Hope you enjoyed it! No mods, I play on PS exclusively. No DLCs completed at this point, on this playthrough. Armour: Milanese cuirass, Milanese gauntlets, Old plate chausses/pauldrons, Short common hauberk. All looted from bandit camps, including the arm braces (Old plate pauldrons). I like armour that looks a bit darker and dull. After this vid I used some of Runt's gear and then later some gear looted from Black Peter.
@turismo_gaming thanks a ton. I did enjoy it. I've recently returned to the game in preparation for KCD2. Bit rusty. I'm on PC, going through a hardcore campaign and looking for ways to play differently and get all trophies. I'm avoiding using top armour and weapons, you so right, the old armour adds some grit and character. Thank you for the reply. Wish you and your Channel all the best.
Thank you. It's a great time to get back in for another playthrough. I picked it up for the first time last year. I'll be playing KCD2 on release but I want to have a solid understanding of everything before making content.
i had watched a youtuber play this game and he struggled so much with the fight but when i did it , i masterstriked once and then a simple slash from above took him out
Thanks a lot for the feedback! 🙂 I try to find topics not already covered on YT. But a bit hard for a 6ish year old game. Fortunately KCD is awesome and fun to cover.
Those 2 perks are good, I wouldn't have thought to use them against an armed opponent though. Runt and Morcock play the villain role well in their acting.
I use clinches to interrupt the flow, particularly in tournament fights (headcracker doesn't work in the tourney though). KCD is a real standout for me in terms of characters, voice acting, cutscenes. Looking forward to KCD2 🙂
@@kyleyates4773 Hey I haven't done this myself since publishing the video earlier this year, but it was on the latest version of the game, so I believe so, yes.
Incredible! I can’t wait to do this, I just started this game 2 weeks ago and haven’t really looked at any guides, so I started picking flowers as I felt really useless and that really was the best I could do lol but now I’m a wealthy potion seller with good gear. I haven’t done much main story yet, I still have to see the fella and tell him about his sword getting stolen. I tried to go back to Skallitz to get it back! Any tips on combat would be great, those bandits in Skallitz are tough as nails!
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you liked the vid, but more importantly that you are enjoying KCD! 🙂 I am planning a video on combat, but some tips.. Train with Bernard to get the basics down, gain some levels in combat skills, and learn masterstrike. Get comfortable using a bow to help reduce numbers from distance when up against a group. Similarly, try to avoid fighting multiple enemies at once. Understand each type of weapon, weapon damage, and when to use each so for example maces do blunt damage which is good against armour. I won't go into all the perks but the two covered in the vid are strongly recommended. You can reset perks with a potion. If you are interested in returning to Skalitz you can search Skalitz farming, there's actually a comment thread here that mentions it, but there's no rush to do that. Lastly with quests, some are timed so it's good to check which, so you don't get sidetracked while completing those. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the comment 🙂 Do you mean Runt is a lot weaker? I agree. I guess unless you grind levels in Skalitz, Runt would usually beat the player easily in the prologue, and then Henry levels up ready for this encounter, which gives you a nice feeling of progression.
Nice! 🙂 You must have been pretty OP early or skilled at combat, or both? I think I've seen a video where his health is depleted and the fight continues as normal until the cutscene 😆
@@johntheknight3062In prologue he is a protected person with a minimum of 1 health, but it goes to break his personal stats, for example he won't be able to run.
You can kill his friends by jumping on carriage and shooting them with bow but Runt is immortal in prologue. Whole story line about sword wouldnt make sense...
The cutscene tries to make this a dramatic fight and in my playthrough I just won a clinch and hit him in the head with a warhammer, activating headcracker straight away
@@joaquimlopes257 Awesome cutscenes but an underwhelming fight. My first playthrough was similar, I had built up Runt in my head to be this epic boss encounter, and then a couple blows to the head with a mace and it was over. It was only later when I thought about looting him that I went in with the aim of getting Head Cracker to activate.
@@turismo_gaming I didnt even think off looting him I killed him straight away, it cuts from henry visciously bashing him with a warhammer to a cutscene of them fighting (with swords that I didnt even have I think)
That's right I believe it's the Merchant's sword, which is a mid tier longsword. Even though the cutscenes don't show our equipped gear, I still quite like them!
I re-did the Rattay fight club activity "Do Me A Favour - Punch Me!" a stack of times, which helped me level several combat skills, but that's just one option 🙂
Heck yeah when you defeat him regularly you can't loot him . That's a good way to make a little extra in-game cash. But if you want before you start that mission baptism of fire you can go to that place almost every 5th in game day in opposition will respond and you can eliminate them and sell their gear and farm it
@@turismo_gaming yeah you can do the same farming with skalets. I have to run beats up Henry take a horse and a good saddle or something stay on your horse defeat the heavy knights and go to the nearest inn can you use the player box to store your goods
I played a hardcore peasant Henry with a bunch of debuffs. Only things I’d levelled were speech, agility from all the jumping, herbalism for leg day and alchemy. Every fight was awful, would end up kiting people into villages and getting the guards to help like a pussy xD
@@turismo_gaming I do like a good theme and to set limitations for myself. @@mrbritish6673 There are so many opportunities for role playing and different ways to do stuff, makes it hard to put down. Especially knowing the sequel is coming soon. I haven't got round to Bannerlord (yet..) been playing DD2 but it hasn't grabbed me yet, I keep just flipping back to KCD 😆
My fight against runt was easy one arrow to the head kills him I took 2 hour from the start of that mission to make it there I just kept dying to the archers
Yeah he can be a bit of a push over after the time and effort to get to him right? 😂 That's interesting I didn't have the same issue with the archers, I usually just shoot them when instructed to. I wonder if it's cuz I sabotage the arrows during Nest of Vipers?
That is genius, thanks!

When in doubt, Punch it out. Never underestimate the power of melee in this game.
Master strike these hands!!
2:05 there's someone punching in the air
I dont want to beat you, I want to embarrass you
My thoughts exactly 😆
Thanks for the vid. What armour are using? I didn't recognize the arm braces? Did you use a mod (it reminds me of what is in band of bastards dlc?).

Nice! It sounds like that TH-camr didn't have a good grasp of the combat mechanics? It can be an underwhelming fight if you have the mechanics down.

You are very welcome. It's an awesome game to play, create content on, and discuss with other gamers 🙂
Henry is a true Chad.
I know right? I'm so glad Henry is the protagonist of KCD2
@@turismo_gaming you didn't fight him drunk though? Henry is never sober in my games. He's a world class alcoholic.
Lol no not yet! So far my drunken escapades are limited to the Father Godwin quest (Mysterious Ways)
I literally left and trained to level 15 in warfare and sword so I can beat the hell out of some bandits cant wait to beat runt
Good plan! You might also want to consider leveling mace if you haven't already, they are effective against enemies wearing armour.

That is how I beat most of my hand to hand fights, I just keep spamming jab till they back into a corner then clinch them to death lol
I really like the clinch mechanic and perks. I wonder what changes (if any) they will make in KCD2.
@@turismo_gaming I hope they add a reticle for the bow or like an option to add have one turned on it the setting menu
Awesome idea! Optional would be great imo to better satisfy long time players and newcomers. Perhaps for HC it's then disabled.
