Just a quick correction. Tissot visodate is 40 mm. Bad on me for trying to remember all the specs from the memory of owning one and not double checking. Thanks for watching guys!

@@syndicatedsatellite7288 less than one thousand dollars please. Even less than 400 hundreds. That would be affordable not a watch of 5000. The hell in my country they cost more than that.
@@BadassBobY i mean that there will always some cheaper watches out there but he tried his best to find affordable versions. It's funny because in his 100-200 USD watches videos there are people saying they are wearing 35-50 USD watches. Now he done the 35-50 range and there are people with 4 USD watch :P Its just my silly observation and atrociously bad with words combine to form this comment lol
Have the Bulova Moon Watch on my wrist now, can confirm, looks more expensive than it's price. I actually almost got the Tissot Visodate instead of the Bulova (totally different watches, but both have been on my radar for awhile and I had the money for one or the other). I also found an Orient Polaris GMT that I grabbed on eBay, similar to the Orient Star you listed, but with a GMT function, and to me it looks way more expensive than the current going price of around $400 new.
The Dan Henry 1939 chronograph looks a lot nicer than it should for $220. My son liked it so much I got one for him for Christmas. Although neither one of us are using the dress strap it came with. He's using the extra Zulu strap and I bought a black Laco aviator strap for mine. I get a ton of compliments on that watch whenever I wear it.
I have been doing a lot of research of what my first watch to purchase and after watching this video I got the seiko presage. Such an elegant and classy timepiece!
Steve Kelly I’ve got one too, but with the Seiko NH36 movement. I’ve shown friends and family and all thought it looked way more expensive than it was. I’m going to upgrade the strap too, probably to the B&R bands cognac classic vintage band that I’m pretty sure was the one on Teddy’s Guanquin. I think Teddy’s moved his watch on now though. I’ll be keeping mine for sure.
I’ve been keeping up from the start of this channel. Really great that you keep the momentum of channels coming along! Definitely do not regret subscribing at all. You absolutely deserve many more subscribers!
Teddy, forgot to say thanks for this vid. Got some Xmas cash and gonna buy my first mechanical watch soon. This gives me more great ideas. Your channel is honestly one of the best out there. You’re a watch lover, yet not a watch snob, and that’s an important distinction!
This is specifically what I’m looking for: affordable watches that look nice and/or more expensive than they are... but are still nice watches (there’s a big difference between the words “inexpensive” and “cheap”). Looking forward to part 2!
Great video, my suggestion for part 2 is the Frederique Constant Classic line, they look like Patek Philippe Calatrava watches at a fraction of the cost!
More than once, my blue face Invicta Pro Diver Quartz got the attention of "watch people" from a distance. Great conversation starter, plus it's been running strong for a couple years!
Yes it's a good watch. I just recently purchased the Invicta 8927OB which is an automatic with a hackable and hand winding Seiko movement and it's a really good watch for the price, I really like it.
Excellent video Teddy! I have three watches from the makers you mentioned, Timex, Orient, Tissot. I have also owned a Dan Henry. I think this is a particularly good video for newbies!😀
I've always appreciated watches but I really started getting into them when I found your channel. I'm learning everything that I know from you. I recently watched another TH-cam's watch video and they mentioned that Dan Henry and I wanted to reach out to you regarding your thoughts on them so I am really happy that you are covering this watch in this video. Keep up the great work!
Hands down the Bulova 98A185.. it’s the curve edition. If you haven’t held one and tried one on your wrist, your really missing something. Moreover, it looks hublot’ish but better at under $500 on Amazon.
Thank you Teddy!!!! been watchig all of your videos for 2 months, and so glad you have been here to hold my hand of how and why watches are just SO COOOOL!!!
so glad you did include Orient Star Classic, I really assumed you have forgotten all about this watch ! my favourite dress watch after i sold my Omega constellation of 50s era with bumper automatic movement
Really good choices. I wish the Tissot Visiodate had the day/date wheel in the same colour as the dial (excluding white). It would make the dial look more symmetrical and a killer dress watch. I have to wear black tie a handful of times a year. I think the Visiodate would be a great option.
Hey Brother Teddy, good job as usual...I don’t have any suggestions for part 2 but I agree with another viewer regarding seeing some love for the Citizen eco-drive watches. The cost to value ratio (IMHO) is superb. Happy New Year to you and Ms. Courtney. P.s., watching you and your channel grow is inspiring...remain focused on your goals and relentless in your pursuit. Be well.
