I think the reason a lot of enchantments make the list is that they generally change the rules, which gives them higher potential with interactions/building. As you mentioned already, they also tend to be passive effects, so they have limited maintenance. Being hard to remove for a lot of decks is just icing.
And enchantments generally have cooler flavor so they are more memorable/fun.
Best edh channel out there hands down.
This, Commander’s Quarters, and Game Knights are like the Holy Trinity!
@@curtisn.9486 MTGMuddstah tho
AEther snap also has the side effect of making your local Superfriends player hilariously upset.
I would definitely put Tok Tok in my Pashilik mons deck. Underrated commander right there for sure.
Gonna put Ana Sanctuary in Brokkos. Seems good
Everytime I watch these videos, it leads to hours of searching through my collection.
I think Ukkima would make a great blink deck, especially with Ana Sanctuary. Just deal 9 damage a turn with a Conjurers Closet
Note: just read Okinawa, would be funny to put a Lich effect in there. I think that Lich’s Mastery is the best card for a life gain deck
I've always been a fan of Wrecking Ball, which is a Rakdos version of Aftershock but without the life loss. I'll keep an eye on this ones for red decks with no black. I could see some Izzet decks wanting this.
The trouble with Akki Lavarunner is that it's a 4 CMC 1/1 that has to connect to an opponent to work. Even with haste, that's a tall order. I tried running him for quite a while and was never once able to flip him.
I ran Amulet of Unmaking for a while in my Colorless deck, however in recent years it gets beat out by Scour from Existence and (I forget it's name but the colorless manalith that you can sac and pay 7 to kill anything.) Sometimes redundancy is good, but I found that 3 really expensive versions of this effect was a little too many and Amulet was the one to cut.
Ana Sanctuary looks fantastic, I've never seen that one before. On the Sultai list for sure.
My man I've been an Aftershock advocate for years now. Subscribed.
So glad you started with Abduction. I use this in my Bruna, Light of Alabaster deck. Perfect synergy!
Yes Aether Flash is amazing in dinos and another great reason not to run mana dorks.
I kinda wish you could do 15cards per video.
Aligned Hedron network seems like it goes perfectly in the new strixhaven orzov decks that want to out counters on enemy creatures. Add the impetus or what it's called cycle from last years precon and you got s good base for a deck
Demo! Cant wait for the Atogatog Deck (assuming its voted for)
Thanks for having a great channel!
always like your card suggestions, never heard of most of the cards, keep up the good work
You know what does get round Aligned Hedron Network? - Phasing :D
(I wonder what could have made me think of that particular mechanic ;) )
Ah, man. Aether Flash and humility. That's my jam
there is just something to those little enchantments that no-one plays. really love those suggestions.
my favourites are two mana uncommon enchantments with an activated ability lol
I distinctly remember the days of every table having an Atraxa player... Though it wasn't quite as annoying as the one guy who saw me teaching my little brother EDH and offered to help... He then proceeded to whip out his Leovold deck like a child predator and lock the table turn two...
I ran a super jank deck in the late 90s with Aether Flash, Aether Storm, Wrath of God lots of removal, Meekstones, Smoke, and a Xanthic Statue.
Wow! Another one in this series! OMG is it Christmas? Thanks! Great vid again.
All these color-specific (often hating) cards, especially on enchantments, are frequently quite good. The Sanctuary cycle is one that I'm sure WotC should reprint more often. Color specific text means it's narrow but powerful; when it works, it's great. It's a type of design you really don't see today, quite deliberately.
The *problem* with them being mostly enchantments is that so, so few colors can actually remove them. So once they're in play, they're a misery to deal with. That's probably why such card texts are mostly on creatures now, both to accelerate the game and make the effect removable.
The fact that Altar of Bone is a GW sorcery and not a black artifact always cracks me up
Awesome suggestions as usual. I had Aether Flash in my Ramos 5c enchantment deck and what it would enable was Academy Rector or Aura Thief (with Enchanted Evening out) to die as soon as I played them so I could tutor or steal everything. Fun card that people have to answer.
I know a ton of cards but Abduction was one that I hadn't seen and tbh..... I love it. I am an enchanter, probably as mad as Zur, haha.
My zuzoth will love akki lavarunner, thanks for pointing it out! Also, with an effect like warstorm surge where the creature deals damage equal to power on etb, akki lavarunner will flip from that enter trigger. I like :>
Abduction is certainly interesting for my Nevinyrralm Urgorg Tyrant deck. Thanks!
