First time that I completely vleaned and calibrated my K-Ultra. Your video was very helpful. Straight forward and no unnecessary talking or information. Thanks buddy, happy brewing ❤
Hi master, thank you for making such wonderful video. I noticed that mine after re-assembling that the spokes on the adjustment dial do not align with the spokes on the body core piece. I wondered if I did something wrong and spokes came aligned at the factory!?
Hi, thank you for making this cleaning hand grinder tutorial. I have further questions about cleaning and maintenance hand grinders Q1. Is it necessary to spray the bearings with food grade silicone (WD 40) and applied food grade grease on the grinder shaft to prevent steel rubbing each other ij the long run? 2. Is it safe for the internal parts especially the grinder burr, if we spray / mist the coffe beans first before grinding to decrease static effects? TIA
Thank you for your comment. Q1: I personally don’t use lubricant. I just open it up and brush off the coffee residue, which works fine. Q2: Too much water is definitely not good, but a light spray or even dipping a spoon handle in water and stirring the beans should be fine. I always do RDT before grinding. However, I have heard that the bearings in some grinders, like the KinGrinder K6, might rust over time, but so far, I haven't had any issues with the bearings in any grinder.
Actually the retention is really low, so there won't be lots of leftover grinds within the grinder. I usually clean it every month. If you grind darker roasted beans, I recommend cleaning it more frequently.
Please check 1:24 in the video. Are you referring to that burr set? If so, you need to twist it clockwise; it's pretty tight. I don't usually remove it every time I clean the burr.
@@brewcoffeehome Yea, you are right. I was trying to indicate lower burr ring. But mind was extremely tight so i am not sure if is tight or it can't be removed for a K-Plus model. Hence i didnt try further, worried that I might spoil it.
First things first: Why should this grinder ever need cleaning and how often? Cleaning looks like a lot of work and requires skill. As bad as disassembling and cleaning a gun.
Someone should invent a grinder that can be cleaned by simply putting it in the dishwasher with no disassembly or calibration. That would probably be very profitable for them. I've got better things to do with my time than the cleaning hassle I am seeing here.

This video is fantastic. I’ve had mine for over five years and not one cleaning
Thank you for making this!

@@brewcoffeehome Brilliant. Thanks for your reply it’s much appreciated
Can we remove the bottom of burr set for K-Plus? I tried to twist. But doesn't seem to work

ZP6 is also K series?
Yes, just followed this for my Zp6.
Bearing has specific direction?
No, both sides will work for the bearing.

A lot of people actually enjoy this process, but honestly, it works just fine even without frequent cleaning.
It really should take you around 4 minutes once every 6 months
I'm sure you can find the time
@@Joao-or2kz Maybe you can come to my house and clean it. I'll only charge you a dollar.
@@andrewtaylor9799 lol way to tell a billion people how much of a lazy fuck you are
If you don’t want to clean it, buy another product or make your own. Clearly you think it’s be profitable.
