Scar only 'adopted' kovu because his legitimate son nuka was disappointing. He was scrawny and somewhat weak, like his father, so scar outsourced. If he'd had simba, he wouldn't have felt the need to pick a better heir.
14:16 Mufasa: "The hyenas never told you what happened to your father." Simba: "They told me enough! They told me you banished him!" Mufasa: "No... *_I_* am your father." Simba: "No... that's not true... that's impossible!" Mufasa: "Search your feelings, you KNOW it to be true!"
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. If Disney went with this idea instead it might have still worked and also could have still remained a top tier animated film
I'd love to see this made into a movie. Even if it didn't make it to the big screen, they could still put it on yt. Disney probably wouldn't take this approach. They sorta did in the sequel, but I love this idea.
I think a more interesting idea in my opinion would be to let the movie play out as usual up to Mufasas death. But instead of telling Simba to ''run away and never come back'', he from that moment on starts grooming Simba into his heir. Whispering things like ''Mufasa is gone, he left you but I am here'' and stuff like that. Keeping him away from his mother for years.
That would be totally cool. He would feed Simba's guilt about his dad and eventually manipulate him into giving up the throne in favor of scar because he isn't "worthy"
Scar totally could’ve killed him, raised Simba to be a puppet king, and then slowly becoming more and more emotionally attached to him and having to deal with the guilt that consumes him. Scar redemption arc but it ends with him sacrificing himself to save the pride from a calamity he created
Honestly, this should have been the plot to the live action remake. Like an alternate universe similar to how they did Maleficent. It would actually make sense to exist.
I really think they should have gone by that route. The problem I always had with THE LION KING is that it starts out pretty light-hearted and then turns serious and never really looks back, except for those brief "Hakuna Matata" scenes. By contrast, I loved THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME because it started out dark, remained mostly dark throughout, and then became REALLY dark before concluding with a realistic happy ending. I've always thought that it's better to have a sad beginning than a sad ending. Even SNOW WHITE and CINDERELLA get this right by having the girl's parents die at the beginning. But THE LION KING had Scar being more funny than evil at first, then some comedy with Zazu, then murder and guilt-ridden exile, and then Pumbaa's farting! Very off-putting.
it will be like what happen in chirin's bell were Chirin the lamb was raised by woe the wolf after the wolf kills chirin's mother. at first Chirin want to kill his mother killer but he's unable to do it cause at that time Chirin was nothing but an weak little lamb while woe was an unnaturally powerful but aging black wolf. so in desperation he decide to become woe' s student so that he can become strong like him. eventually his hatred for woe turns into an deep respect and love for him. viewing his mother's killer as his friend, mentor and paternal figure so much so that after he killed woe he mourns his death and woe thanks him for murdering him cause he's already an old wolf and he knew that someday he's gonna die in an miserable way by old age or from illness. woe prefer to die from a fight with someone stronger than him.
@@armandocastaneda5310 Maybe not, but if you want to twist the truth a bit he wasn't lying. Technically, it WAS the hyenas' idea. It was Banzai who first said "What are we supposed to do - kill Mufasa?" And they almost certainly wanted to do that from the beginning, too.
As much as I LOVE this version, I feel like the ending would have been better if Simba and Kion decided not to make the same mistake as their 'fathers' (quote quote) and decided to rule together as two kings. I know that sounds strange, but it would defeat 'first born, second born' rivalries and set down a new standard. The Lion King(s) lol.
But that's against rules animal can't do that it will be like a storm trooper fighting another troopers for leadership it's not there job sigh you don't watch animal planet do you
Actually this is pretty well structured, makes sense and it’s a narrative that flows good. Actually this is more deserved to see than the live action movie.
Might I just say I love how you guys re-contextualized the quotes “everything you’ve ever told me was a lie“ and “no scar I’m not like you.” It’s funny how changing one element of the story can completely alter the meaning of a sentence.
I did watch the film theory vid, but he didn't say anything that I didn't already know about lions. Except that groups of male lions are called coalitions. I already knew that lion brothers often stay in a group once they're booted out of the pride to look for other territory, I just didn't know they were called coalitions. (Though, lions don't really grasp the concept of incest being bad, the dominant male just kicks them out before they can challenge and supplant him Greek mythology style. Avoiding incest is just a fortunate coincidence. Most of the time.)
