Always informative while also putting a smile on my face. We appreciate you, Andrew!
Very much so. His writing of scripts for this channel and Watchfinder is original, clever and always amusing! Definitely the best on TH-cam by miles!
Thank you very much!
Wow, the writing for this video is top notch!! The sarcastic jokes along with great info were fantastic!!
Thank you!
Agreed. AMW () is a watch reviewer who could entertain an armless man.
What? They were sarcastic jokes? I took this guy seriously!! I mean, I ended up buying a 1p watch and gonna sell it for 11p to some unsuspecting fool. Anyone want to buy a watch?
“Like a Mustang leaving a car meet”
😂😂😂
Poetry…absolute poetry!
Ha ha, I cracked up on that comment as well!
Tell me you're from Europe without telling me you're from Europe 😆
Those Chinese Tourbillion watches are proof that the most of the Swiss are overpricing their watches way too much. Watching their rate of progress in a short period, one can only assume it's only a matter of time before the Chinese watches reach the same level of the Swiss while maintaining reasonable prices.
Definitely artificially overpriced just like luxury hand bags. If they were honest, the steel automatics would go for 300 to 400 dollars like the best Rolex clones do in China
As a Chinese I can confirm that those Chinese watches almost always come with many catches. But I can also confirm that they’ll slowly get better and better and establish a position in watchmaking alongside with the Swiss and the Japanese. Not yet though
Chinese products are often cheap because they copy existing products and don't have to do r&d. I doubt they will reach the 'same' level of quality of some of the best swiss watchmakers, as they are handmade and at that level, you're paying for craftsmanship, materials and pedigree as well.
I actually have quite a few Chinese watches, ranging from €50 to €4000 - and the thing is, as soon as the quality approaches that of Swiss products, the price also increases significantly. This is especially true for the extremely expensive complications, like minute repeaters and gyrotourbillons, which Sea-Gull indeed manufactures. For instance, the Sea-Gull 1963 is available for €150, but if you want it from the original Sea-Gull manufacturer with better craftsmanship, it costs between €300 and €500. If you're looking for truly high-quality Chinese watches, they are unfortunately not as affordable as one might hope. However, I must stress that there are many excellent Chinese quality watches - they just tend to be more expensive than you might initially think.
I can remember, being over 50, when Seiko watches were considered cheap knock-offs if Swiss watches. Now Seiko has watch collections that are priced way beyond I ever thought they would. Now Chinese watches are doing the same but better.
You’re the greatest watch writer of our time Steven. There’s no even close second.
Thank you Steven
I 24th that comment!
Loved the humor, with near spit takes when you mentioned "period-correct surgical-grade wood" and later, "This is the kind of watch you give to your enemy, not your friend, in the hope that strap comes with a helping of flesh-eating bacteria." Brilliant!
Thanks 😁
The Citizen is such a better deal than the MoonSwatch! I've never even thought of that before. Incredible!!! If I had to spend $300 on a watch, it's going to be the automatic in stainless steel.
An even cheaper Citizen I would suggest is the C7. It has a day and a date function and it's beautiful but you can get them for like £150
Yeah you can buy many speedmaster homages that have sapphire crystal, stainless steel construction, and a mechaquartz movement for less than half the price of a moonswatch. Why on earth would anyone buy that plastic garbage.
Exactly I bought the Citizen Tsuyosa last month and I'm happy about my purchase, Definitely a better rapport between the quality and the price than the moon's watch
@@robertposteschild2353 I have to confess that, largely on the testimony of Jody over at Just One More Watch, I shelled out the 80 clams to join Team Pagani. I'm honestly quite impressed with it, as is my coworker who compared it to the Omega Speedmaster on his wrist and said something along the lines of "You know, this ain't half bad!' I'll never have the disposable income for something in the Omega's price range (heck, only reason I have a Navi is I inherited it; most everything else in the drawer is either Timex or Casio 🙂 ) and as long as it's not an outright forgery I think I'm just fine with a 200m stainless mecha-quartz chrono with all the styling cues for under a hundred bucks.
I have a few Citizens watches and they are spectacular. One has been sat in my windowsill for two
Years and has only lost two seconds
Love your content. Informative, hilarious and witty. Greets from Switzerland
This is hands-down, the most entertaining watch video I've ever seen. Brilliant 👏🏽
WoW was that scurfa's description a thing of beauty! Chapeau!
