I wonder how quick you can change from religion to culture, it seems powerful in that aspect.
Probably still quick, but it's likely better to decide on one at the beginning of the game
The meaty part of a culture victory is still great people, so you'll be at a severe disadvantage if you only start building Theater Squares later on. That said, in single player you should probably manage. The game is rather sandbox-y, even at the higher levels if you manage to survive until at least Renaissance Era.

I always enjoyed playing as Ethiopia in previous Civs. Nice to see them back.
Every civilization in the games is so cool but after watching this I really wanna visit Ethiopia. This is like a tourist commercial for the country! And I love such a recent character from Africa, when as a whole the continent tends to draw from ancient civilizations.
I wish there was an option to permanently remain in a specific time period in the game as an option.
Sometimes it feels like the time periods go by too fast and by that time most units from previous eras are useless.

Now we just need the Italians.
Battle of Adwa scenario
I just looked at Menelik II historic photos and it’s seems Civ developers didn’t do him good justice in his depiction. He looks sinister in the game. He was a real bad ass. You can read Ethiopia’s history in general. It’s crazy how over many centuries they weren’t conquered by Muslims surrounding them.
The great nation off Australia can easily turn this high ground needing civ into dust
you’re just jealous he’s has a better hat than yours
They don't show when Rockhewn Churches become available but it is within either the ancient or classical era.
And with the faith from ressources ability you can probably reliably get the Earth Goddess pantheon which will be improved by the churches as they provide appeal, so early +8 faith tiles are probably easily doable.
The insane faith economy that they can produce is beyond anything current civs can dream of, Ethiopia will probably produce enough faith that you can build Grandmaster's Chapel and you will never have to build another unit in a domination game.
Definitely looking forward to trying them out! I love a Culture/Faith Defensive game! Crank up the hostility, and bring it on!
