Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the best medieval games ever made. The scale of the game is large, the world feels populated, and you aren't a God walking among men so much as a peasant whom can fight and die as easily as any other. It is a masterpiece
It is far from a masterpiece if you take into account the amount of glitches and bugs and don't even get me started on how many gamebreaking bugs they are which don't allow you to continue quests and force you to start the quest from the beginning not because you messed up but simply because the game doesn't work. The combat system is awesome. You won't be a god that kills everything. Ever. But sometimes, when you beat up 3 bandits at the same time... The accomplishment is a reward on it's own.
It’s a pretty solid game, but unpolished and a lot of the gameplay elements feel gimmicky or pointless. I liked it, but it definitely wasn’t as good as Oblivion was back in 2006.

@@WalkerRileyMCyou can just train before you leave skatlitz. Just make sure to get some saves so you can knock out a guard, get a sword, and just continuously stab cows. I killed all the guards and just kept knocking out villagers to level up my stealth, which was level 14 once I left skatlitz. So now I can just knock out any guard and get good armor and weapons. And most of my main stats are were over level 10 once I left skatlitz; that’s including bonuses like 2+ vitality (permanently), 1+ speech, agility, and strength because of infamous perk, and another 1+ for all of them because of burgher perk. Of course there’s perks you’re unable to level because you’re only limited to skatlitz, but you can level stuff up other stuff like axe, sword, mace, hands, alcohol (not really enjoyable), stealth, warfare, and herbalism. I would say, it does take a few hours and even days if you want max level in all areas. But once you do it and leave skatlitz, the game becomes way more easier. But I would personally only ever do what I did if you’ve already played the game or you want to level up fast, other than that I feel like you should just experience the game regularly before doing anything crazy or any challenges.
I went jn with a warhammer, he tried to hid me and henry did a spinblockthing and hit him in the head. I couldn't see shit and suddently the fight was over.
@@Hotchpotchsoup You can't kill him in Skalitz. I found a safe spot in top of the burning cart besides the gate to the upper bailey and picked up and killed all bandits except for him and the shovel dude that are immortal in the intro. You can use that to down both of their HP bars to zero (so they become less aggressive) and run to the combat arena and keep beating him with all your weapons until you get full mastery on all three classes if you want. .

I'm happy that you like it. As a Czech myself, I recognize these castles architecture, the countryside, medieval European history etc. It's super realistic and real fun to play. :)
Of course, you generally really can't _wear_ late game armor until, well, late game, without being horribly encumbered. Still, you could at least pick and choose a few good pieces you _could_ wear.
100 hours on it, bought and played through each dlc quest Great game Like 3.5/5 On console, when you start moving around fast on a horse everything will take forever to load.
Evan Delrio to be fair the shield was meant to counter weaponry and allow lesser adept fighters to not be wiped out the second a trained swordsman came into the picture.
bruh this game is so good yeah early in the game your gonna get whooped because henry is just a blacksmith son without any combat experience or anything tbh but late game: *he is a machine*
This game has a perfect leveling system where before you actually know anything you suck then after you start getting higher level and get trained you become super strong
Maybe Henry is a machine in late game, however the cool plate armor I found early didn't help me to get that far. Easy mode for noobs would have been nice for me... xD
Unironically my favorite game, it takes real skill and shows how dangerous and fun sword combat can be, also you gotta remember you've never swung a sword before, you've got basic practice in this game but your really just a blacksmith, the game teaches you that with training you can be great, but your not going to be amazing right out the gate.
Keep making more of these .this my personal favorite medieval game ever made * cough probably because I have sunk thousands of hours into it cough * And don’t forget to use the extremely dangerous technique of the “flank and spank “ the next time you fight an experienced opponent. Glad you liked it, a lot of people have no patience and didn't put in the time to actually learn the mechanics. Glad to see someone else enjoying this game, it just gets better. Also the mission with the Priest is one of my favorites from any game, so funny.
I had a blast with that mission. It was a welcome chance of pace from fighting for my life. Having a bro-sesh with some priest and then having to give his sermon, I loved it.
this game is kind of the same way as dark souls as it rewards you for learning and becoming good at the game rather than your character becoming a god. you wield all the power to make Henry a fighting machine.
@@Fyrosaurus The problem with the combat imo is that the whole system breaks once you unlock the parry (which is literally at the start of the story). It wants to look all fancy with his five directions but the moment you unlock the parry the directions become meaningless, because the combat just ends up parrying the opponent and then striking again (I mean, it is easier to do since you don't need to look for directions and it doesn't take stamina like a normal direction block). Even the special attacks where you would need the directions are useless, because the enmies where they might seem useful always counter before you can attack three times in a row (I don't even want to talk about the fact that it's literally impossible to do a 5 strike attack at anyone after a certain point). The problem is that the whole fighting then becomes too similar imo. Not to mention that the game throws you in against groups too often where you can't even change targets consistently.
A "small trick" I realized after my second playthrough. Disengage (sprint) from the enemy for about 5 meter, then let them rush to you to trigger the green shield. Timing it right and you got Master Strikes almost 100% 👌👀