Thoroughly enjoyed your video and the clever quips interspersed in there were a delight. My recommended cheap finds are,
1. Timex Marlin 34mm Hand wind (It's a good timepiece for anyone who loves vintage styles and a good budget dress watch)
2. Seiko 5 SNXS79J (That is just a Rolex on budget and it sure looks gorgeous under every lighting condition)
3. Casio G-Shock (Literally, any Casio G-Shock is a good beater watch for the money)
This could be one of the best TH-cam videos I have ever seen, as someone that just have discoverd watches this was a great video.
Scurfa as celebration of scurvy😂😂😂
Glad it wasn't just me that thought it!
"surgical grade wood" 😂😂😂
I thought it was a celebration of dandruff - as he hinted at with the reference to flaky skin 🤔
@@slyfondle1885 Limes as dandruff treatment?
The Squier Strat reference had me lol-ing :))))
First time viewer and hooked by the relatable humour! Just starting out watching TH-cam watch channels and your one of the few to get a subscribe- fantastically entertaining!
Lovely episode, mate. Topping! Keep them coming
Cheers 😀
Loved the video! Priceless content! brilliant language!
I am so glad these guys have really put alot of effort into watches designed for the more common folk and showcase them with such enthusiasm and aren’t about the snobbery!
Watching this was the most well spent time for me in a month ❤
I think the best "cheap" watch for the money is a Sea-Gull 1963, Manual wind chronograph with a 60 year old proven Venus design. Fantastically good looking. Beautiful to look at from either side!
Really enjoying the writing on your recent videos! Brilliant stuff 😂
Thank you 😊
Hin Andrew!
Great video as always!
Just one small detail, I think the Timex expedition is rated at 100m WR as shown on the dial, not 50m as mentioned...
Cheers!
Great Content in all seriousness !!
Bravo !!
This episode has some really good jokes in it, perfect for sunday morning! Thank you for cheering us up!
One of the best from you and TH-cam. The last sentence made me 😂
Great video, I recently bought the citizen tsuyosa, it's a good watch. Orient is also in my collection the defender 2.
Love your rationale on the last watch, you are the man
I purchased the Citizen a few months ago, and so far very impressed. Exceptional value for the money.
The Moonswatch?! Why not the Bulova Lunar Pilot? That notwithstanding, great video. I enjoy your sense of humour.
Those Bambinoes are amazingly value! That Pateke Phillipe lookalike! Wow! I actually like their versions that have the small sub seconds as well. And there is some decent decoration on that movement- not bad at all for that sort of coin!
Genuinely hilarious. Had me laughing at the end there "if you have the lowest amount of money before having literally no money" hahahaha
I know little about watches. I'm here for the snapper banter. SUBBED!
I, Steven, love this video. Thanks for including us Stevens in the video.
Excellent content as always, Andrew! I've watched you for quite awhile on Watchfinder but have just found your new channel and am loving the content. Thank you for the wonderful and informative videos you put out for us all, and the healthy dose of humour is always, always welcome.
Oh, and to remark on your statement of... "If I could have pizza every day, I would"... you're an adult man, Andrew, you can, in fact, have pizza every day if you please! I think I might tonight, might as well exercise that ability to have pizza whenever I would like...
I love them all. cheap and expensive! Every time you do a video my collection gets bigger. At 50+ now......
Glycine Combat Sub (yes, I know they are owned by Invicta)
Once again, you never fail to entertain as you educate. Your brand of humour is fantastic.
Colour palette of yes...lol 😂 had me spitting coffee everywhere, love this show.
The thing I love about the Agelocer shop website is all the typos offering to let you buy a watch coloured ‘glod’ (that took 3 attempts to defeat the spellchecker to let me type ‘glod’ and not ‘gold’) or to have a steel ‘strip’ to hold it to your wrist because a strap is so passe
Is it the finest glod?
I love chinese typos. I have a "waterproog resistant" not rolex submariner. It says that. On the case. Not the listing, not the manual (which speaks constantly of a cocaine mechanism somewhere in the watch). It is laser etched onto the caseback specs - 100 meters waterproog resistant.
The Casio Duro, change the rubber strap for a decent metal bracelet and you look like a million dollars for a few bucks...
Great video. And the one liners just get better 😂
I've just about stopped watching every other watch channel these days apart from yours & the Mad Watch Collector. Great work
"To cheap to choke a turtle" haha the scripting is genius. Thanx.
The A168 has a plastic case, only the bracelet is metal. You need to go to the a1000 for a steel case.
