Wow. The looks and smiles between Stephan and his wife were so intimate.
I envy Fiona.
I feel so much for all these folks. When she spoke about seeing things when they were apart and thinking, "Stephen would like this" it went straight to my heart. My partner died from a massive heart attack in 2000 and everyday I find myself thinking, "Chris would like this". We had 25 years together and it's been almost 24 since. Yet everyday I think of Chris.
They give you so much insight into these people's lives and their families in such a short time that you feel so much for all of them.
I totally envy their relationship.
@@eller3452 You really can't take that burden upon yourself. You have no idea how he would have even responded. Maybe he felt he loved her and was happy.
It is really hard to let go of those types of thoughts and feelings, but you should try to just treasure the times you did have together. It was his free will to go perhaps coupled with his spirit of adventure. You may well have done the right thing by letting him go, you loved him so much you did that for him.
I want a Stephan and Fiona relationship. Although Stephan is ill, he's the one comforting Fiona with his hand outreached to her face 😢 beautiful 🥰
There’s no reason you can’t get that darling
I noticed that too. They love each other so much.
The family living with sickle cell….😢. To lose a child and watch the other children suffer must be almost unbearable. Such a lovely family.
What a good line..."There's no reward for bravery". I could have used that line many times in my nursing career.
I did 😊 🤗 🌹
Hi Alan🌹🌹
How are you doing?
yep, should of had that epidural with my only full term pregnancy, by the time i had medicine for blood pressure and medicine to get contractions started again, it wasn't natural anyway, lol. Years later I saw an editorial in a women's magazine saying that using pain relief in labor is natural because we have medicines available that we would use for any other pain, it's natural as a human being to treat pain.
That is not true. Our rewards are seeing the positive outcome in each scenario we are involved in. Our reward are the lives saved, the smiles experienced, the positive change that was caused in them and in us, the knowing that we make a huge difference each and every day. We just need to open our eyes to these rewards, whether being in the medical field or in our daily living, in our lives and in the lives of strangers, family, and friends. Life is amazingly rewarding!!!
Being brave for ourselves or for someone is a reward in itself. Nurses, firemen, policemen, and soldiers are the bravest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing. They are my heroes and that is a reward.
@@tooshay4me You are so right. I believe that line was intended for the patient who was trying to brave out the pain w/o asking for analgesia. I've had several nursing roles, in post-op rehab, and as a Hospice nurse. Trying to educate patients (and/or their families) about the benefits of analgesia was a skill I learned very quickly, & usually with great success.
In a private hospital in South Africa (where Stephan is from), given his existing heart condition, they would have kept him in ICU after the angiogram for at least 3 days and this bleed would not have happened. He's lovely. I hope he's doing well.
N Z here .. I had that, but it was through my wrist. I had night in hospital and then was sent home.
The little boy is so articulate! And adorable ❤
It's amazing what intelligent parents and a half-decent school can accomplish.
He’s 9 and cute as heck I wonder how his sister is at 6. Seems a lovely family.
That little boy and his dad were absolutely precious.
The way stepan looks at his wife and the way she talks about him makes me cry. So beautiful.
That little boy is adorable.
The little boy with the sore wrist is very mature and clever... I thought I was listening to an adult speak lol
Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Ohio, USA, did a clinical trial for gene therapy. My friend who is 26 went through it 2 years ago and he's now negative for sickle cell. The FDA approved the gene therapy December 8, 2023.
I live just outside the Cleveland clinic main campus (like 15 miles east ) and I use the Cleveland clinic for all my drs . They are some of the best in the world !
WONDERFUL!!!
Yes but it's a clinical trial though, It could have a positive affect like your friend had or it could have a bad side affect. In the US the FDA has lighter requirements than MHRA/EMA people don't mind being used as guinea pigs in the US because they get paid extremely well to go through the trials and risking having bad side affects or even worse illnesses!!
It even says it online everyone - This is talking about FDA (the standards it upholds are notably less stringent than those mandated by the The European Medicines Agency (EMA).)
Besides that you are right that the Cleveland Clinic is world renowned and one of the best hospitals in the world, I see why many people would trust the Academic Clinic they call Cleveland Clinic!!!
@@SultanSully97 MHRA approved it November 16, 2023 and the EMA recommended conditional marketing authorisation on December 15, 2023.
That's such exciting news!!!! Thanks for sharing this!!
What a beautiful love between Fiona and Stefan. Was so sad how she mentioned if something happened to him she can't live without him.
The kiddo with hunger makes the pain go up!!!
Stephan and Fiona are very brave. They both know that every day is a gift.