So...what if Scar did Zira’s scheme first? I think if Scar killed Mufasa and then raised Simba as his own, he’d be in a better position. Sure, he’d only be acting king for a few years, but he’d probably be able to have his own cubs and ensure some kind of true legacy down the road should Simba’s line fall.
I like almost everything. I do think spirit Mufasa has less impact when his death was so recent but that’s my only big complaint. I’d have given those lines to mufasa before death.
Simba: YOU KILLED MY MOTHER Mufasa: NO, I AM YOUR FATHER and SHE WASN'T YOUR MOTHER. Simba : No. No! That’s not true! That’s impossible! Mufasa Search your feelings; you know it to be true! SIMBA: NOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOO!!!
In this version I feel bad for Simba, I feel like he was cheated out of a life he could have had, only to be replaced by his brother basically got what Simba's life was supposed to be. But this definitely adds more to his character and shows in his general demeanour and reaction to things. Hopefully he will start a pride of his own one day.
@@malrobtel7439 haha so true, weird thing is simbas pride was my fave thing to watch as a kid, even know continuality wise it did seem like a what if the hyienas were lions instead kind of story
We need the Disney live action movies to have a much more different story. Something no one has heard before. And this fits 100% all the way. You should be the lead story writer at Disney.
To be fair, if we were trying to tell different stories for these classics, they would either A. Mess it up or B. People would be upset of that fact I can come up with a few ideas Alice in wonderland and maleficent are what they are For Cinderella, Jungle book, and Pete’s dragon, I would keep them the same cause they change enough, but keep enough. Especially Pete’s dragon. For beauty and the beast, I would just not make it. If I was forced to, I would mix in the play and the disney film 40%/60% Dumbo I would keep the same plot since I’m the only human alive that actually likes the film For Aladdin, i would pull a maleficent on the classic tale and have it focus on Jafar. And if you think that’s a dumb idea, Disney is making a cruella de veil film with Emma stone as the villain, so get people warmed up to this type of story. For the lion king, I would rather have the story told from Nala’s point of view. Because they never really talked about that angle in the original.
samar Khalifa The new lion king is ok, but I feel like since I already watched the original Lion King.... I didn’t really enjoy it. Plus, a lot was taken out that I didn’t really like 😕
@@ignistheultimate5682 nope. Hes saying this video would be about what we know as the true plot right now lol, if the movie was actually about scar raising simba
I really like this! The tone remains more consistent than in the "real" movie, which corrects what I've always thought was a major flaw. But Simba still deserves to be king. So I imagine this being a two-part film that goes in a MUCH darker direction, with Simba growing to resent Kion just as Scar had resented Mufasa. Kion, meanwhile, does not feel he deserves to be king, and he lacks the will to object as Simba begins to turn his young nephew against Kion, just as Scar had done to him. As time passes and the nephew becomes fully grown, Simba begins to realize that he has, in fact, become just like Scar - except that in this case his anger is somewhat justified, because he really IS the rightful king. History has repeated itself, but this time things are going back to the way they should have been, rather than radically changing. This confuses Simba to the point where he finally decides that both Kion AND his nephew are his enemies! So now Kion is guilt-ridden and conniving as he struggles to maintain his (unearned) position, Simba is full of bitter rage at being cheated out of his destiny, and the nephew hates his own father. We have THREE antiheroes all opposing each other! The question then remains which of these three will become a full-blown villain...and events come full-circle as it's the nephew who becomes villainous, killing Kion and forcing Simba to mount an attempt to overthrow his nephew. But on the night before the battle, Simba receives a vision in which Scar's hellish, demonic ghost appears to him and taunts him, revealing that his revenge is complete as he has succeeded in splitting apart the kingdom that was denied to him by his nephew's birth. Simba is now determined NOT to let his uncle have the last laugh, and he makes peace with his nephew, admitting to him that he deserves to be king more than Simba himself does, because he had been manipulated into bearing the sins of the two generations that had come before him. Now it's the nephew who's confused, and he tells Simba that the two still must battle as a sort of ordeal, with their fate left in the hands of the Gods of the Pride Lands, who will decide by divine intervention which of the two of them bears the lesser guilt for everything that has happened. Just then, though, Mufasa appears to the pair as a ghost and reveals that, upon his death, HE became one of those gods! He forgives both his son and his great-nephew for what they have done and urges them to join forces in driving the hyenas out of the Pride Lands. Once this has been done, however, the nephew turns villainous again as he concludes that Simba was right: he DOES deserve to be king more than Simba! The two battle, and Simba ultimately kills his nephew. Now the rightful king is on his throne at last - but he feels terrible about everything he has been forced to do, and vows never to have any children, declaring that he doesn't want any future generations to have to bear responsibility for his mistakes. But then Mufasa appears to Simba again, reminding him that the "circle of life" has cycled around to where it was at the beginning, and now Simba must forgive himself and make a fresh start, doing everything he should have done from the beginning. Simba listens to his father and reluctantly embraces his status as the true king, bearing a son of his own so that the two-part movie ends just as it had began. A very satisfactory conclusion - and, in a way, a happier one that what we really got.