So many AndrewMorgan’ism on this video I need to rewatch it again!! Rhymes with bolex. Pair with your zippy shorts. Love it. Dad puns are best puns.
I genuinely laughed at the Star Wars reference, great episode, liked and subscribed
The Bulova Marine Star Series B is an amazing watch for $250, especially considering the quality of the finishing and bracelet. Some really cheap Chinese watches can be nice for the price but those are a mixed bag
I was going to suggest the Sea-Gull 1963 but I've been beaten to it... I've got a Sugess version which my wife brought back from China, and so far it's been great. Regarding pizza, we had grape and strawberry pizza on holiday in Montenegro in the summer... just something to ponder on... 🙂
I just subscribed for the laughs i had in this video.. Thanks!
Many watches nice watches are available under $260 from San Martin to the Pro Diver to Casio to Pusar to Lorus to Pagani to Timex to Momentum. All of these watches are well made and will function well. I have never had an issue with any of them.
Good overview of these Andrew. The Timex is one I have.
Andrew yet another fantastically funny, excellent video. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Greetings from Mexico, great channel enjoyed everything.
It's good to reward ourselves sometimes . While I'm not one to spend on high-end watch (I spend too much money on travel, lol), I can appreciate your gorgeous and timeless watch. I love how it's a symbol of all your hard work. And i choose NKUWAN every time honestly
I have a Sugess Tourbillon. It's really fun to watch. It cost me $799 and not $150,000 or a million dollars. I appreciate handcraftmanship and I'm not suggesting hand made expensive watches are not worth the prices. Add gold and the price shoots up. But if you're on a budget and you like a fun watch, Chinese tourbillon's are great fun and they keep good time. Japanese watches are fantastic also. Love watches. Love the GMT Traveller watches from Citizen. Love the satellite watches and radio controlled as they are atomic time accurate. It's all about what you can afford. And what your priorities are. Champagne taste on a beer income.
“And you never have to worry about scratching it because it’s simply impossible not to scratch!” 11:18 😂
Very entertaining video, Andrew. I recently saw a post-workout video of the snooker great and IWC aficionado, Ronnie O'Sullivan. He was wearing a Casio F91. New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has been wearing what looks like an F91 during matches. My daily is a Lorus titanium quartz. It is a fantastic inexpensive watch.
I watched a few slow motion videos of Lockie’s bowling, but he seemed to be wearing a fitness band in all these videos I watched 😞
Bought Citizen echo, square about 25 years ago for peanuts in Cardiff, still going ok..no battery needed ..excellent value.
1 year owning the Dresskx now. Thought i would wear it more often than i do. I think the PRX Quartz is a better option. The green dial PRX is my most complimented watch by far.
Very entertaining as well as informative. Thanks
Hilariously brilliant, entertaining & informative. Even better than your Watchfinder & Co videos 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Why thank you sir
OMG!!! The level of, I'm going to say 'Wit?' and monologued banter is so worth the price of admission!
First thing that has actually made me laugh out loud (not LOL, which is bullshit) in days.
Keep up the amazing work!
Great humor. I’m in. Subscribed today.
I don’t like my invicta pro diver, it broke after a month of owning it and the movement has developed a scraping crunching sound in the auto winding works with that, not keeping as good of time as it used too, I’ve only owned it for 4 months too
Got rid of mine bought a casio wave ceptor 100% better😊
Fascinating. Subscribed !
I also have a Timex Expedition like the one shown. It is my goto backpacking watch. The light has come in handy. It is also the only watch I have gotten a spontaneous compliment on. A woman saw it across the bar and exclaimed, "Is that an Expedition? I love Expedition watches!" (Fun fact: I was not wearing an Expedition at the time, but a similar field watch.)
I highly recommend this watch.
A chick magnet. I will start wearing mine to the coffee shop.
If you're into vintage looking watches, Baltany is my pick. The 1921 Cockeyed homage watch is BEAUTIFUL in person...and its been very accurate for month since receiving it. $169.00.
Absolutely true, Baltany is my top pick for the same reason. There’s like, 7 different watches that I want to get from them. 😅
Especially pleased i picked my 38mm bambino up from an AD for under £190 if they're going for "as low as 230" now!
Casio AE-1200! Unique appearance, all the complications, a backlight that doesn’t suck, all for $25.
Wearing mine right now. Haha.
Me too😀
And it even has a GMT complication! A bargain!
The Chinese tourbillion is crazy awesome and for a crazy price.
Also it concerns me the ga-2100 series isn’t on this list. It’s literally the coolest watch you can buy for $100.
