the house will finally be "hers"....or worse, what if she decides to try and threaten OP or her family in an effort to scare them into selling the house?
Install security cameras and alert the police to what she's been doing ASAP. It could literally be the difference between OP & her family being safe, and one or more members of her family getting hurt (or worse!). The fact that the Karen has been seen in the neighborhood several times since that first encounter to me is a *MASSIVE* red flag that she is *not* going to go away and leave the OP alone unless she either gets what she wants or someone *forces* her to stay away (either via a restraining order, her getting arrested, etc.).
The fact that the Karen refused to leave after being told to do so by the property owner (the OP) *immediately* makes her guilty of trespassing (even the police have to leave your property if you tell them to do so unless they have a court-issued warrant), which would absolutely have been grounds to get her arrested just by itself. And she very likely could also be charged with harassment as well.
For me I would have asked the Karen for all the money in the world and see her reaction, because if you want something like my house from me it's either that or nothing and there's no way they would be able to do that; not to mention make everyone in the world poor just to buy a house when any other place would do just fine
I completely empathize with that last story. I have BEEN THERE SO MANY TIMES. You're not a personal therapist. You're role as a friend isn't to serve others and it took me ages to learn this. I now hang out with people older than me both at work, in my relationship and in my group of friends and everyone is responsible for themselves with support from others. It's lovely.
Story #3, I bet that someone in that hotel SLEPT throughout the entire situation.

“JANE! Don’t worry, I will find you the best lawyer.”

“I was protecting you. Jane is such a bad influence. She would make a terrible wife and mother. Who thought it would be a good idea to marry an arsonist and a package thief?”
“You did this? This is exactly like prom! I don’t want you around me anymore.”
“Where are you going? I think you owe me a proposal!”
“I’m going to clear Jane’s name. And we are going to move far away from you.”
“If you do that, I will just have to follow you, and tell the police what happened the night of Friday the seventh 3 years ago where you and your friends stolen a car from my father and crashed it. He is still upset and is still searching for the truth. I knew it all along. I just didn’t want to tell them on the condition that you would be my lover. However, since you love Jane so much, you can be in jail with her.”
“You knew about the car? It was a stupid dare that Joey made. What will happen if you tell?”
“Besides the jail time, you would have to spend the rest of your life paying back my father for the damages. And you won’t have enough money to marry Jane. You can avoid all of that if you forget about Jane and you marry me!”
(John sighs)
“Karen, will you marry me?”
“Ooh, I thought you never ask! Yes! I will marry you.”
John had spent the rest of his life being married to Karen because she blackmailed him. Karen had never forgotten the crime John did. However, John decided to come clean and confess his crimes and payed the damages for Karen’s dad’s car. Turns out, the guy turned out to be Karen’s stepdad and her father left her and her mom years ago. The stepdad gave John advice: get out of that marriage. Not only John divorced Karen, but proved that she committed arson and stolen packages and used Jane as a scapegoat. Karen was found guilty and was forced to move out of the neighborhood. Jane had gotten released and never forgotten John. Now John and Jane are happily married.
I like how this story ends, but I'm not sure whether to be happy for him or be pissed at him

Story 2: if you hate kids that much you should definitely NEVER have them. Children deserve to be loved and if your not willing to do that then the right choice is not to become a parent. All I can say is at least they are making the right decision and not having kids.

Story 1: This is a big reason why you should have security cameras.... you can almost expect that she'll be back, and probably to do something bad at very late hours or if you arent there.
Story 2: Cut off your mom completely. I get not wanting kids, i dont either, but the whole "needing a wealthier partner".... thats almost clear that the OPs mom just wants to ask/beg/demand money at some point.
Story 3: I'd send those people the bill for the insurance and the clean-up, along with a limetime ban. There's no way that was an accident. Also, good on the management for giving the OP a raise!
Story 4: Sometimes people and the world suck. Walter is a major jerk here, as are his group of friends. Haley isnt a jerk, she may have some issues, but at least OP tried to help.... all one can do really.

Also if you arent getting anything out of a relationship, why have it, if its affecting you negatively, why have it. I'm 20 and its been 3 years since I graduated high school and I don't really talk to anyone from High School except for one person. I learnt very quickly that the only people that I want as friends are the ones who I put effort into maintaining a relationship with and who also try to maintain that relationship. If someone isn't interested then I'm not going to bother anymore.
The worst part would be if the Karen self terminates on the property and haunts it.

3rd story, lucky them. I had the opposite experience where I felt I could more than handle the pressure, but the company felt the opposite no matter what I said (I was desperate for work), as they felt that they didn't promote me and it cost me the job. It was only a summer job (in Australia), but the work was great and the pay was good... I really wish they kept me on.
*Story 1:* It's insane how this spoilt karen is acting. I don't know why she refused to acccept *"we're not selling!"* without whining like a spoilt brat. Good for OP for refusing.

