      Ok all jokes aside i think in a game where the map is continents it would be extremely usefull to controll the sea. You can cut off enemy trade routes and there are for sure a few coastal cities that are easy pickings for your boats. I dont think its worth in a map with pangea but i think its underated

    • @elegantbiscuit2771
      @elegantbiscuit2771 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@valeriofabrizi3497 Agreed. Venetian Arsenal is an amazing wonder on any map that isn't just one large land mass which tbh, I personally find a bit boring because there isnt much variety in the military aspect of the game outside of marching an army through. No crossing oceans or finding a balance between army and navy, and crossing an ocean is a lot faster than marching across land so the game feels like it moves faster. Even on a continents map, its great for establishing a beachhead and running up and down the coast capturing cities. But on small continents, fractal, archipelago, any other map with a decent amount of water, its a requirement.
      What I do is rush the venetian arsenal so I can be sure I can build it, then spend all my focus building up all the infrastructure and improvements across my entire empire so that it is ready for war once I unlock battleships. Then I just start printing battleship and destroyer armadas and run around the map capturing cities, until I unlock bombers and tanks to that I can take inland cities with ease.

    Rule of thumb: every single time you are trying a niche game, if you leave the AI on Random it will always magically roll your hard counter. I literally have to blacklist hard counters if I want to try any niche play.

    instead of pingala in beginning, you could send 2 envoy-governor to Geneva. +15% science in all cities and extra favors to sell. + early levy for discovering stuff
    However you'll need pingala later anyway for great people.

    That thing with the spies leaving cities has been happening to me too! I guess when you're allied to other civs you can't do ANY spy operation in their cities, and in non-allies I've seen my spies just return home randomly.

    For loyalty, there are 2 numbers, current loyalty which ranges from 0% - 100% which can't be a negative number and loyalty per turn. To flip a city it has to have a current loyalty of 0% after the loyalty per turn is added to it. This means the only way to flip a city is to get the loyalty per turn to be

    The second "R" is pronounced in Chartres, so it's more like SHAR-truh (the first "R" is barely pronounced but it influences the "A" quite a bit).
