@@xniaxm2967 You're forgetting about Disney's movie A Far Off Place, which came out about the same time. The movie shows good & bad people among the natives & the whites living there. One of the 3 main characters is a native African man who is portrayed as just a typical guy from a tribe near the preserve, who is a friend to the teen character played by Reese Witherspoon. He is shown to be smart & persistent, showing he knows the land & animals & how to survive. He is shown to be loyal to his friend when she is in need, despite it putting him in danger too & it being vastly inconvenient for him when he already has responsibilities to his wife (& presumably the rest of his family & tribe). He shares wisdom about human nature to the teen boy, showing him to be a perceptive & thoughtful person. I think The Lion King takes place during Ancient Greece. After the hyenas ate Scar, his soul was transferred to the Underworld. Then, Hades, lord of the dead, revived Scar and offered him a proposition(just like with Jafar): "Help me kill off Jerk-ules, and I will let you become king of Pride Rock, FOREVER." So Scar returned and confronted the Greek demigod, Hercules. But in the end, Scar dies in the hands of Hercules, and gets turned into a "very handsome throw rug". This seems to make sense because there were not as many humans in Africa during ancient times. Plus, Ancient Native African culture seems to fit the tone of The Lion King(via the music, ample use of Swahili words, and the cave art-like style of Rafiki's paintings). As for Zazu knowing famous human songs like "It's a Small World", and Timon and Pumbaa knowing human traditions like the Hula dance and Christmas, I think Aladdin's Genie visited Africa during his world vacation, and taught some Lion King characters about human stuff; but that's just my guess.

The Lion King isn’t a fucking plagiarism of Kimba. Do your own research and you’ll notice the two stories are nothing alike besides having a lion as a main character, and that the supposed “troubling resemblances” are nothing but scenes taken out of their contexts. Hell, the movie, that they often use to show the presumed plagiarism in those comparison images, was released after the Lion King, meaning that if there’s one plagiarism, it may be more the Kimba movie doing so with the Lion King.
Well, there are a number of plausible theories, but here’s one that I find especially likely: The Lion King takes place in the foreseeable future, where lions are aggressively protected, and lion territory is labeled as government parkland. All intruders are removed almost immediately and the lions live in almost pure isolation. Scar in Hercules? Either Lion King takes place shortly before Hercules, or it was just a classic Easter Egg.
Scar's pelt is in Hercules, so The Lion King is at least contemporary to the Greek empire. In those days the population of Sub-Saharan Africa was fairly sparse and there would have been huge swaths of savanna still untouched by humans. And if any humans were in the area they likely knew to steer clear of areas controlled by large lion prides.
My theory: The Lion King takes place after humans (post-apocalyptic) when humans died in natural biggest deadly pandemic. But, in fact, humans exist in The Lion King, but they only don't appears, therefore, The Lion King is set in the present.
I always assumed that they do not and never did (likely due to our particular genetic divergence in primates not occurring). Basically, animals become more intelligent and they flourish because we do not exist in that realm. It would certainly explain the basics pretty easily, and I like the ideas that brings up. A world without humans, but also with no extreme civilization like Zootopia. Makes me wonder about other countries in that world...
After watching a little bit of The Lion Guard, that's my theory as well (and that The Lion King universe is an AU of ours with extremely different laws for nature, which is why the show makes some of the predators that hunt in the Pride Lands bad guys, but the Lion Guard are treated as exceptions).
It's likely in a part of Africa that is more isolated, and probably in a preserve or park. The time setting would also likely be around or past the 1960s, as ''A Lion Sleeps Tonight' was released in the 1960s and and 'A Little Bunch of Coconuts' was released in the 1950s. Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu (and possibly Scar) would have had to had some occasional brush with humans to hear the music somehow and pick it up ( possibly humans having a a portable radio or record player in their camp.) Odds are Timon and Pumbaa encounter them on a periodic basis being wandering exiles, and Zazu being that he flies all over the Pride Lands. It could be that Scar even came across them (at least when he was younger) on his territorial patrols to know the older Coconuts song. Around this time, there likely wasn't as many humans in the area, and it was likely tribesmen or just the occasional white researchers or hunters passing through. Edit: I forgot about migrating birds in Africa. Some of these might pick up the songs or Hawai'i hulu, since many of these can travel hundreds or thousands of miles.
i thought that the Lion King was set in an alternate universe that had no humans, and the lion guard makes my idea more sense... or the lion king was the precursor to Zootopia
I love your videos! if I've been freaking myself out with conspiracy theories and crap utube videos I come here and it makes me happy again! thank you for being clean and friendly bro!😄
Im gonna claim this was an earlier chapter of history when many regions of the African wilderness were un-touched by mankind. I highly doubt this was set in the 1990s since the whole continent was explored by europeans by the start of the 20th century.