That's what I thought should happen! TBH, the vid does have an interesting spin off but can Simba really shakes off years of conditioning by Scar that easily. And besides, this would be much darker and realistic.
I have a slight change to make. Simba met a lioness and had a son with her. The other lionesses shun her and either accidentally or purposefully cause her death. Simba grows to resent all of the lions of pride rock including Kion, and treats his son the way Scar treated him. The rest can be the same, I just like this way better lol.
The version kinda reminds me of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It's dark, the villain raises the main character, he doesn't get the girl, or lioness. Get it?
Kion: Will I ever lose you like you lost Simba? Mufasa: Look at the stars. The great kings from the past look down on us from those stars. Kion: Okay, sure. But you still didn't answe my question. Mufasa: You stupid child, I knew I should have named you Zazu Jr.
Not the first what if scenario I've seen about this topic on here, but I like the combination of various ideas from the original, the sequel and lion guard show. Simba is like Kovu but being the long lost brother reminds me of various fan stories of "Kopa"....Doug's Scar impression had me rolling by the way! XD
@@firetiger_9675 But Scar chose Kovu to be his heir... He's also not Scar's biological son because Nuka dropped the line 'Scar's not even his father.' So maybe, Scar chose a newborn cub a few months older than Kiara to be his heir before he was killed.
I... really like this. Simba at his core is the same, a good hearted and prideful lion but because of his experiences he eventually became a rogue lion. A good king with no kingdom to rule. I like that.
Mufasa: Scar never told you what happened to your father. Simba: What do you mean? Scar is my father! Mufasa: No, I'm your father. Simba: No, that's not true, that's impossible! Mufasa: Search your feelings, remember who you are. Simba: NOOOOOO! NOOOOOO!

I absolutely love your avatar, Galaxystar. I used to be a huge Balto fan, and it kinda lead me into the furry fandom, which I’ve been apart of for 9 years now.
Michael Bandada i agree a manipulative villain like uncle would also make the child (simba) hate his own father (mufasa) or force the cub to kill his own father. This could have been a better plot. And simba would still end up as king
What we got: this video What we expected: Sarabi: oh Scar you came to see your your brothers son Scar knocks Sarabi out with a club Scar: Edd! Get the hair dye!
This is Star Wars all over again, Simba being evil Anakin Skywalker, Scar being Palpatine, The pride being the Jedi, the Hyenas being the clones. 😂 I love this!
I like this version, because the new events put in place actually help scenes like Simba seeing his dad the clouds, and Simba's line to Scar "everything you ever told me was a lie!" both scenes have more weight now and pack a bigger punch than in the original; I think it would actually be pretty cool if a version like this got made, instead of the rehashed CGI animated movie that we got in the theaters.
You know Disney has been publishing stories like these called "Twisted Tales" where all these stories have a twist; and this would a full story that I would like to read.
I really enjoyed your version of The Lion King. It was original and we got to see more of my personal favourite character, Scar. I really feel like somebody should make this an actual movie (as an alternate ending, of course). I feel like it would make a lot of money.
“Simba finds out the truth: that he IS Mufasa’s son and everything Scar has told himself a lie.” Me: *starts singing the chorus of gasoline* Edit: Wow I didn’t expect to get this many likes in 3 weeks
This story should be a book!!! It gives respect to the original story but giving it a huge twist and new take. As a writer I’m honestly a bit jealous but truly amazed by this. I really hope it can become a story everyone can read
Very interesting story. One improovment still: Simba actually kills Mufasa: Scar Manipulates them into a figth in wich Simba things, he needs to fight for his live. We see in the fight, that Mufasa still ist the better fighter, but because he does not want to hurt Simba has an edge. Perhaps Scar and Mufasa Fight, and Simba trys to defend Scar (as good son wood). Perhaps we can even fit in the following dialog: Mufasa: Why do you fight me Simba. Simba: You tried to kill my Father. Mufasa (while falling into his death): No Simba, I am your Father. When goast Mufasa speaks to Simba, Simba at first things, that he haunts him because of the murder, but instead Mufasa forgives him.
