    Nice video! I would have suggested to instead use solar fuse terminal instead, then you can step down the 35mm³ to 10mm² and add a 30A fuse all in one go, without any soldering!

    Great stuff. Pretty much a dream project I would like to do one day when I can buy an affordable battery upgrade for my car. 😉
    You mentioned sealing up holes with silicone. I would avoid that as I heard it creeps around and can cause contact problems.

    Lifepo4 is a so much nicer type of battery then Lipo. They don't care to be left on 100% of charge and you can use them from 0-100% all day long. And they wont run away thermaly and burn down your house like the Lipos do. I hope we get more EVs with Lifepo in Sweden. I will never have a Lipo car or big Lipo battery near my house.

    Great inspiration for an upcoming house. I do have one question : when it comes to final installation, is it an issue to have it vertically mounted? chemically wise I'm pretty sure not, but there could be other things (sensor in the bms, ...). Thanks!

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi that’s a really good question. I’m not really sure, but it might be harder to have an even temperature inside of the battery when standing them up.

  • @dammitdad
    @dammitdad 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Lithium polymer batteries are the ones that catch fire. Don't keep them in your house. You want lithium ion for that but rather install them in an outside thermal bunker with the ability to smother them from air. You can get blankets specially for this purpose.

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Pretty much exactly what I’m doing.
      I completely agree. But those lifepo4, especially the blade type cells in this battery are very safe.

    Thanks for a great video with clear instructions. I bought an Atto 3 which had a crash but the airbags didn't go off but the seatbelt emergency locking retractor did go off so i'm assuming a signal was sent to the battery it had a crash. If this is the case do you know if there is a fuse within the battery pack that will need replacing?

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you😃 sadly I can’t answer that for sure. All I know from the sonar car is that the airbags was intact. I did not know that BYD activated the belt tensioner without realising the airbag. Program A LILY go and connected to the battery and apply power, if the batteries IS okay you should clearly hear the contactors inside of the battery. But be very careful because then you will have high voltage out of the high voltage connector.

    Very informative! This is amazing. Question, Is there any way to output 2 phase or 3 phase from a tesla model 3 via the ptc heater wiring to give the ability of V2L? I opened the module and it looks like you can easily add more wiring to connect an inverter directly. I think you can even adapt the hvil to the inverter as well. Seems simple enough and looks like it should work plug-and-play style.

    Dala had relased a video about the recent reverse engineering of the id 3 battery as alternative to the nissan leaf he had used before.
    But I like this great idea to get an atto battery but I wonder where you get these batteries quite early after the car has been sold.
    I am on the verge of building another 2x 16 kWh LFP battery out of EV MB31 cells but of cause I would prefere such high voltage battery to replace also the old 4,6 kW inverters with 1 deye 3phase inverter.

    Are there any plans to use the water pipes in the battery for either heating or cooling? I saw you adding the electric heat pads so I guess not. Just thinking which way I'll do it as well.

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That was my plan from the beginning, but this is not made for water. This is directly heated and cooled with refrigerant. The channels are way too narrow to be used with water. I tried to blow air through it and it was really hard so water will be even harder.

    • @davidcassidy2944

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ yes definitely 😅 heating is no problem but cooling will be much harder if needed. In my location I only have to be concerned about the cold though.

    • @leexgx
      @leexgx หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally the load shouldn't be high enough to create heat, if your in a cold climate then heat pads might be needed (but I would have thought if the battery pack is on via cambus the bms should heat it self automatically if its too cold)

    When you park your battery in the garden, how you sustain enough warmness/heat in it to stay above charging low temperature?

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is already now placed on styrofoam and a floor heating system that holds a temperature between 10-15 degrees centigrade. Works amazingly well. So I plan to stick with that solution.
