    Ancestral Knowledge is also good for nuking lands out of your library when you don't need anymore of them and want to increase your odds of drawing gas.

    Ashling's prerogative works ofcourse for obosh decks but also voltron decks and progenitus voltron but also with commanders that have tap abilities in red like obeka or as people have said, krenko. It also works out with group slug or vial smasher esque decks where you want to hinder your opponent's and have no regard for your things getting tapped since you'll mostly be burning them. The other purpose is token decks where you spam goblins or dragons where they are even cmc and would be granted haste to surprise your opponent out of nowhere since it is simply 2 mana. You could even play your opposite cmc cards then this since it is a static effect granting haste instead of giving it to them as they enter such as riot and get rid of as much of the downside as possible.

    I tossed Ancestral Knowledge into my forgotten mechanics fun deck and have been quite surprised with how good it actually is.
    I think it was Gavin Verhy that specifically said they were never going to print another card with Aura Swap because the design space is so small. it's an ability that is either totally buster or garbage depending on the costing, and that anything else of the card other than the Aura Swap effect pretty much doesn't matter.
    Yeah, I was going to say that Ashling's Prerogative would be good in an Obosh deck. That seems like a pretty interesting niche deck. i might have to look into building that.

    Ancestral Knowledge seems really strong in a Rashmi deck. If you can plan well, your next few spells could also come with the spell from the top of your library you want for free. It's also a good thing to drop just to get the top card of your deck while it's your turn.

    Ashling's Prerogative is great in Kaalia; it gives her haste and since you are playing creatures off her effect on swing, they come into play tapped anyway. So it helps keep tempo

  • @christianbergeron2519
    @christianbergeron2519 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but you could attach Arcanum Wings to your commander, after blockers are declared, if it's unblocked (since it is flying) you could Aura swap to Colossification and one-shot someone for 20+ commander damage. That's pretty crazy.

    Its worth mentioning that Artificer's Intuition works well with Goblin Welder. Also you don't have to get a mana rock with it, but rather something utility or maybe a combo piece, say a Shadowspear or a Brittle Effigy. Interesting card, I have never seen it before.

    • @GrimoireM
      @GrimoireM 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arthurbozelli4360 It's straight up a win-con in some decks. Kinnan/Alela/Urza all can use it as part of an eggs engine. Lazav can use this to get Vector Asp, Dreadnaught, Ballista, and Gingerbrute. There's a whole silver-bullet hateful artifacts that it can grab or pitch. Tutoring up Keys is relevant if you use mana rocks that are bigger than Thran Dynamo. And there's the whole Expedition Map/Academy Ruins/Inventor's Fair/Crucible of Worlds thing you can do off of this card too.
      It even combos with Wild Research by searching up Library of Leng.
      It's absolutely worth it to try it out once if you're the kind of person who likes durdle engines.

    Loving these videos. Yeah, my pod feel that there isn't any mechanic/engine in MtG that can't be made 'unfriendly', and one of our group made a staxy Silverquill deck that's all about your cast restricting effects (Rule of Law, Archon of Emeria, etc) along with draw punishing (Seizan, Underworld Dreams, Teferi's Puzzle Box) and it's brutal but it breaks a stalemate when everyone has to rush to win, instead of being able to cautiously play their cards.

    So you mentioned Ancestral Knowledge as a self-mill card for Muldrotha Decks, but it doesn't actually work in practice the way you really want it to work. The cards are exiled from the Ancestral Knowledge, and to get the most out of Muldrotha you definitely would rather have them in the yard. If you want your Muldrotha to be more of a combo-off deck than fine, but there are also just better commanders and cards that do this better, and for what you're looking for. Thrasios is the obvious pick, but for something like Muldrotha, it in a large way goes against it. IMO a better card to add to this list is-
    Burning Rune Demon-
    For a Muldrotha/ANY reanimator deck, this card is absolutely the single best card you can ever put into a Muldrotha deck. The card has a lot of text but in essence it is a 6-CMC, 4BB 6/6 Flying demon that has an ETB to tutor ANY two cards in your deck. you just get them. There is the hoop/hurdle that your opponent decides which of the 2 cards goes to your hand and which goes to the yard, but WHO CARES! you are running Muldrotha, or Sharuum, or any reanimator. And best of all its a permanent/creature! if it dies, or you sack it for some cool shenanigans you can just DO IT AGAIN!!! this card is way better to drop onto a list. Especially since its so new and slept on at tables! AND, icing on the cake, its currently priced at $2-3. THATS INSANE!!!!! Who doesn't want to just pull the best 2 combo pieces out of your deck? And even if it dies, its an etb. Bar a counterspell, which lets be real thats the issue with any card ever so thats not really an issue, you just get the effect. Sleek as all heck, no idea why its so cheap. Should be an auto-include in any deck that runs black imo.

    • @edhdeckbuilding
      @edhdeckbuilding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i didn't mention it as self mill. i mentioned wood sage as self mill. they work in tandem. you set up the top of your library with ancestral knowledge, get the card you want with your draw then mill the ones you want with wood sage or something else.
