      i love your stuff this is only constructive criticism. Brad you're letting things go down. You have started to disappoint me your videos. In the beginning used to be very clear, and had specific sections/topics, and now you do not. You used to also clearly explain the difference between pen displays and a tablet. now you just called pen displays tablets! very disappointed. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna stop watching.😉 also brad for however long I've been watching you (since the beginning when I subscribed, it's most probably like five years now) I've been waiting for a tablet that is 17-18 -19 inches. Could you ask Wacom if they will make a tablet this size, but like a cheap version like this moveink please, on behalf of me pleeease?

    • @rhoharane
      @rhoharane 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +30

      Wacom isn't charging a large sum for no reason. If you require accuracy, Kamvas really doesn't cut it vs a Cintiq. If you are the type who needs it, they are night and day different and you can tell the difference immediately.
      But at the end of they day, buy what you need and what you can afford at the time.
      Still, it's a shame that they haven't figured out how to make the technology cheaper without sacrificing the quality after all these years. It's also disappointing that they are going back to a 13-inch at this price. We were supposed to be at 16 inches already.

      @@rhoharane the heck you do you mean by accuracy, all other drawing tablet brands have really damn accurate pens. my kamvas 13 and kamvas 22+ have basically the same 'accuracy' as the wacom Qintiq 16 I have. What you say is no more than a placebo of getting a "premium device"

    As an animator, I've been in the market for a portable screen tablet for a while, still using an large Intuos pro. The ipad pro is appealing but Im not keen on the feel or iOS. The Movink to me, is a great step toward what I'm interested investing in, but, the 1080p limit is not great. To me, it's missing the mark, and would like to see a 16inch with 1440p for those higher end users.

The i-Pad is an excellent drawing experience, but I feel like just looking at it crosseyed will activate some new feature that I need to spend 15 minutes on Safari just to learn how to deactivate. Having it only react to the pen (provided you can still access the shortcuts via the side buttons) would allow me to really get into drawing without worrying about palm rejection.

    I went with the iPad pro a few years ago, because I need to be able to "spin" my drawing table around without wires. When I was a kid, I used to turn my notebook sideways and spin it to get good angles. Ya know, before they let you pinch and flip the screen itself. I draw just for fun, so I don't have a desire to learn how to use something tethered. I might just stick with the iPad.

      It’s a software thing. There are some desktop only softwares, like Toon Boom, that don’t support iPads as a drawing tablet. At least… not without an $80 a year subscription to Astropad… and then there’s the drawing experience. IPads are really nice… but as a professional artist drawing on one of these 8 hours a day… a cintiq is just plain nicer to draw on. I’m a digital nomad artist that regularly uses Toon Boom. So for me this is a no-brainer upgrade from my 13” cintiq pro… mainly because of how thin and light it is but also because FINALLY I don’t need a rats nest of cables plus (another) power brick to use it.

PS sometimes (soooo wish i could dump adobe...but clients...) and z-brush. I don't mind using a computer, esp a powerful laptop, its just real estate on iPad is the reason i don't use it for more than in front of TV work. I'd use other software on iPad otherwise to get the job done. But if they went bigger, at that thinness it would be easy on the lap. Would you mind to compare the painting/drawing of Movink 13 and Ipad pro 2024 since you have the both product and you are a professional artist, would like to have your opinions.

    How does this compare to an S8 Ultra Tab? I got one of those half a year after release. Drew one picture...haven't touched it less. Feel it's past its prime to resell close to buying price of 1200+...feeling down to say the least man. Man it's hard getting time for hobbies, and when you do, motivation :(.

    The Movink is the end result of Wacom seeing other competitors releasing more affordable products and them not being a monopoly on drawing displays anymore.
    Competition drives innovation and lower prices and improved features.

    How do you compare it with an iPad connected to your Mac @thebradcolbow ? iPad has better color, better resolution, better pencil and its a powerful device itself. The only drawback for me is lack of keys on the Apple pencil, which makes righ, mid clicks challenging. What do you think?

      This is a huge question for me! I'm surprised it wasn't covered... I'm debating between an upgrade to the movink or to a new ipad air 12.9 inch. Currently use an older 2nd gen ipad pro 12.9, or my seriously out of date hp zbook.

      In my experience on a 13 inch 1080p is just fine, on a larger screen you definitely want more if possible

    and im really surprised wacom made this tablet at a decent price
    im deciding on buying a tablet for drawing on the go, and the one i found with decent specs is lenovo tab p12, i just need it for usual stuff such as youtube, some social media, Pinterest, clip studio and infinite painter. but i cant find any artist review anywhere. if you get the chance, can you please do a review?

    The touch gestures looked like they performed well enough in comparison to touch gestures on older PC tablets. Hope they make a 16-19" version and I will finally have something I want to upgrade to. I like that it comes with that customizable on screen menu, I use a software called Tabletfriend which works well enough.

      Yeah a 16 inch would be cool too but I bet it's will be more expensive plus I had to look at how big a 16 inch display is and it big to me lol. I remember going to best buy and I see how big the samsung ultra is and that's 14 inches.

    Somehow, as someone who hasn't heard of this before I saw this review pop up on my TH-cam homepage, I feel as though not only is Wacom making a decent small pen display that is also a decent portable monitor, but that they're trying to complete with the recently announced Xencelabs Pen Display 16, at least on portability, though that could also just be coincidental.

    I like tablets to be a bit bigger. I'm leaning toward a Samsung ultra for portability. I'm not a huge fan of the new Wacom pen. I tried it on the 22 pro and it wasn't for me. I love the radial menus though.

    Hi! I didn't really understand... How is this tablet powered? Is there a builtin processor or is it powered by the PC/Mac? If so, it's a disappointment for me. I don't really use my Xpen 16" Artist pro for that reason... Why this name "movink" if it's not portable and not an ink tablet? 😢

    Thanks Brad. Too small for me. I want something like this but 20" and not cost a ridiculous amount like the pro 22. Otherwise, I will just stick to my giant 24" pro and the Ipad pro for on the go.

    Anyone try this with FCPX video editing? I’ve used a low-end Wacom (no display) for years, but this would be game changing. I don’t WANT the FCP iPad app… I want the MacOS version, but to edit with touch/pen.

  • @GugartsAnimations
    @GugartsAnimations 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

    They could make an ips version with 120hz and without the touch screen.
    And they could probably make a cheaper version that way.
    The qled screens at huion are already incredible, oled seems a bit overkill when you can get something similar cheaper.
    4k or 2.5k would be unnecessary in this case too, at least they didn't try to make it even more expensive.