Wait but I noticed at the part where Simba meets pumba and timon, Simba is sat down on a chair or something, and timone does simba's claws using a nail file. Where on earth did he get that Nile file. Unless, he has actually been with humans
I think humans do exist and Lion King takes place extremely far away from civilization. It's also possible that Simba and everyone know about the humans existence of humans and then choose not to interact with them.
@JustinXDragon But their guns are shown. You think the guns are pulling their own trigger? The campfires are building themselves? We see no sign of either of those in The Lion King.
The funny thing is, I never thought of about why there are no humans in "The Lion King", but I like to imagine what might happen, how Simba might have reacted if he and Mufasa saw a human walking around in the Pride Lands. Would the human be an automatic enemy to be feared and hated, or would he/she arouse simple curiosity? But I think your comments that excluding humans makes TLK more timeless, basically, makes a lot of sense. The lives of humans in the developed world has changed a lot since 1994.
Although the theory of LK taking place during ancient Greece's time because of the Scar rug in Hercules, I personally like to believe it takes place in 1994, the year it came out, and that the Scar rug was just a joke. As for the humans, they could just be located far off away. The filmmakers visited Kenya for research so I think the nearest they could go to find humans is in Nairobi, Kenya. Or it takes place somewhere in Tanzania
Hey, Isaac. Your videos just keep getting better and better. I have actually wondered myself why there were no humans in The Lion King. However, I originally thought that it was because the lions in The Lion King displayed anthropomorphic human characteristics. You know, that they in some ways behaved like humans. But your theory in this video sounds a bit more understandable and likely, and it also makes things seem less complicated so that the audience could just focus on and enjoy the events of the film. Also, I think one of your next videos should be a full story on Quasimodo, but it's just a suggestion.
Sorry for the late reply I love when you talk about The Lion King/Guard and what i think about about Humans in this franchise I think it's best to don't have Humans because people are sometimes (always) cruel to Wild nature
Humans were not the main focus of the movie, so humans weren’t needed. For an in-universe answer, Lion King takes place in an alternate universe than the normal Disney universe as said in an interview with the director. And as for the TV shows that mention humans, they are likely to be non-canon but included the characters for educational purposes. There’s a Finding Nemo short with Jean-Michel Cousteau in it, but no-one would argue that he’s a vital part of the finding nemo universe.

On the 2nd Aladdin DVD, there's a game where you have to rescue Jasmine, and Timon is transported to Agrabah. Even stranger, he and Aladdin can understand each other when speaking.
The humans made the pride lands and or Simba's land pride rock a national park reserve that's illegal to hunt in and or live at in order to protect the indared lion's that live there so that they don't go extinct.. That's why we don't see any humans in the lion king.
From what I read up about this the Lion King is set in an area of Africa in a timeline in the past before human beings discovered that area. I forgot what area it was but apparently there was a hidden safari area in Africa that humans didn’t even knew existed a long time ago.

Maybe it was tens of thousands of years ago when humans were still nomadic tribes, and didn’t as yet have a real great impact on the land
Timon and pumbaa have been to the human world in their televised adventures.
"No animals walking on hind legs."
Timon: "I'm about to hakuna this man's entire matata."
Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu (and possibly Scar) would have had to had some occasional brush with humans to hear the music somehow and pick it up ( possibly humans having a a portable radio or record player in their camp.)
Odds are Timon and Pumbaa encounter them on a periodic basis being wandering exiles, and Zazu being that he flies all over the Pride Lands.
Very insightful video you made Isaac. 🦁
Can you please do a video on “The Suit Life of Zack and Cody”? What are your thoughts on Zach always telling Bob, “It’s not a date”?
i thought that the Lion King was set in an alternate universe that had no humans, and the lion guard makes my idea more sense... or the lion king was the precursor to Zootopia
I've just been wondering that!!
Thank you for this theory, this makes me love The Lion King even more
Ducktales theory :What if webby is a clone of della duck that explains why they are very similar
Well Webby is a clone
Humans would have only ruined the film by doing something stupid such as trying to sport hunt the members of the Pride Land just for fun.
Great video and yes I believe you are right about it being an animal sanctuary.
