- Now that WRC 10 is available, I thought I would list 10 tips and tricks that should (in theory) help you go faster. Or just crash less. Feel free to put your own tricks of the trade in the comments.

Thanks so much for this man. The game is hard to control and as a newbie I enjoy the skill ceiling but hate the lack of “training” other than “beat this time”/figure it out bro. I’m definitely driving too slow but it’s the only way I don’t crash haha
Glad you liked it. The WRC videos rarely do so well but I'm a huge rally fan. The lack of proper training is tough, but honestly start in WRC 3 and keep at it. You'll speed up before you know it!

the bonnet camera position change in the menu is a life saver for me, i found the default way too low
Yes, I really did not like it that far down. The FOV stuff really helps.
As always great videos!! Perhaps one to add if you like, as I have heard it said the game can be a bit dark. ... turn the lights on with 'X' on the xbox controller while in darker areas like forests for example. Helped me alot.

Cheers Simon. You're right about that, I find even the slightly darker stages benefit from headlights. Wish it had VR - it would be so bleak and intimidating in heavy weather.

I have never played sth different then Codemasters games ... and now, this. It seems to be preatty demending (the hell, yeah!)
On PS5 there is a "show wheel" setting where you can remove the steering wheel & driver's arms animations. Makes the in cockpit view much better for me. Plus the 120fps setting is great, but unfortunately no FOV settings that I can find.
Good to know. You can also just use that dashboard view and also remove the hands/wheel although I find it less enjoyable.
I know its 8 months ago, but there is, at least on PC, FOV options (closer to wheel, further, Higher, lower, etc.)
Thanks for the tips. I took the plunge and got this on Steam and hopefully I’ll get a wheel before WRC 11 comes out. I noticed that there’s a headset option to make the sound better while wearing a headset. Forgot what it was called but it’s under Audio options.
Interesting, I've not tested that yet but will do. I usually use a headset these days or drive without anything if recording. The lack of pace notes isn't that bad!
I can't imagine driving down a dirt road going 35 mph and rolling my car.
I do this every single race in wrc 10.
Finding the steering too twitchy?
New subscriber here! Great content. Was wondering if you use a steering wheel setup in all your games? You got me hooked on snowrunner and I've been using my Logitech g923 and love it! But also like using the controller for snowrunner
Cheers for joining the Tribe, Matt. I used to always play racing games on a controller so a lot of the time I still do (almost always for SnowRunner. But the wheels come out sometimes if I want some extra realism! The G923 is solid, enjoy. I should provide do more sim racing stuff again.
Nice tips man - I found WRC10 a bit hard to drive even on 90percent! And I drove Rally games since about 19 years. Can you tell me how could be
such unrealistic times on the scores like ~30 Seconds for a stage like the Monte Carlo or what ever. That´s totally fake times right???

How do you get to WRC lever in career mode? I done like 2 seasons now and fine pretty good but when the next season gonna start the wrc3 and Wrc2 pops up not the wrc cars, what should i do to get the wrc cars?

Thanks for the vid Ben, awesome advise. Over the course of video game development starting with Colin McRae, Gran Turismo on ps1, and so on, I Have learned to race these video game cars in third person view. This way I can see what the car is doing etc. I tried the (I hope I’m spelling it right🤣) bonnet view bu I found myself doing worse.
Anyway, thanks again for a cool vid.
I still use the car view in some games, I just find myself doing better in the front views in rally games. But yeah do what feels right! If you are better seeing all of the car, who am I to cramp your style lol! I loved GT 1 and GT 2, some of my favourite racing games of all time. Hopefully GT 7 goes back to its roots a bit.

Well as someone who does the Senna method of constantly pressing the accelerator, you could do both.
@@ATribeCalledCars Thanks, I kinda figured it out. Cockpit view( without steering wheel), manual and cautious on break and throttle. For some reason the car is easy to turn and I got faster time. I just need to do more practice on the handbrake

If only the controller steering wasnt so absolute garbage. Never played a racing game with a keyboard before but even with the sensitivity all the way down and deadzone up thats exactly what it feels like. This would be the best current rally game but dr2 has it beat on this
curious why would you ever want to "reduce the sensation of speed" ???
You don't if just playing for fun, it's obviously good for excitement etc. But affects that do it can impede driving and also speed can make you panic more.

I seemed to have purchased some watered down version on steam. Pretty disappointed. Missing all kinds of settings for pc.

@@ATribeCalledCars I have no camera settings on the PC version, so FOV just is what it is. Unless of course I'm missing something.
Nevermind found it, can only access camera settings when in a Rally.

From what i know i think the numbers are actually based vaguely on what gear you should use during the corner,but i guess it doesn't really matter as long as you know how tight the corner will be.
No, the gear thing is a misconception. It may sometimes match, but usually not in the cars I've driven.
@@ATribeCalledCars I don't know,i find it matches most of the time but i don't think anyone should base their understanding of pace notes to just the gears because as you said it doesn't match all the time.
Yeah, especially as not all cars would necessarily have five gears. Or some can do hairpins in 2nd. In real pace notes the 1-6 system is used. Dirt Rally actually had 1 to 9, but it was deemed too complicated so they swapped it. Again, nothing to do with gears. But if certain corners match up, then it is useful anyway. Just have to rememember when it happens or what cars are always a gear above or below :)

Used wheels can be okay. Failing that, check the price of the Thrustmaster TMX / T150. These are good too.

@@ATribeCalledCars on 120hz there is no issues, however the graphicss are getting too pixeled. I guess now days you spend £50 - £60 for a game then you have to wait for an update. I will contact Sony for refund tomorrow so we'll see how it goes

just a terrible game with a title I love the most. Real cars DONT behave like in the game. If you have a car and drive on the road you know what I'm talking about.
It's NOT an arcade game cause cars are not easy to control. It's also NOT a racing sim because the only difference between tarmac and asphalt is how bumpy the cam is and the vibration on my controller. Tyres feel different I give them that, but that's it. The driving experience feels more similar to driving a forklift than a car, or more like a boat floating on the road.
It's been shitty just like WRC 7 which is the first WRC game I've ever played, very disappointed. IF anyone wants to try it out, MAKE SURE you are able to refund it.
