They're so versatile when it comes to colour schemes, because each one of them is unique you actually cannot wrongly paint a Beholder, you can have them green or brown or pink or even the same colour as Sully from Monsters.Inc the colour scheme possibilities are endless
Cheers! Yeah I am happy with this Beholder for now! I might want to revisit it at some point to add more highlights on the scales and such on the body, what do you think? Thanks for commenting! :)
Thank you so much Ian for saying so! Yeah I do have a second Beholder and I might paint that one up with all of the magical effects and whatnot! Thanks again!
@@DevsDice Also getting some serious Eye of Sauron vibes with this beholders eye. Funnily, my favorite detail might be how the gums turned out, they look so good.

@@DevsDice Thank you! I really need to get back into doing videos. I just don't know if the market is already oversaturated enough. What brand of glue do you use? I’ve used a super glue that doesn’t always work the first time, and I’ve had to re-glue several times to get parts to hold properly.
So I have had incident where that happened when I first dealt with Reaper Bones minis. I think more than the glue that it was the fact that there might have been some release agent on the miniature. But to answer your question: the super glues I have had success with are: Loctite super glue, Gorilla super glue and Army Painters superglue! Hope that helps! Thanks for commenting! 🤘
Devs & Dice I’ll give those a try, thanks. The final product was great! Wow the mouth looks like it’s full of salvia and the tongue even looks wet. Great job!
Cool! If it doesn't work then we will figure something out cause it should! :) Thanks! Yeah I am really happy with the mouth, teeth and eye(s)! I do find that using matt varnish and then going in with gloss varnish makes a mini come to life! Thanks for commenting! 🤘
Hi! Sorry I for some reason didn't get a notification on your comment, I usually reply sooner than this! First off, thanks for the nice comment! Well, when painting minis, they can scare you but try to break it down into smaller pieces in your head is what I would do. Also, remember that it's only paint and if you go on thin, you can easily re-paint 3-4 times without loosing details.
Genuinely loved this. The creativity was astounding!
Thank you kindly! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍😊

I totally agree! That's why I bought a couple of these so I will paint a couple more as time goes!
Beholders are fun
That looks very good. I definitely dig the blue, and it was a good color call for the eye too. Well done.
Thanks Jeff! Yeah this one is one of my better "older" paint schemes! 👍🤣
I don't know what I like more the eyes, the mouth, the teeth, the base. Just a fantastic job all around

This is truly a masterpiece of an eye tyrant. Your painting skills are legendary.
Wow! Thank you so much! Not sure about that but I'll take it! Thanks again! 💙
@21:59 , those gums look gloriously diseased. Fantastic work.
Haha! Thank you very much! :D
Beautiful work, this is the 3rd video I've watched on how to paint a Behloder but this has got to be my favourite.

Oh! This is very interesting! Care to elaborate? 👍😃
Awesome looking final product!
Thank you! I have one more on my list! I figured I would do this one with the "spell effects"! :)
Found the beholder video :) Another cracking tutorial and looks superb when finished.
Thanks! Yeah the next one might involve the optional lens and spell effects! :D
Happy New Year to you, too! I'm sure 2020 will be AWESOME! ;)

Superbe Beholder !!
Thank you kindly!
Great job on this one!
Thank you so much! :D
Awesome channel!! The only thing I think would be cool is laying out what paint colors you use for the model in the beginning of the videos!!
Thank you so much Jeremy! That's an awesome idea! That being said, I rarely plan things out that much! 😂

Awesome work Leif, makes we want to attack my own boxes of shame :)
Do it man! You have everything to win and nothing to lose! Also, Merry X-mas to you buddy! 🤘
I found if you score the bottom of the fig and the top of the base the super glue holds considerably better
Yeah very true! :)
About the hue problem with the camera, it's the white balance, you need to adjust the color temperature a few degrees warmer
Thanks Adrian! 👍😃
Can you do a devil next? Idk if you have any of them in your box of shame but that would be awesome. Keep up the good work, love your paint jobs!

What paint did you use for the bones on each side of his head
Not sure to be honest, I rewatched the video and I do mix several paints so whatever looks good! 👍😅

Sorry I don't know much about mini's, is that the standard 28 mm scale?
Well yes kind of, it in the same scale but this miniature is considered "large" in D&D rules! Hope that helps BeastGuyver! 👍😊
This was absolutely awesome. I'm starting out myself and am kinda intimidated by the beholder figure I got as a present. Any tips???

Ok. This is a start for me. Appreciate the advice!!
No problem! Good luck and remember - have fun!
What colors did you use?
I honestly do not remember but mostly army painter and vallejo paints! 👍😊
How much time did you spend painting this miniature?
I think it might have taken all in all like two evenings or so? About 2 hour-sessions each evening? Not counting drying time of course :D
There was a lens in there? I guess I already lost mine...
Yeap but I seem to remember that it was quite well hidden being all transparent and such in the blister pack! :(
Amazing 😍
Thank you so much BATTLEREADY! Glad you like it! 👍🙂