Gosh, the love between Fiona and Stephan is visceral in the way they look into each other's eyes ❤ Beautiful to see when two people who are just _meant_ to be together find one another ❤ All the best to both ❤
Sausage Rolls will definitely sort out most hunger related pains!
I wouldn't mind having sausage rolls myself except I would have to make them myself. The closest shop is 90 minutes away.
Bruh, why am I getting emotional seeing the love between Stefan and his wife. I had that once. 😓
What happened to her?
I pray Stephen can live a fulfilled life!
The love between Stephen and Fiona is absolutely beautiful. It's so sad that their time together on this earth will most likely be brief. There's no doubt that they will be together in the next life. ❤😢❤
Of course there's doubt. We have no way of knowing if there's an afterlife or not.
@@sarahsnowe I hope you're young and have a long life ahead. I'm dieing of kidney failure. I'm looking forward to the end, not because of feeling lousy, but because I'll get to see my Lord. Oh... Fiona & Stephen..... You melt my 68yo heart. I never found my true love, but am so joy-filled to see that you two did! ❤💋
The way Stephan looks at Fiona……❤❤
Hi Deb🌹🌹
How are you doing?
I have been where Stephen is, except I had a massive heart attack, at 49 years old. Now I can exercise everyday.
My greatgrandfather died in the fields of a massive heart attack, 49 years old. his family has a long and confirmed history of cardiovascular problems, and you can bet I got myself stress tested when I hit fifty. It looks good. Glad you´re well now and hope your life keeps looking bright!
@@raquellofstedt9713 ♥️
I noticed that Max used the sprained wrist when he jumped up on the gourney.... 😉
Saw that too! Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, but the flexibility when the doctor was checking indicated to me nothing was broken. :)
Sickle cell anemia has made great strides in the USA. Time to get on the phone. !!!!!!!!! I've heard of some miracles; seriously.
to stephan and his wife fiona, hope you're reading this, you two are wonderful couple!❤
They have the love that some of us only dream of ❤
So lovely to hear a South African accent on this series. So comfortable.
🙏To the mother with the children with sickle cell, my condolences..ohmygoodness, I know this is so hard on you and your husband both. I will always keep you all in my prayers, ALWAYS! ❤🙏
Stephen and Fiona seem to have the kind of love we all want but can never find.
Real life. Forget about H&M, K&W and C&C. These are the Elites. Our heroes. Love you guys and girls. You do a marvellous job. All of you.
“Are you on birth control?” “No I’m not sleeping with anyone.” *pregnant with 6th child* 🤦🏽♀️

How do they afford all those kids and she looked surprised Insane
@@stephanieparido3790the 3 older ones are all adults now. So 3 isn't that bad to afford at a time.
Fernanda reminds me of how i found out when i was pregnant with my eldest son... I had an upset stomach and irregular periods... and found out that I was pregnant
But the possibility of it being ectopic is devastating
An ectopic pregnancy is awfully painful.. made me pass out.
Portuguese woman with twins is such a sweetheart but she was hoping this man going to marry her you never know.
The man is a USELESS waste of skin IMO does NOTHING a father would do 😑
Stephan and Fiona are relationship goals. ❤
English people are just so kind and beautifully proper how they converse with each other. They so care about each other. It's beautiful ❤️❤️ I need to come to England and visit.
In the US the young man Stefan would be evaluated & placed on the Transplant List. He would not be going out for the Iron Man contest!!!
Nor necessarily. I'm in US and a dear friend has an internal defibrillator for this condition. He's never been told anything about transplant. He's monitored, on medication, and doing well. His mom passed from it though when 6 months pregnant, so im not saying they're taking it lightly, just that every case is different and medical advancements have truly improved quality of life. Same with left heart hypoplastic syndrome. Only two hospitals even offer transplant in US. All others do only three reconstructive surgeries.
Good morning from the Gulf Coast Mississippi!!!
I read the title of this as "pregnancy compilations" and I was so confused by the guy in the thumbnail. It was only me being able to read tho!
Give the sweet, smart boy a sausage roll! What a sweetie!!!
Hi Cathy🌹🌹
How are you doing?
Prayers for Emmanuel and his family. All their children have had it. Then they lost a daughter….so sad. But they seem like a wonderful family ❤❤❤
My heart went out to Emanuelle's mom. SC is a devastating disease and she's already lost a daughter, God Speed to the whole family.
Sorry for the lose of your lovely daughter
Love the pace and accent on patients
Eddie Redmayne played the part of Stephan beautifully
Yes! Agree! Both are SO VERY handsome! May we all have a wonderful 'Eddie' or Stephan in our lives🏵
They kept my uncle in the hospital (here in the states, in NYC) for 2 days after his angiogram. I'm surprised they sent Stephan home so fast given his co-morbidities.
