The point is that she takes any song, from That'll be the day to Silver threads to Tumbling dice - not to mention Canciones de mi padre - and makes something out of it that comes from some galaxy where only angels have access . Unique woman, unique singer!
Of any generation I'm sure. When you consider the huge amount of different musical genres she has sang extremely well and sang/ collaborated with so many great other singers due to her powerful and beautiful voice. I seriously think there will never be someone as great as linda Ronstadt.
I fell in love with Linda in 1976 when I was only 10 years old. My sister called her record company so I could speak to her, and a few days later Linda called me at home. I asked her to marry me and cried when she said ''no''. After that I was her #1 fan, and she called me for years checking up on me to see if I had a girlfriend yet. True Story. I still Love her today, she never married.
Well, in her case it's a combination of talent, experience and professionalism. Experience: sing the same songs for months at a time on tour. Professionalism: expert preparation combined with knowing all the "tricks of the trade" - like getting a pitch note from one of the guitarists, which you can hear before they start, and the drummer tapping his sticks together to set the tempo. Talent: Hell, that lady could flat sing anything! Loved her since I bought her first solo album - Hand Sown, Home Grown - in a record store in Westwood in 1969 for $1.99.
Linda practiced singing 6 hrs a day to master her vocal cord “instrument” as she put it...10,000 hrs in by the time she was in her early 20’s...hard work!
Wow, I never knew that . Interesting. I was once told I sang good. That’s perhaps what I should have done but I you have to have a lot of charisma too.
Seeing her perform this tune live I swear the power of that first note makes it feel like she could blow off the roof of auditorium if she wanted to. Beauty and talent all rolled into one, there will never be another like her.
Linda is and will always be one of the greatest voices of generations, No Auto Tune 🎵 Just Pure Authentic Talent!!! She is ultimate crossover artist it didn’t matter what genre it was she could sing it all and did!! More times than not her version of a song was often better than the original. Amazing gifted talent ❤🎶
That soaring, powerful, breathtaking, articulate voice w/ great phrasing & Rock N Roll attitude to boot...no one compares to Linda Ronstadt...shakin' my head....
The difference between Linda Ronstadt and most other female singers ever, is that she was not just a beautiful girl flaunting flirting showing off, displaying her beauty on stage, but to the contrary, she was a fenómenal incomparable singer artist who just happen to have a delightful beauty charm, charisma. Combining all these with the fact that she sang extremely superbly in more than a dozen musical genres ,is unsurpassed by any American singer. No wonder so so so many very famous artists and band groups reached to collaborate with her. Linda Ronstadt is not only a true American Gem and a National Treasure , but an International adored Treasure as well.
Linda is the leader of the band, the captain of the ship, lead singer, she is her own backup singer, she is the chorus, all simultaneously. ("Watch her doing all these") Minute 2:32 Astonishingly very powerful voice and sings absolutely beautifully. Only linda Ronstadt.
Yes we Agree that the 2000s kids don't have a Linda but if they listen to there Grandparents they might 😉!!!!! Thanks Again Linda for all the Memories ol couple way down in TX 52yrs ❤
The best rendition of this song that I've ever heard and Linda Ronstadt is the only person who can sing an artist's original song better than the artist can.
Linda Ronstadt is the only female artist who can be the driving force and captain who commands the ship, be the lead singer & be her very own backup-singer at the same time. No other singer could be that good.
Easily one of the greatest singers in rock. Amazing pitch, She can hit any key and can rock with the best of them. How many female singers today could front a HOF rock and roll band ? NONE. Not an auto tune insight. No dancers, silly idiotic fluff. I saw her live twice in the 70's in LA and she truly was amazing. Pitch perfect with a wonderful range. Truly amazing.
@@rhondaboncutter5812 Cool, keep what you have!...My sister has Simple Dreams, but I missed out on her back in the 70's...at least we have Linda on vid which is still just amazing...

Absolutely the total package was so fortunate to see Linda perform live. You see this beautiful lady make her way to the stage small in stature then she starts singing and her unbelievable booming voice every note spot on and you watch and listen to her and you know it doesnt get any better then this.Thank you Linda Ronstant!
My very Favorite upbeat song by Linda Ronstadt, This is my Favorite Live version!! I was so Lucky to see her for the first time in Atlanta, Ga. the Famous Concert where she's wearing a Vest, Jeans, Boots. I was only 16 at the time and it was a school night. I will never Forget it!! saw her in Concert again in 1982 in Atlanta, Ga. She won a Grammy for the single "That'll be the Day"
She is amazing as always and this band is as tight as they come. Love the sound of the dueling Strats and wonder what they are playing through. Very inspiring playing and technically excellent.
I've had this rare privilege to see Linda Ronstad sing this song live in concert many times throughout the years and The Eagle's sung by Don Henley and for me Linda sang way differently but Don sang it this past January in thousand Palms. CA. and he sang it with an intensity and so much passion as well