Rob minkoff (the director) stated in an interview that he likes to think that the movie took place before mankind
Nobody:
Wotso Videos: WHY IS SIMBA'S MANE RED????
The most logical answer:
The animators cannot figured out the right art style for the humans that fits the Lion King art style
In Timon & Pumbaa Show there was Humans 2.
I love your videos! if I've been freaking myself out with conspiracy theories and crap utube videos I come here and it makes me happy again! thank you for being clean and friendly bro!😄
Their are humans in the lion king. They are just behind the scenes..........
Maybe the pride lands is in a nation park or somewhere where humans are not aloud to build on the land since they know about humans but don't see them
Im gonna claim this was an earlier chapter of history when many regions of the African wilderness were un-touched by mankind. I highly doubt this was set in the 1990s since the whole continent was explored by europeans by the start of the 20th century.
I loved how you brought in the fact that it was the creators decision so leave them out along with other reasons.
Wait but I noticed at the part where Simba meets pumba and timon, Simba is sat down on a chair or something, and timone does simba's claws using a nail file. Where on earth did he get that Nile file. Unless, he has actually been with humans
10 minutes of Isaac explaining why there aren't any humans in The Lion King with "There just aren't."
I think humans do exist and Lion King takes place extremely far away from civilization. It's also possible that Simba and everyone know about the humans existence of humans and then choose not to interact with them.
I always wondered about that question and you just answered it
because it’s about LIONS.
why do people even ask these questions?
Mickey 7107 Bambi is a movie about deer and there is humans too, genius
@JustinXDragon But their guns are shown. You think the guns are pulling their own trigger? The campfires are building themselves? We see no sign of either of those in The Lion King.
Why are there no humans in lion king
Why are there no humans in zootopia
It’s called a hustle sweetheart.....
lol you missed the human reference of dressing in drag and doing the hula ;D
The funny thing is, I never thought of about why there are no humans in "The Lion King", but I like to imagine what might happen, how Simba might have reacted if he and Mufasa saw a human walking around in the Pride Lands. Would the human be an automatic enemy to be feared and hated, or would he/she arouse simple curiosity? But I think your comments that excluding humans makes TLK more timeless, basically, makes a lot of sense. The lives of humans in the developed world has changed a lot since 1994.
Can't wait for the upcoming live-action movie. With Jon Favreau directing, I know it will be a success.
Khalid Henry Yeah, the “live-action”.
Khalid Henry lets just say it was a success in the box office but as a movie it sucks and is just a cash grab from disney
Maybe it takes place during the time of great empires Rome Greece when humans stayed close to the shore.pluss you have scars cameo in Hercules
I think the Lion King took place when humans didn't exist yet or when humans became extinct for a huge pandamic
Could the Pride Lands be a Wildlife Reservation?
I love these theory videos and stuff about my childhood movies that I love I subbed and turned on notifications I like these videos so mich
1. It would ruin the movie and the pacing
2. Safari reserve
It's like saying where are the lions in high school musical. They don't need to be there 😜
Nathan Tisdale exactly!!
I've always thought of the Lion King taking place before humans became a dominant species.
If i animated the lion king id just quit when they say where are the humans
Timon makes references to real estate, throw pillows, potpourri, etc. in the future films. Does that count
I TOTALLY agree with you on this theory, Issac, this pretty much EXPLAINS alot!!!
Sorry for the late reply I love when you talk about The Lion King/Guard and what i think about about Humans in this franchise I think it's best to don't have Humans because people are sometimes (always) cruel to Wild nature
Hello I'm new to this channel
Hi! This channel is great! You'll love it. My cousin has a friend named Adrian too lol.
It's The Lion King, that's why. It's not The Human King!

6:11 THATS TERRIFYING
On the 2nd Aladdin DVD, there's a game where you have to rescue Jasmine, and Timon is transported to Agrabah. Even stranger, he and Aladdin can understand each other when speaking.
Because back in ancient times, much of Africa was unexplored and unclaimed.
You gotta admit Zazu singing "It's A Small World" was pretty meta
The humans made the pride lands and or Simba's land pride rock a national park reserve that's illegal to hunt in and or live at in order to protect the indared lion's that live there so that they don't go extinct.. That's why we don't see any humans in the lion king.
From what I read up about this the Lion King is set in an area of Africa in a timeline in the past before human beings discovered that area. I forgot what area it was but apparently there was a hidden safari area in Africa that humans didn’t even knew existed a long time ago.
