I really like the fact that all these minis are rare booster boxes drops, like wotc knew how hard some of their minis were to find and now I can FINALLY get myself a death tyrant !
Courious to see them making another Young Blue Dragon Maybe they'll give a new sculpt to all the dragons as a chance to get them again If someone missed the previous wave.
Wasn’t the other young blue a flying one? While this one is on the ground so maybe they’re doing what they did for the unpainted Griffon and have a aerial and grounded version of each. Would definitely be cool if a bit expensive lmao
Yes! I do love the pre-painted, but nothing beats painting, customizing and making it your own. So glad I'll be able to do that with rares from previous sets!
I'm happy to see it, finding the unpainted versions of what I couldn't grab painted is cool. Now I don't feel like I missed out, and I can try something new when it comes to paint work.
I'm really happy with the updated Planetar figure. The old fly base for the painted figure was so bad, that I took the smoke effect from the mummy unpainted figure and used that as a fly base for my painted Planetar.
Some nice stuff in this wave. I like the improved Death Tyrant, but man those eyestalks, must be easy to break off. Love the Oaken Bolter, like a little brother to the old War Drums Arcane Ballista. I like how it has mechanical arms to re-arm itself, clever design. Curious that the Allip is translucent when the V&M's Foes one wasn't.
I'm getting every damned one of these. Hats off to WotC for upgrading the quality of the minis with better detail. Hard as hell to paint some the W1 & W2 when the seam for the mold is off by an 1/8" to 1/4" of an inch, i shit you not. Not griping at them but glad to see that the quality is going up since the prices did on some things. That doesn't bother me as much as having to file, scrape, knife and then putty. Great review my friend!
That Death Tyrant; I permanently removed the central eye and drilled out the floating eyes. The designer of this miniature didn't completely understand the project. Definitely didn't comprehend the reference art.
I’m so excited for the Death Tyrant! I’ve been buying Mad Mage boxes like crazy to try and score one - so far I’m unsuccessful, but this is an excellent new sculpt and I think I’ll grab that when it’s released :D

Any idea of the dimensions of the young blue dragon? I have plans to use it in a diorama for a pc case mod and am limited on space. All I can find is reference to creature size, not actual model size (HxWxL)
From the tip of its horn to the curve of its tail is about 5.5 inches long. It's 3.5 inches tall from the base to tall point where its wings bend. And it's about 4.25 inches at its widest point on our model, but the wings look overly bent downward. You may be able to heat it up and spread the wings out if you want, but that expanded wingspan would make it wider. -Grady
So what is the difference between this young blue dragon and the young blue dragon from wave 8? Both of them are unpainted I get they’re different poses but why have they re released this one?
Couldn't tell ya why certain models get released. It could be that the they had certain models commissioned for different purposes and decided to release them here. Or perhaps certain minis are just really popular and so new poses make sense from a marketing perspective. -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin fair enough didn’t know if they’d be different sizes and maybe there would be a “correct” one to get but maybe it’s just like the regular Griffon and the diving one same model different pose. Thank you!
They're scheduled for July 2021 currently but no exact date has been announced. It'll either be later this month or it may be a rolling release where different game stores get stock as shipping works out.
These are a lot of B sides and repeats. I would like to see Wizkids expand upon their line of giants. There are a lot of gaps in their current offerings. And that Warforged Titan looks like an inbred cousin of the 40K Imperial Knight Titan.
I like these minis a lot, but am beginning to see a trend in that all the minis so far presented in the vids have similar issues to them, too much primer, flash, air pockets, and the seams are very prevalent. I don't understand why they release these minis in these conditions on them, totally floors me. When I buy these primed minis I just want to paint them, not fix manufacturing mistakes, overall the issues are fixable ( except I wouldn't know how to fix the air pocket issue TBH) and the sculpts are very clear, so I would still buy them.

doesnt bode well when minis they send for review are not properly prepped despite being primed.