I first saw abduction while looking for cards for my hakim the lore weaver deck also put it in muldrotha love it
I put aether flash in my kresh deck 4 years ago to deal with norn, recent addition to the deck is last laugh
For this effect and function of bringing back your own creature to your control after it dies, there is is "false demise" which is one mana cheaper. But nice tips. Love your channel, man. Wish we could play a match. Take care.
I use Aether Flash in a Torbran deck, buffing the damage it deals and it basically locks out any creatures with 3 toughness or less from the battlefield.
it actually locks out anything 4 toughness or less.
Ether Barrier would be mean with Damping sphere. Like versing an elf ball deck with a gaea's cradle...slows it wayyyy down
I had an opponent use Abduction on my Sliver Overlord and then start taking my other slivers with it.
Aether barrier has a smiley face
Altar of Bone is great in Atla Palani decks. Sac the egg, get a flip, and then tutor. Conch Horn is also great tech I run in that deck that deserves a mention in these lists!
already got it. episode 2.
in the same vein as amulet of unmaking, brittle effigy is nice in decks where getting creatures off board is hard. planning on putting it in my budget callaphe aura voltron for removal when i get round to buying the deck.
Rhystic tutor is my favorite underrated card, it only costs one more then demonic and has some political benefits, a lot of the times i play it everyone is tapped out and you don’t even have to make a deal to get the best card in your deck and other times the player that is ahead is tapped out and i can search for an answer and no one pays
Æther Flash wont atop my Oketra Zombies. Gives me a feeling of safety there
Have Ana sanctuary in Brokkos. It’s really oppressive to have an 11/11 trample commander that doesn’t stay dead.
Aether flash has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.
Two cards that seem really interesting are Angle's trumpet and Five-alarm fire
Really like your Niall Silvain profile picture btw
Man, you're talking about Aether Snap and my Ulasht deck just cries. Completely shut down with 1 card.
Aether flash is ''fun'' in my Mogis Slugchantment deck :P
Id love the kresh deck tech
Let's gooooo, new episode and Guilty gear beta!
Aether snap is really good with Marit lage... OK if u have the land :)
Played Aether Flash in the old days, feels old man q.q
Ahhhhhh. Thankx 💫
Do you have a video on your lord of tresserhorn deck? Im currently building one right now and id love to see what you did for yours.
so i don't have it anymore but i did do a quick rundown in this video if you want some ideas: th-cam.com/video/wKZZQdWefa0/w-d-xo.html
Me: "I like my Witherbloom but it needs to be more versatile." **Looking at Ikoria EDH commanders to replace Willodusk** "Hmm not that much un a-typical stuff..." **Notices the video** "...An Enhantment that gives a Sultai unexpected Commander Damage AND I could keep Willowdusk as a Lt! Yes! Just what I'm looking for!"
Thanks for that! Iwas beginning to think I was nuts to try this!
Aether barrier works well in a token deck
Aether flash + torbran = fun
Would you ever do a wacky commander list?
Does Aether Snap also hit Exp counters?
it does not unfortunately. but suncleanser will work for that.
Oh, here we go again. *pulls out wallet*
anyone think aether barrier is sorta cute
Agree it's literally just :
🌑〰️🌑
These ar great
I always thought Ceta Sanctuary was the best of that cycle!
Have you or can you mention infinite reflection in a video? Its my favorite underrated game warping cards. Turn all my creatures into Grey Merchant then all new nontoken enter as Grey Merchant.
Question, why that artifact over universal solvent? Universal solvent cost 7 if I'm correct vs10
not 10, 5.
@@edhdeckbuilding oh! I usually include the activation cost for the ability in the total cost for the effect. :-) my bad. I guess I should have worded that differently. Like, would universal solvent be better considering the total mana investment for the same effect is around 2 mana cheaper? 8 total colorless vs 10 total colorless?
@@g33kaholic24 Exile is usually more desirable than destroy. Solvent doesn’t get rid of Blightsteel Colossus or a land enchanted with Consecrate Land or similar.
@@johnbuscher oh! See, I thought that universal solvent exiled. That's my bad.
Friday
HOW DID YOU FIND MY SECRET LIST 😂
Z!
I suspected you were Canadian :p
Ana Sanctuary is going straight into my Brokkos infect deck, thank you!
I miss Aether being spelled AEther.
First
Hey,I gotta challenge for you. How about a Deck tech for Extus,Oriq Overlord BUT that focuses on the front side rather than the Awaken the Blood Avatar? Everywhere you look, everyone focuses on the back side
