She sang opera, standards with Nelson Riddle's great Orchestra. Country with Dolly & Emmy Lou Harris. She did it all extremely well. There's nobody who can even come close to her greatness.

Golly...imagine a female vocalist and band who could captivate and entertain an audience without an LED wall...looking like a stripper...and dancing half naked...incredible. Thanks Linda. This is what an empowered woman looks and sounds like.
Empowered is just one of those modern terms that is, well, annoying. I am a woman and not a particularly strong or empowered" one and I don't need other ones telling me I should be. Linda was a girl with a great voice who just sang and sang from the heart. You are right she just stood there and sang. She was emblematic of nothing but she could sing anything. No modern singer compares.
I took a few voice lessons from an opera singer and she told me that the best singers are very intelligent. LInda Ronstadt was one of the most intelligent singers in popular music for decades. She could do pretty much whatever she wanted to with her amazing voice.
In the summer of 1977 (maybe) I went with about 8 friends to see the Rolling Stones down in Tucson. The huge crowd went absolutely crazy when Linda came out on stage to sing this song with the Stones, completley by surprise.
I used to sneak into my brother’s room the play her albumns! Imsaw her in concert in 1977 at Mike High Stadium. I had the best teenage years for music. Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, dan Fogelberg, CSN, it was real talent and ingenuity!
The thing that was always great about Linda Ronstadt is the fact that she didn't rely on any "Gimmicks" or celebrity behavior to sell herself. Her singing talent spoke for itself. Her music has really stood the test of time.
Man, back in the 70's Linda held every world record for CUTE!!! Me and all my musician friends had major crushes on her!! J.D. Souther was such a lucky man!!!
I remember Linda Ronstadt when I was 5 years old, the song was it's so easy to fall in love, from then on I always remembered her, Linda Ronstadt !!! Love all I have learned of her, watching the CNN special on Linda Ronstadt. the other night BLOWN AWAY !!! First it reminded me how much I loved & remembered her, I might add respect Linda, she was responsible for the Eagles band!!! Not all people know about this, also she was the only female artist to make #1 on the R&B, rock, & country #1 list ever !!! So what I am saying is Linda Ronstadt is truly BV A QUEEN OF ROCK FOR EVER !!!✌️🌟🌟🌟💕
When I hear Linda sing, I always think of my late dad. She was one of his favorite female musicians. Dad gave me his amazing taste in music. God bless him!
My Dad used to play this in the morning to wake us up for school. No better alarm clock on Earth than Linda and a Gibson Les Paul! It made you want to get up and kick ass at anything you did!
Man, I’m glad I lived in the musical era that I did. I saw Linda at about this time in a low-ceilinged, intimate venue here in Louisville. I was so in love with her. Only one problem......she didn’t know I existed. Lol
Linda at her peak, and her absolute sexiest. Total babe. And one of the best voices in music history! Of course, the amazing Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar. Did you know Waddy is actually left-handed? Amazing guitarist!
James Rudd A torch, rock n roll singer, or as she also says "A belter"... The most perfect cry in her voice, a songwriter's dream vocalist... "Linda Ronstadt, the hardest working voice of my generation!"... 😍
Plays right, autographs left. Neat! So did George Harrison and Chet Atkins. It just makes sense for a left handed person to take advantage of the strength and dexterity of the dominant hand, and just let teh stupid hand to the easy parts.
As a 17yo kid in '75 - our Ozzie TV mag had pull out posters. The two on my uni flat wall - were Linda and ONJ! I still loved ONJ (even with Grease) - but Linda is totally peerless! She could sing rock, ballads, pop, country ... etc! If I ever want to show my friends the magic of the woman - just play Tumblin Dice live - extraordinary!🤩

Yes, her & Jeff Buckley! They are both my favorites & both had rare four octave ranges & were so versatile they could do any genre!
Yup. She took Alison from Elvis Costello, and Willin' from Lowell George to name two more she 'owned'.
Yeah, it's called talent.
Golly...imagine a female vocalist and band who could captivate and entertain an audience without an LED wall...looking like a stripper...and dancing half naked...incredible. Thanks Linda. This is what an empowered woman looks and sounds like.
She did have the braless look rocking though.
Amen. Her talent always at the forefront. Everyone was going braless.
Well said my friend
@@yvettesanchez4691 Amazing days. Girls just want to show off their butts now.
I get the same smile on my face I got 40 years ago when I saw Linda, she will always be perfect to me...