Even the AE1200 too
There's any number of Casios that could make the list. Whatever your favorite G-Shock is. I don't love the look of the AE1200, but 10yr battery + 100m WR + all those timekeeping functions is great value. A lot of the Edifice line are great, too, from the EFB-108's brilliant integrated bracelet and sapphire to the 527's chronograph and internal slide-rule bezel.
That said, my personal pick is the MDV-106 Duro. Solid beater dive watch for $50. I'd rather that than an Invicta.
I might not trust your reviews, but you are by far the most entertaining. I will subscribe to you so I can keep choking on my food while I eat and watch you slam watches.
Comedy goldmine and kudos for the wonderful and fun script! Love it and keep up the good work, Steven!
As someone named Stephen I feel you were speaking directly to me. But still having conniptions about buying an Invicta
Love my Casio AE1000 (round version of the Royale) does everything and looks cool for 30 quid 😊❤
I went on a Casio purchase spree and bought AE-1000,1200,1300,1400,1500 & 3000 ( and many more Casios) 😀
Love your style. Subbed 🎉
My personal favorite cheap watch right now is the Bulova Sea King with some of the features of a Grand Seiko but without the entry price of 5k.
300m wr, AR sapphire, +-10 seconds of accuracy a year and a sweeping seconds hand. Granted, their new Jetstar watches have some of those things as well but I'm biased towards bezels that feel nice to turn.
Vintage Andrew. Love it. The best thing? He's the only watch reviewer I've found who actually knows how to pronounce Blancpain.
Dear Andrew ,
Psychologist better than you ,still not born yet.
Many thanks for the beautiful episode.
With huge respect and appreciation
Nizar
Thank you!
Tandorio, imitates historic military pieces (pilots, field and divers), Seiko diving classics, etc., stainless steel, sapphire crystal, 200M of WR the vast majority and the Cossworth engine of the horological microbrands, the Seiko NH-35. It has a luminescence that last less than than than a teenager first sexual experience, but for a prices between $60 and $80 I think it worths the shot. I have the one that homages the MoD 6b/542 produced for RAF pilots in 1953 by Omega, and and love it... :)
Another incredible episode of AMW- 🔥🔥💯
New sub. Brilliantly narrated
Casio Duro. $47 US dollars and in the US still has the marlin on it.
Great video. Instant sub.
That you very much!
Funniest place on the interweb, love to be informed & entertained at the same time, thanks!
I thank you!
Informative and with great humor! 😂👌
😂❤ Andrew ….. you make me choke on my Breakfast.
Concise, hilarious and absolutely on the button. Dog droppings on your wrist and all.
Long may you purple reign …..
Have recently started trawling You Tube for watch videos and these are by far the wittiest I've found yet. Keep it up. Regards - Stephen
This is my favorite theme for any video you've ever made.
Thank you!
Andrew, do you know how hard it is for someone who is not an english native speaker to follow this amount of witty 18 minutes? Very hard! But very entertaining! Thanks and kind regards from Vienna.
Wish you would do a review of the depth charge watches..as a breitling fan myself with many ..I can't beat a depth charge watch for every day beater
“So far it hasn’t exploded in his face” 😂 this was a cracker thank you for the video. Loving them but I agree with someone who mentioned maybe the cuts mention the upcoming section so it’s less abrupt
What about Pagani and San Martin? I've found some of their models to be surprisingly well-made for just a modest price!
It´s good to see the most iconic watch voice. 🙂
You are so enjoyable to listen to, very clever
That last line was a bit rich- but definitely on the money lol. U r the perfect froth of commercialisation & trite entertainment value that brings a chuckle to me at the end of the day. Bravo. Not everything has to be deep & meaningful - but that doesn't mean we want to accidentally sleep with stupid. That blue is a great colour choice. Keep up the good work. Yr so entertaining I'll make a point of spending my shekels through yr site at some point.
Great writing! Very refreshing!
Phantom Menace pun was brilliant !!!
My inexpensive “gotta have” watch is my Casio MRW-200H. It’s quartz analog, and a great watch for $21.
$13 here in India !
My Surface Top Side Crew (black dial) is my favourite daily, worth every penny.
Love the humour mate! 😂 Now then, how's about an Orient diver-style Mako 2, Kamasu or Mako 40? For a cheap pint 🍻
The Citizen Tsuyosa is a great option. If you want a cheaper quartz equivalent, try the Casio MTP-B145D. If you want something more expensive, try the Tissot PRX.