My feelings on story 1: Karens seriously need a permanent residency at the nearest psychiatric hospital, complete with a padded room and a straitjacket.

Story 2: Sure you don’t have to have kids, heck, I don’t even know if I even want them. But her hatred for kids is a bit over the top, she says nothing personal but hates their very existence? You don’t have to like kids but hating random kids, even your own cousins, is a bit mean…
Probably the mom’s fault, I’ve seen it happen a couple of times, but the more a parent or authority figure tries to push something onto their child, the more the child will push back, which leads to the parent doubling down, and the child doubling down right back,
I also sort of experienced that, i didn’t like the taste of tomatoes, but when family members found out, they doubled down on tomato based meals , that made me hate tomatoes even more, to the point that I would instinctively gag or feel like throwing up at the sight of them, as well as actually throwing up at the taste of them. I was tested to see if I was allergic, but i was not, and the effect is fully psychological.
I think the same thing happened here with OP and the topic of kids, so while it sucks, I don’t blame her.

@@22mrcajit’s definitely the moms fault, I’m in the situation exactly like this and I’ve been in this situation but with religion. The more you push and shove your ideals down someone’s throat, the more their gonna hate you and the thing getting pressured on them.

The last story. The OP isn't a jerk, people change over time and want different things in life so it normal to seek out new friends and pay less attention to your old friends. But in the case of the OP she should definitely let go of 2 of her 3 friends and give Annie a heads up why she should avoid them.

In regards to the hotel story: Here’s a big secret about being a nurse. Every emergency situation is a little different, you handle what you think is the most important thing that moment and when you’re done move on to the next. We are panicked and second guessing the whole time but it will be what it will be. Most crazy situation are handled the same way and you should always be concerned about the person that acts like they know it all. So don’t beat yourself up, in fact you should pat yourself on the back because you did that.

Interesting my dad was also a night audit at a hotel but worked full time almost every day and he also was at that hotel when someone flooded almost the entire second and first floors.
No way in the second story that same thing happened to our building. The fourth floor burst pipe in their washing machines and flooded the entire Thirdstory and we had to evacuate as well.😅
I think the second story the mother is somewhat in the right. I can see why she would want her to have kids since it's her only child and wants the family tree to keep going. But she tried to execute that in the completely wrong way

The last story: You are not the fuckface whisperer. You are under no obligation at all to intertwine your life with toxic people or to involve yourself in avoidable drama. Block them and go find peace and joy in your own life.
Story 2: Holy shit OP is toxic. She was once one of those slimy watermelons that came out of someone who luckily disagrees with her point of view on kids. "It's nothing personal" with that much vitriol, it is absolutely personal.

Ugh. I'm a person who absolutely minds my own business. However, I get extremely nasty whenever some idiot disturbs me in my home. I LOATH anyone who shows up at my home without invitation and disturbs me in my own home. (In my area, we get a lot of door to door people soliciting - do you want to change your power company, do you want to give to this charity, or just yesterday - TWICE by 2 different groups - do you know anyone who speaks Spanish on the street? They're young and angry, I remember at that age I would just close everyone out and keep to myself.
I could have sworn the only folks on the 3rd floor of a hotel were either the ones who worked there. Or were guests who had to have the special suites located there.
Since several of the hotels I've stayed at. The third floor is a key access floor only.

At different times in my life, I've appreciated things owned by other people. However, while I might have fleetingly envied what they had or even wished I had the same stuff, I never felt that I was entitled to summarily appropriate their possessions.

Got a letter demanding that we sell our mom's house to her, because she prayed on it and Jesus said she would have it. Wrote her back, told her Jesus would have to tell ME about it. Told her we had prayed too, and said if she wanted to pay our asking price, she could buy it. Never heard from her again. House went for over price.

It is common for people to ask about buying homes. Relators do it all the time. Although they usually just send a letter, they will sometimes knock on the door. I have been approached five times this year, by letter, and a few times by phone. However, no is no, and they usually just go away.
I don't know if this is normal were I live, but we were asked WHILE we were moving out. XD

She doesn‘t. Sure, her words aren‘t nice but if this is how she feels about kids, thats it. I also hate childrens. I mean i don‘t think they are slimey 😂 but i also really don‘t understand how people can dicide to have kids. I mean there is absolutly nothing positive about it (my opinion)

For the first story I usually handle it this way I say no thank you and just shut the door. I don't even give them a chance to respond I'm done. There is no point in arguing or haggling.

Had a similar issue with one family member who kept insisting I get married to a woman despite the fact that I am gay. My relative thought I was going through a phase and thought I would grow out of it. I came out as gay when I was 16 and I am now 31. I am still a proud gay man with a boyfriend and for my entitled relative I have gone no contact with her. I refused to talk to her when she tried to forcefully tried to shove the Tanakh and torah scriptures down my throat.
For the second story that description about kids is detailed man just say you hate them damn😭🙏