On an unrelated note: knowing you can HEAR or FEEL the pop of a blood clot absolute terrifies me.
I feel so bad for this pregnant Mom, she is putting all her eggs in a basket with George and I’m worried it’s the wrong basket for her.
Kinda late to rethink it
Let's hope not.
Agree! George is a useless man-baby!
Hospital emergency room videos are my favorite to watch. I love to see how well they are taken care of.In case I ever need to go to one.
Stephan & Fiona: BEAUTIFUL COUPLE!!!
❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤
I got on a skateboard and I ended up breaking my arm in two spots. I didn’t skateboard for a long time then I tried it again and tore the MCL IN MY KEFT LEG. I’ll never skateboard again. I got the message.
Sorry, about that. Would be, me too, if I ever tried it.
Congratulations on that baby. It’s so adorable.
Sickle cell is a terrible disease, lost a close friend to it...he struggled his whole life.
My husband passed in oct. from heart failure he never let it stop him, day's before he was cutting wood.
My condolences ,dear.
it gives inspiration to others like me, and how they prepare video was incredible
Steffan is such a romantic and his wife is so loving ❤ I hope and prey for them both to have a long and happy life together
Very sad stories. I hope they all get well.
this was an intense episode for sure. The sickle cell momma, she is strong°°
That kid Max has a more advanced vocabulary then most Americans
That bar is so low a mouse couldn't squeeze under it.
That is just one (1) child. All the trash talk about America 🇺🇸. If you live in America and don’t like it, MOVE.
So . . . like, you know? like, that's like, just we, you know, talk?
🤮
As an American, I agree

The only hopes for Emmanuel is he can live a long life with sickle cell but it’s a life filled with horrific pain.
I am a regular flier to A&E.
I have really bad blood vessels. It's kinda funny when nurses see me and get this short flash of annoyance on their face, because they have to draw blood on me now 😂
"Remember meee?!"
Sophie is a real sweetheart.
Max is 9 going on 20
Love the first couple.
I love how she said she looks like a turtle. It was really kind of cute.❤
I was just reading how doctors cured a sickle cell patient by using CRISPR, some kind of new gene treatment. However, the treatment is very expensive. The once sickle cell patient's life has completely changed though. I wish the same for other patients.
Probably in combination with a sausage roll
I’ve had 2 angiograms. Horrible. The needle going into the artery in your groin is so painful. Then having someone hold pressure there after is agony. Not at all fun. That grimace is real. Not to mention the reason for it in the first place.
the kid is so funny, hunger related
How old is Max again??!
Perhaps this young man reads books rather than walking around glued to a device or hours 'gaming'
Good for you dad👍👏
"Maybe one day we'll be married!" Lady, news flash: if he were going to marry you, he'd have done it already. The fact he let your child crawl all over you while you're in severe pain tells me what kind of father he is. You can do better, love. Move on & grow past him, because he's obviously not interested in making a successful life or future with you, honey.
Right? He just sits there like a lump and lets her deal with the kids while she's sick. Why are they even there- let me guess he didn't want to be at home with the kids. Yeah doesn't seem like such a great guy.
Yes! Ditch that loser, he can pay child support and Fernanda will be MUCH better off that waiting around for George to grow up and grow a pair!
A&E is no place for kiddies if they aren't the patient. The father should have taken them home, as poor mum was feeling so unwell and still trying to cope with them.
Yes Fernanda, 6 is more than enough children, close the factory already, you are not even in love with the father of the last 3!!! On the other hand, it was so moving to see the love and interaction shown by Stefan and his wife, that couple is an example of love and commitment, really beautiful.
I think she enjoys sex and having children. How can she afford all the babies with no marriage...no man. She even admitted it was friendship not a relationship?
Who are you to tell a woman she should close her factory. Not your decision to make. Thats rude.
@@crohniequeenab Common sense tells you, but obviously children factories like you couldn't understand that. What is more than rude is not even being able to feed all those many children, use the pill or a damn condom, the world already has more people than it can sustain, so yes, CLOSE THE DAMN FACTORY!
She should at least use protection!!!
@@crohniequeenab Is it rude to believe in responsible parenthood to you? What is rude is to condemn children to a life of poverty simply by you not using protection or birth control, that is rude!
So many kids frenada!
My friend had one those machines hooked to her heart. She had to go two hours away because our hospital had no clue how to help her. She died last summer.
I grew up in a hospital in USA. My mother was a nurse. I can see that health care in UK is way better than in USA.
28:08 - It's (often) all about choices. Sometimes you need to think differently.
