But he doesn’t get the instant feedback of his followers to pump him up on broadcast media. And here is the crux. This isn’t about free expression, this is about Trump and his followers reinforcing each other, mutually supporting what is worst in all of them. The link is broken, Trump can no longer experience the online adulation of his fanatics, nor do they get their Trump fix. This was never about expression, it was about a feedback loop.
I dunno, but maybe he really will fade away without Twitter. Maybe portions of his base will wake up or otherwise find their way out of the fog of their delusions. I wouldn’t count on it, but who knows?

Thanks to Trump, I found out that America's law is so laughably toothless to hold any rich powerful white person accountable. It's like a joke. For all Trump has done, there are still very little chance for him to end up in jail given that no US president before him has ever ended up in jail. By contrast, in South Korea it's considered a miracle if a former president doesn't end up in prison.

Even if no more violence happens, there's no way that this is a peaceful transition of power, because violence has already happened. That ship has sailed and we missed it.
It's also not seamless, because a seamless transition would have started 2 months ago to ensure Biden's team is fully informed and prepared when taking office.
Trump has still not conceded. He has not admitted Biden won. He hasn’t said that the election was fair. He refuses to say he lost. That’s a problem.

While I’m surprised she couldn’t get more, I’m thankful for the symbolism of the 10 votes to impeach from Republicans in the house, spearheaded by Liz Cheney, who’s state of Wyoming voted for trump 70-30% over Biden. THAT is patriotism, country above both party and political career. As a liberal, Liz Cheney is not my favorite human on the planet, and yeah we disagree on a lot. But she has earned my respect by continuously standing up to and criticizing trump, and by voting to impeach.
Trump has ruined the GOP brand. She cannot save it. But she is on the right side of history.

You make a good point about him fanning the flames for 4 years. I was thinking that it was a moot point to bar him from running then when he will be too old to do it anyway, but you're right he'd go around threatening to run if he could and this gives him one less weapon in his arsenal of gaslighting.
