I think our higher rents might mean it's a little bit our problem too.

Yet that is precisely what the United States was founded on. People turning a blind eye and benefiting from a core group of supremacists. "It was a government thing I had no control over." Those same people point at the Germans who let the Nazis take control and say why didn't they stop it? "Those other guys didn't get caught" is a legit defense until legislation makes it otherwise. Singling out Trump is as dangerous as letting him go free. After all, he said in his debate with Hilary, "If you don't like it, change the code." At least he admits he benefits from a corrupt system.

Both go to a lender and gives them an estimate. It is a subjective number because nobody knows the future of how something will see. The lenders do their own research and then they come together and discuss what is acceptable. The properties all around Trump's property reflects Trump's numbers, not the court. Tge court's number was ridiculous because they did not know what they were doing and wanted to get Trump, a political move. If Trump is guilty, every property own could be. Stewart is a hypocrite because he made a profit in the same way.BTW You have to value a property when you sell it, smh

In New York, tax rates are applied to the estimated value of a property, with the penthouse judged to be worth $1.882 million. Stewart did not do anything legally wrong. He simply sold his property for more money than what the city valued it at. Trump on the other hand lied about the size of his property stating for tax purposes his property was only 10,000 square feet, but when he borrowed money from the bank he said it was 40,000 square feet.

Norwegian here. Today billions of us World citizens have been disgusted and disappointed (yet again) by the so-called law system of the US.
I happened to see a Canadian who expressed just that, if in slightly different words, but who started out saying that "it is probably none of my business".
That was the only detail in their comment that I disagreed with.
I tried to reply, but youtube did one of its customary "disappearing acts" with my comment.
    I'll try again here:
This *_IS_* our phøkking business, too.
And no one apart from willfully ignorant and/or just plain _vile_ trump-adorers will tell us otherwise.
Most US citizens have realized, by now, that what happens (or not) in their country, the most influential country in the world, creates repercussions all across our little planet.
If anything, the mega-MESS of a trump has achieved to highlight this fact as never before.
And they understand that trump, and preferably all of his co-conspirators & enablers, *_NEED_* to face & taste justice & accountability, and they *_NEED_* to be made an example of, before the eyes of the World.
Not only because this is what his most direct victims, the people of USA, so rightfully deserve.
Also because it will serve as a much needed reminder to corrupt law-despising wannabe dictator oriented individuals everywhere that they are *NOT* (or _should_ not be, at the very least) above the law *NOR* welcomed (by rational folks) as potential presidential candidates!!!
What there is of freedom and democracy everywhere is at risk here.
USA, in particular what there is of checks and balances, law and (so-called?!) justice, has the *_obligation,_* to trump's victims and to the entire World, to have justice deal *JUSTLY* with trump .

If the assessment is that much lower than the selling price, then this property is unjustly assessed. Because licensed, the assessor can be held accountable (to being within a certain percent). I know of assessors whose estimates were found to be too much lower than real value (in order to give the money-institute an unfair advantage) and they were set out of force, the licences revoked and the people were criminally processed (for defrauding).