The pressure on the femoral artery is so painful after and angiogram. I woke up from having my screaming in pain and they had to sedate me, because I was trying to get off get bed. They were saying, “Be still! Be still! Give her another 25 of…”
Went back the next day after mine & no one told me not to sit a long time & I ended up w/a softball size hematoma in my groin. Had to lay flat a few days!
When they do an Angio through the wrist, was much more painful (for me) than a femoral artery was. Swelling was worse, too. I had to stay longer and really struggled to hold my dominant hand/arm Very still to allow swelling to go down.
I had mine through the wrist, no problem at all, and I don't remember any pain .I was out of hospital the next day.
Hmm, no one seems to be acting very quickly for this man!!
Stephan is absolutely gorgeous.Ive never said something like that before. Oops!!!!!!! But true none the less.
With that title I thought it was all about babies
Hi Deborah🌹🌹
How are you doing?
Sausage rolls solve everything!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜
They did an angiogram and SENT HIM HOME ??? When I had one done I had to lay on my back and not move for a good long while.....
I guess that's why your specialist did that; wonder why this one didn't consider that. Perhaps overbooked.
I had one. I had to stay flat on my back for about 4 hrs in hospital, but I still went home. Angiograms are outpatient procedures these days. (at least in the US.)
Agree, I’m a nurse and most angiograms (as long as they’re uncomplicated) will leave the same day
I've had 3 angiography, send home later the same day.
Lay for 4 hours with sand bag weights over incision sight is standard in Canada. Same day procedure.
If only we had this in South Africa. I'm too afraid to go to our public hospital's. Saying goes, you go in , you don't come out again.
All the best for the new year god bless all
All the best to you as well in the New Year. 🙂⚘️.
Thanks for the upload ❤❤❤
Stop at 29.00:
It could possibly be an ectopic pregnancy, so why wasn't she sent for an ultraschall?
Keep on watching, then comment.
She got admitted and they did scans (aka Ultraschall/ultrasound).
14:33 he is a clever boy 😊
That kid, "baring in mind" what a kid, the intervals might be related to being hungry. 🤣😂🤣😂
I had to get tested for the sickle cell anemia and it happens to al people including the unquote white people and Hispanic Latinos and Asians. And Elijah McCain mother in 2022 told my doctor to test me for it also. Proud to saying that I don't have it at all. I due have iron anemia.
God, it's so awful to see people cry because of a pregnancy. For a time that should be full of joy, sometimes it's just not the right time or the health of baby and/or mom are in question, and it turns into an emergent situation. No matter what, it's very hard on the mother and the dad. God bless women everywhere
What is the 'Ticket" machine for that they show @ 29:48
Just wondering how many women in the US had or have that condition and can't get an abortion? Scary to think of, thank God I am not child baring age right now. But I have daughters and a Granddaughter that are, so praying nothing like that happens to them.
If a woman does have an ectopic pregnancy she will have surgery to remove it in the US as it can cause death if not taken care of.
Waoo❤❤❤❤
❤
Why does Stephan remind me of the teacher from the first Pretty little liars season 1
Hunger related arm pains 😂
Why is there no urgency in these emergency. This man has a serious internal bleeding and they are just la-di-da-de-dum. They don't even have blood going in yet when you KNOW he's losing it inside. "Ya, I'm just a bit light headed, oh what's that I'm five pints lo?" "Well let me call down and get permission to call the blood bank then I'll call the blood bank and get them going, we may have to go out and recruit your kind of blood, but we should have you out of here, one way or another by teatime, eh mate?"
I mean, I wouldn’t even mind really looking like a turtle. They are pretty cute. 😂
Ahh yes, at least one sausage roll ... sounds like a plan! lol
I would like a sausage roll please
The chairs in the waiting area look like torture devices.
Unprotected sex equals babies sometimes...
I felt bad that she didn’t seem to know this despite having several babies. 🤦🏻♀️
After having that many children she didn’t know she was pregnant! She had her baby 4 1/2 months later. She was ignoring the fact she was pregnant maybe because she was hoping he would finally marry her. I’m tired of the “I didn’t know I was pregnant”. After having 3 I can never believe that.
The world is already grossly overpopulated. We can't afford this kind of ignorance and irresponsibility.
@@sarahsnowe Agreed
Sometimes you get pregnant even using birth control. I did. But, she said she wasn't using anything, so I don't think it was quite the surprise she said it was.
Poor baby. Sickle cell is no joke.
Poor Stefan handsome men. Life makes no sense.
I don't know how Fernanda didn't suspect pregnancy. That was my first assumption when I heard the symptoms.