I'm so glad you put the Orient Star Classic on here. You can easily get this watch for less than $250. It is a steal at that price. I had the silver dial with silver hands but sold it, however, i recently re-purchased another one - silver case with gold hands - for less than $210. You have own one in person to see just how impressive it is. The finishing and details on this watch are so much better than the Seiko Sarb lines. Another watch I would recommend is its sibling, the Orient Star Elegant.
The Vostok is a reissue of the "Mir", later branded as Vostok powered by their 2209 movement. Soviet brands at the time usually refer to the movements, it was much later on that each manufacturer standardized on having a single brand, such as Chistopol adopted Vostok, Petrodvorets adopted Raketa, First Moscow adopted Poljot, etc. But among enthusiasts we still refer to the movements by their original brand names very frequently, such as Kirovskie for the 2408, Stolichnie for the 2409, etc, by First Moscow.
I would recommend you to review Citizen Pro-Master BN0 191-80L. It’s a great diver which looks quite expensive. Moreover not a lot of youtubers have reviewed the watch. Thanks for the videos, they are lot of fun.
hey man, just wanted to say, for anybody out there looking for a nice classy watch. I saw this video and bought an Orient Bambino 2nd Gen and it absolutely does not disappoint. It keeps time really well and it is just a great quality watch for an amazing price. thanks for the vid man, you helped me out a lot!
Look at the Timex Harborside 42mm, Timex Southview Multifunction (looks loosely like something IWC would make) and the Timex Metal Feild!!!!!!!!!! I own all and I know you would like them!
Just look at the Seiko 5 line. There are dozens of options on Amazon so i'm sure you could find something you like for under 100 dollars. I would just suggest swapping it to another strap or bracelet the ones the Seiko 5 line come on are not very good, but you cannot expect everything for 100 dollars or less.
Go for a seiko 5.., I have one with a dark blue dial.. Would look even more luxurious if I can have it on a high quality dark brown or even an oxblood leather strap.
Seiko, Orient and Citizen. Either casual, dressier or sportier look and handling, these brands will have quite a few models to choose. Specifically the Seiko 5, Orient Bambino and Mako , and Citizen CTO, Axiom lines come to mind.
Seiko 5, Orient Tri-star, Invicta, even Chinese 'brands' like Guanqin, Starking, Tevise will serve you well. The Tevise Submariner is pretty amazing for $26.
She was dating him thinking his watch collection was worth like 200 grand. Now she knows it isn't..... she's probably reassessing things. #golddiggergoals
I hope you consider looking at the Phoibos Eagle Ray. I just got one and I love it. A lot of great specs and value for the price. Thanks for another awesome video! ✌️
I think that the orient mako ii is a very good looking watch for the price. The only downside is that it does not have a sapphire crystal. Mine just got a huge scratch.
Cadisen C1032 in silver or black dial. Costs around $53 and has a Seiko 4R36 movement and sapphire crystal. I’m wearing it more than my Orient Star Classic. It’s certainly one of the best bang-for- the -buck automatics out there and looks way more expensive than it’s price.
I just got myself the evil panda and can't wait to receive it ! I just really want to put it on a vintage racing strap (can't decide between black or cognac...). But I only find them in 20mm width, can you tell me if there is a chance it fits ? Thanks in advance, and keep up the excellent work !
@ 8:12 The Bulova quartz movement with 262hz frequency(that might not be worded right) is EXTREAMLY accurate. I have one and I would say that it gained 5 or 8 seconds in the span of a year. 1 full year it went and i only reset the time on daylight savings and such. The seconds hand has an incredible sweep to it, it doesnt even seem like its ticking, it is trully sweeping around the dail. Just dont buy one at Macy's. Go online and you can find one for 1/3 of the MSRP.
Nice to see a different Vostok for a change. My suggestion for part 2 would be the Chinese Starking AM0184 because in addition to the spec which is getting on for ridiculous at the price, it actually looks the part in real life. Don't like the silly little date window and wish they hadn't bothered, but otherwise expectations well and truly exceeded.
You saved my visidate for last. I have a cream coloured version. With French/English choice of day names. It’s had its share of compliments on my wrist.
Howdy Teddy, my 17 year old son has the Tissot Visodate and I must say it is much, much, more beautiful in person as most things are, great review and your choices are spot on! Cheers.