Linda Ronstadt's voice was a perfect musical instrument.
I love how she shakes off the other sounds, and lets that voice go, knowing that every being with a hint of music in them, must surely smile..
No need for her to 'entertain'. She is the pure definition of a singer.
Man, back in the 70's Linda held every world record for CUTE!!!
Me and all my musician friends had major crushes on her!! J.D. Souther was such a lucky man!!!
Nancy Wilson can belt it out, but Ronstadt knocks it out of the park every time.
I actually heard her do this song before I heard the STONES lol. Great version.
this is the definition of "going on stage and belting out a song".
The queen of the 70s and still is today! Miss you Linda!
Linda Ronstadt !! Who wouldn't want to be her ?! Gifted voice, Gifted looks, Gifted Lovers, Lived Life !! Thank You Linda Ronstadt !!
When I hear Linda sing, I always think of my late dad. She was one of his favorite female musicians. Dad gave me his amazing taste in music. God bless him!
I could watch and listen to Linda’s videos all night. I did once but I’m older (66) now. Gotta go to bed. She’s the best!
Wow , Linda Ronstadt and Waddy Wachtel. Thanks for posting .
Linda was every young 70's guy crush. Beautiful.
My Dad used to play this in the morning to wake us up for school. No better alarm clock on Earth than Linda and a Gibson Les Paul! It made you want to get up and kick ass at anything you did!
It's amazing. With her voice, even the concerts were studio quality.
This film is from a movie so its filmed professionally
Man, I’m glad I lived in the musical era that I did. I saw Linda at about this time in a low-ceilinged, intimate venue here in Louisville. I was so in love with her. Only one problem......she didn’t know I existed. Lol
Been there Buddy. Done that. Made eye contact with Janis Joplin at a show long ago,...........she went home with the bass player
Pure talent. No ink, no auto anything. Just playing and singing.
I don't think she ever looked more beautiful than in this performance.
She was a living example of the old Hebrew saying that "sometimes God gives with BOTH hands".
yeah she seems to be beaming here.
Linda at her peak, and her absolute sexiest. Total babe. And one of the best voices in music history!
Of course, the amazing Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar. Did you know Waddy is actually left-handed? Amazing guitarist!
+James Rudd I still adore the hell out of her.
when I got to see her I remember how gorgeous she was too; 1970. always is.
man Waddy's so perfect.
James Rudd A torch, rock n roll singer, or as she also says "A belter"... The most perfect cry in her voice, a songwriter's dream vocalist... "Linda Ronstadt, the hardest working voice of my generation!"... 😍
i luv her but she looks burned out and bored here
Plays right, autographs left. Neat! So did George Harrison and Chet Atkins. It just makes sense for a left handed person to take advantage of the strength and dexterity of the dominant hand, and just let teh stupid hand to the easy parts.
what a woman!!!
Linda could sing the phone book and it would be SOLID GOLD
An absolute Masterpiece, by an absolute Master! Beauty and Talent!
Beautiful voice beautiful woman. Great band. Greatest woman singer ever.
So real and undeniable. Thank you, dear Linda, for being part of my musical heritage.
Love Linda Ronstadt. Love that I can finally understand the words to the song. She is the best vocalist of our time -- male or female.
Totally agree.
@Leebo Leigh I don't have to look lyrics up because I understand them when Linda sings. Please re-read my comment.
Except Tumbling Dice apparently as this is far inferior to the Stones version being just a bar band cover at best.
Na !!!! Paul Rodgers is better by a gnats eyelash.... Linda best female voice.
This is what LIVE concerts were back then...No earpiece, enhancements, just pure voice and talent!!
We sure miss Linda. She had such a great voice for Rock & Roll.
Ah, that trio of Linda, Waddy Wachtel and Russell Kunkel--unbeatable!
The one and only, Linda Ronstat. No one can ever replace her talents or vocals.
Powerful Singer with Beautiful Pipes and Charisma to top it all off. She has very few Piers in my opinion. ❤❤❤❤❤
That voice has enthralled millions, and what a commanding performance. One of a kind and an inspiration for all
As a 17yo kid in '75 - our Ozzie TV mag had pull out posters.
And no autotune, she can actually sing.
Wow that growl! Gets me every time!! Never gets old!
Always had a crush on her and still do even though I'm 70 now. That voice is pure silver. God bless you Linda for the great memories and joy you gave to us.
When I was 12, I had her daisy dukes pants picture poster on my bedroom ceiling. Listened to her on headphones àt night.