It's a pretty historically accurate game. But still, the most accurate part is that one dude holding his drink while getting a good look at that arrow getting pulled out of Henry's leg
Absolutely brilliant game... beautifully crafted, fabulous lore and story, probably the most frustrating and rewarding game I have ever played. I remember trying to learn to hunt with a bow, I felt completely inadequate and almost angry; but then something clicks (skills increasing slowly but surely) and when you start to be able to regularly take down rabbits, and even those damned roe deers. Practice, practice and practice, add a generous handful of patience, be prepared for the worst, and in the end you live one of the finest gaming experiences I have ever witnessed.

@@CrizzyEyes I think it's late, but you should use the simplifies locks (from settings) on controller. You just need to find the yellow dot and press LB. Too bad that it becomes too easy 🤣
@@BioTheHuman wish I would've known about that sooner, on the other hand it was extremely rewarding learning how to do the mini game properly and now I can open very hard locks with the standard settings.
People complain so much about the Combat, archery, and lockpicking, which are some of my three favorite things in the game... Edit: I like the one-on-one combat
Those were the high points of the game for me as well. I really came to enjoy the archery especially, it became increasingly satisfying to bring down a deer on the move with one very long shot, when you can barely hit the ground at the beginning lol. And I don't think I broke a lockpick again after I took that perk that buffs it while you're drunk. I think this is one of those games that you either get it or you don't. But if you do, you love it.
@Donald Trump Lockpicking is no problem on console either if you go into the settings and change to simplified lockpicking. It makes it more similar to pc. You just hold L1/LB down to rotate the lock and only have to move the right stick. If the sweet spot isn't near the center where it's easiest, then back out and try again. Even in Teresa's story where her skill is at minimum I didn't break a single pick.
I'm still hoping for a sequel, it really was a fantastic though misunderstood game. There are precious few games where you have to develop skills and understanding rather than just increase numbers to come out victorious and *EARN* that power fantasy. The story was pretty good too and was reaching peak levels of interesting just when the game ended.
Yeah, I hope there'll be a sequel Given that warhorse was founded in 2011, KCD announced in 2015 and released in 2018, I'm sure the sequel development will also be as long but would be worth the wait
I can finally tell people to "git gud." KCD is difficult when you start but you learn as Henry learns. You're not supposed to be a badass from the start.
Yeah. The whole idea is that combat is hard because your character has no idea what he’s doing at the start, and as you figure out the came, he figures out how to fight, and it’s actually quite interesting progression.
@@Scoots_McGee If you count early game the what 2 hours it takes to have Henry learn that counter move Bernard teaches ya sure early game is actually unforgiving combat wise.
Man I love this game, it's hard at first but once you learn the mechanics you become a force to be reckoned with. Add that on top of master strike and you become an unstoppable force
Some people are confused and got used to the usual rpg skyrim like style. There was also a bit of a controversy with some people calling the game alt-right or racist because it doesn't have black people in it (yeah, because 14th century bohemia is such a ethnically diverse setting). Kind of stupid honestly, but on the other hand, the founder of the dev studio gave an interview to on Breitbart, so maybe they've got a point in that regard...
@@darthplagueis13 seriously I wouldn't mind if a game set in medieval Africa didn't have white people in it, so why should a game set in medieval Europe have black people in it? I don't understand these SJW:s

For me, this is the kind of games I enjoy the most. Deep narrative, choices that matter during the game, fantastic and interesting quests. Much better than all those hack and slash games like assasin's creed, where your best skill is pressing the attack button as fast as you can. Seriously, I can't understand why those games sell that many copies. Kingdom come is much more inmersive, interesting and fun for me.

The problem with the combat imo is that the whole system breaks once you unlock the parry (which is literally at the start of the story).
When I did that mission it said you got poisoned and died so I never finished it