You should take a look at the Cadisen C1032. You can find it on gearbest or aliexpress for around $60. It has a Seiko NH36 Movement, hacks, hand winds, has a sapphire crystal and display case back and a 50M water resistance. Swap the original strap out for a leather one and it becomes quite a nice dress and travel watch.
Timex makes GREAT watches that are very affordable and look classy and luxurious. The weekender is a good first watch, but my favorite is the Waterbury Classic Chronograph 40mm. Amazing watch for only $140 or so. The Fairfield is another great Timex line with Bauhaus design (my FAVORITE).
I have the Timex Weekender on the far left at 0:30 (the bronze finish) and wore it today. My girlfriend gave it to me as a dating anniversary gift and I love it so far. Also have the black ion Seiko Samurai but I'd love the STO version that you got. Cheers!
Excellent video, as always, Teddy! Is the gorgeous strap on the weekend at 0:44 from you line or did you get it elsewhere? I need one like it for myself! 😂
For the 2nd part you could take a look at the certina ds podium, citizen nighthawk, timex waterbury, stowa marine classic(the manual wind one), edox hydroconquest quartz, oris big date, and the list goes on and on...
Very nice video, i like how your video ideas are more relatable, yet entertaining. Totally agree on Citizen and Hamilton watches for the next one. I would also like a video about squared or rectangled watches. Thanks
Junghans Form C Chrono quartz at $495. I know it's quartz but the design is an excellent Bauhaus piece, and the dial is slightly concave. Watch strap is very supple and I loved it when I first put it on. This series gets often overlooked for the Max Bill lineup.
Great video Teddy your content is really good and its very helpful for people looking to either make a great gift or make a purchase decision, keep the good work bro😀, greetings from El Salvador
Hey! This is my first time commenting, although I've been watching for quite a while. You might want to mention the Junkers Bauhaus 6050-2 in your next video, or its quartz version that goes for half the price. German made, ETA, with exceptional looks.
I have an Orient tank watch. 469 21 jewel movement( aka 40w46 ). Lots of good history about this movement it's an upgraded Seiko 7005 17 jewel movement. Also Kenith Cole in their hayday had a gorgeous 29 jeweled Ingersol 432 automatic movement watch the A126-12 kc-1899 New York edition watch ( Chronograph)Day/Date/month and a carousel Geneve wheel behind the balance bridge. Just shy of $600.
Very good choices, I have a Padi Samurai SRPB99 and while I like it, I have to say on closer inspection it doesn’t look very high quality. It’s hard to pin point exactly why, but it kinda feels like what it is, a $400 diver. Compared for example to my SARY055 or Cocktail Blue Moon which feel much more expensive than what they cost.
Check your samurai's twelve o'clock alignment with bezel, and crown. Some samurai hour markers and crowns are a little misaligned. Also if it's a Pepsi samurai, blue and red color always look more casual than black white theme watches mentioned in this video.
Yi Ye it is a Pepsi Padi. Don’t get me wrong I like it a lot. You may be right about the colors, but could also be overall finishes, I’m not sure. My crown is perfectly aligned, but hands, chapter and bezel are just only very slightly off, and when I say slightly I really mean you have to stare a lot to notice, no sane person will so it doesn’t bother me
@@d3xmeister Agree about the Sary055. Sapphire glass, clean silvery dial etc. Punches way above its weight, especially if you put a nice leather (black or brown or even blue, doesn't matter) strap on it. Proper dress watch, difficult to compare it to the pepsi samurai (that I also own and love).
Johan De Bondt It looks like a Bell-Matic reissue 😀 I switch between a croc black leather strap (real croc not embossed) and a blue calf leather strap. It feels and looks so awesome. Not really liking it on bracelet, but I plan to get the SARY057 to wear on bracelet (not exclusively though)
Well I just snagged a Timex Intelligent Flyback Chronograph (From London) for $ 113 (Aussie) or $ 79 (US) which is a lot of watch for a small amount of money (Possibly a little cheaper on Amazon US,- but a lot of sellers on there won't ship Down Under) But it has the Timex quality and style and certainly attracts more that's it's fair share of comments. Glad you showed the Bambino Teddy, I thought they were way more expensive....might be the next on my "Hit" list!
