- Woodturning - In this video I combine five new hyper shifts from Designer Epoxy with some beautiful pencil line spalted maple to make unique bowl. As per normal all doesn't go to plan and this piece presents some challenges, thanks for watching and please share with you're friends.

I love this bowl Jim, I really like this shape, and the rainbow shine is amazing! That spalted maple was an excellent sponge for all the effects of the hypershift.

As this bowl spins on the turntable the hyper shift dances in and out of viewing. Absolutely amazing I’d like to see you do a piece with greens,blues, and purples hyper shift, kind of an outer space theme. I also love the shape of the rim of the bowl.

I love the shape of the bowl, most especially the band at the top but also the wood! It is a beautiful piece for sure. I love how the spalted Maple looks. I don't love the color of all the hypershifts mixed together but that's only a personal preference. I've never cared much for gold-ish type colors. It is still super awesome and beautiful! I'm excited to see how you use designer epoxy next week!

I LOVE the hypershifts! Designer Epoxy makes beautiful pigments, but I like that you went with your gut and changed the tone to more of a gold rather than a muted brownish/bronze. That wood is beautiful, the spalted maple pieces always turn out so interesting! Great job, Jim!

Well, not everything goes to plan, but man oh man is that beautiful. I love the profile on the bowl. I know it is bronze colored, the lights made it look kinda like antique brass. That's a lovely color also. I enjoyed looking at your new land. I will definitely be sharing this video.

I love how the different levels of resin penetration change the color of the wood. I love hypershift, but adding all the different ones makes the piece look overly busy, at least on my screen. I bet it looks much better in person. Thanks for sharing, as always!

Stunning! I think this is my fav piece. I think because the hyper shift is a color closer to a color you would find in nature. Almost like a moss. Love the top edge too! Staging the house will make a huge difference. I staged our house when we sold it and the realtor said she never had a house so beautifully staged and it made a huge difference in the photos. We had five offers! Good luck!

Sorry Jim that I’ve been away from your channel for a bit. I’m still getting caught up. But please know that you’re one of three channels I make it a habit to watch each week. Yours is the only wood turning channel on that list.
I enjoy your videos, as well as the calmness of your voice. I have a chronic illness and your low key explanations of what you’re doing is like very relaxing, I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this.
Then of course there’s the art you create, and yes it’s art. Don’t do the thing that we Canadians keep doing to ourselves. Don’t undersell yourself, you are an artist, and a damn good one at that. Make sure you take some time every so often to pat yourself on the back. We Canadians keep forgetting to do that to ourselves.
This week’s bowl is really good. That resin staining is off the charts. Add the Spalting, well that’s just about as good as it gets. I’d admit I was a bit doubtful about your colour choice in the beginning, but you pulled it off and it is the right colour. Guess that’s why they pay you the big bucks.
Have you thought about starting another channel for the build process of your new shop and/or new home. I’d bet you’d get a good number of subscribers for that channel too. Though I’m not sure you’d have the time, but still think it would be interesting.
Once again, thank you for your videos, and thank you for your service. Without others like yourself, who served in the Canadian armed services, we wouldn’t have the freedoms that we take for granted. Thank you.

Oh my, that's gorgeous. I think it shifts from gold to bronze, which I really like. That maple is awesome! Love the spots where the shifting color has penetrated out to the surface--one spot looks almost like two glittery gold eyes. Great work, love this one.