I love my seiko “Cartier tank” watch. Got it for less than 100$ usd on jomashop and has gotten me so many compliments. Great shout out for good value dress watch
I own the Orient Star Classic and the Seiko SRPC93. I smiled when I saw them featured on this video, back to back. The person who wins your SRPC93 is going to have an AMAZING watch. I’m wearing mine as I type this 😃
Good concept 👍🏼 I was looking at and trying on some Hamilton Quartz watches the other day and thought hmm this a great way to add another great looking watch at a pretty good price ☺️
Thanks for nice video. I love my citizen bn051e ( not sure that's right)! It's the blue faced diver on the rubber strap. In real life it looks amazing and you have endless solar power.
Going back and looking at affordable watch recommendation vids...As my watch budget has changed dramatically! Thanks for the great video! $10,000 for the Bambino huh? You should have told her it was $11,000 and given her one… It would’ve been a good time until she figured it out!!!
The last watch(Tissot Visodate)...It’s my go-to dress watch. 60s styling with hints of art deco(50’s) Because of the case shape and Lugs. And it’s got an ETA movement! I’ve got a couple of much more expensive dress watches, But this one always returns to the wrist as one of my first choices!
You might want to consider doing a video strictly on micro brands that are affordable and look more expensive than they really are. As always GREAT job.
I might mention the Tissot Gentleman too. I've just ordered the silver dial quartz version, and looking forward to sitting it alongside my Oyster Perpetual to see the difference. It really looks like a clean, simple and elegant design.
Just a quick correction. Tissot visodate is 40 mm. Bad on me for trying to remember all the specs from the memory of owning one and not double checking. Thanks for watching guys!

Orient Maestro. Recently bought from you, Teddy! Awesome watch, awesome value.
Thanks for this video. The bambino and Tissot Visodate are particularly nice looking to me. Awaiting part Deux!
You saved my visidate for last. I have a cream coloured version. With French/English choice of day names. It’s had its share of compliments on my wrist.
The Bulova really is a gem.
I get sooo many compliments on it.
Threw on a brown distressed Dassari leather strap and it looks bomb.
Howdy Teddy, my 17 year old son has the Tissot Visodate and I must say it is much, much, more beautiful in person as most things are, great review and your choices are spot on! Cheers.
The Vostok Classic. Holy Crap, never knew about that one. Kudos Teddy!
Really enjoying your channel Teddy! Great work and keep it up!
Thanks
a little newer to the watch game, really enjoy watching you, informational, helpful and just some fun facts to find out. Love your channel man
Junghans Form C Chrono quartz at $495. I know it's quartz but the design is an excellent Bauhaus piece, and the dial is slightly concave. Watch strap is very supple and I loved it when I first put it on. This series gets often overlooked for the Max Bill lineup.
The Citizen Calendrier (blue dial) would be a good watch to feature for under $500 that looks expensive.
Great video! Ive been watching for a while now and your content is fantastic.
Teddy! I just picked up a Seagull 1963. Chinese manual wind automatic chronograph. Beautiful watch around 200 bucks
Hi, I need help, I am thinking to buy a HUGO BOSS watch is it worth it? Should I buy it? Is there any better alternative watch?
Thank you my friend!
I’m wearing mine as I type this 😃
great picks Teddy. i think you should check out some red star watches and wenger.
I own the DH 1964 and it doesn't wear like a 40mm. It wears true. Excellent piece.
Good concept 👍🏼 I was looking at and trying on some Hamilton Quartz watches the other day and thought hmm this a great way to add another great looking watch at a pretty good price ☺️
Excellent, as usual!
Should include a certina watch. I personally own one and use it everyday. Great swiss made watch for a great price!
Thanks for nice video. I love my citizen bn051e ( not sure that's right)! It's the blue faced diver on the rubber strap. In real life it looks amazing and you have endless solar power.
Thanks for showing these off
Going back and looking at affordable watch recommendation vids...As my watch budget has changed dramatically!
New video idea; reviewing some ALIEXPRESS watches like Pagani Design, Megir, Benyar, Tevise, Naviforce etc. This could be a series too.
fantastic..
You might want to consider doing a video strictly on micro brands that are affordable and look more expensive than they really are. As always GREAT job.
Good choice on the DH 1964. They are beautiful watches in every color.
I might mention the Tissot Gentleman too. I've just ordered the silver dial quartz version, and looking forward to sitting it alongside my Oyster Perpetual to see the difference. It really looks like a clean, simple and elegant design.