@@Nate-xy5il People can dislike Lion Guard as much as they like, it had some good themes/moments over all. Scar's time on the show was definitely one of the highlights.
Easy. First I change Maurice to Anne or Annette an not that old woman who raised Beau, he's not his actual son but his nephew, why because Annette is like in her 30s, she is a crazy inventor just like Maurice but is not taken very seriously and Beau is slowly following her into it, helping her building a tiny machine she will present to a fest a few towns aways. Gaston is kind of the same except he is now a much more mature men with a long list of acomplishment in different war and now fianlly wanting to settle down and have a son strong enough to follow his legacy and he wants to marry Annette because he sees her as the perceft mother since she raised Beau, who was not even his son. After it no changes until the deal with the Beast ,Aleanor, she basically force Beau to stay in the castle to help repairing the old parts of it, understanding he might be the solution to her problem but being unable to trust him she prefers to stay away. She as cold as the Beast but does not try to seduce him as she is not confident enough to do it and do terrible mistakes while trying like in the original movie? Instead of a library he finds a workshop with almost everything he dreamt to have with Annette to create their invention. Then the movie follow kind of the same pattern. The only difference is what makes Beau flee. He is in love with Aleanor but need to stop the forced marriage of Annette with Gaston because he knows his aunt would never marry a guy like him. When he arrives he tells the story and the village who was here to celebrate the wedding decide to raid the castle to kill the Beast after Gaston screams the idea. Here the final battle is between Gaston and the Beast at first but the old man Gaston is as not just a good strenght but also know to trick his adversary and is able to beat the Beast with a few mean strikes, meant to hurt, when he is about to finally show her Beau but himself in front of her and receive the shot ... we don't know where the bullet landed but Beau is on the ground and the Beast go to check on him he say it is evident now that he loves her and kiss her. Aleanor then changes back to her human form who is a stunning twenty years old woman. Gaston looking at the woman tries to seduce her before she land a fist on his face, making him fall of the stairs and broke his arm very badly (yeah he is not dead but unable to use his strenght). The movie end with the wedding between Beau and Aleanor, while Annette with Lumière and Big-Ben are moving furnitures around the castle
Every time I heard the lions roar, it always gave me chills. It just sounds so powerful and majestic. When I was younger, every time I watched The Lion King, in the scenes where they roar, I always tried to roar with them but obviously and sadly, I never could. But I just find it funny how it's not even lion's roars that they used in the movies, it's either a tiger's roar or some guy yelling and screaming into a metal trash can, ugh, doesn't seem so powerful and majestic now. But I still love it when they roar and it will always give me chills hearing it. The Lion King was such a well done movie, I don't know why they felt the need to remake it. Like some guy said in the comments section of another video, yeah, now we get to see Mufasa's death in higher definition and in "live action". That just bothered me because he was right. But yeah, anyway, great job on the video. Like I said, it was pretty neat to hear a waaaaay different side to this iconic movie. So, thank you for making and sharing this.
"No!" He exclaimed loudly, in his squeaky little cub voice, as his father floated down into the stampede. Vs "NOOOOO!!" He shouted in horror, helplessly watching his father plummet back down into the stampede

I'd love to see this made into a movie. Even if it didn't make it to the big screen, they could still put it on yt. Disney probably wouldn't take this approach. They sorta did in the sequel, but I love this idea.
Darwin Rehart That’s what I was thinking. Like every season is about one movie and different what if’s
Jonathan Rowan I know right
I think a more interesting idea in my opinion would be to let the movie play out as usual up to Mufasas death.
But instead of telling Simba to ''run away and never come back'', he from that moment on starts grooming Simba into his heir.
Whispering things like ''Mufasa is gone, he left you but I am here'' and stuff like that. Keeping him away from his mother for years.
I agree. It definitely would have been cool if the movie had actually gone this way.
Kinda like Arcane
That would be totally cool. He would feed Simba's guilt about his dad and eventually manipulate him into giving up the throne in favor of scar because he isn't "worthy"

Fun fact: Scar raising Simba was an early idea for the movie.
I love Scar, I even have a plush of him, he died a tragic death :'(
@@armandocastaneda5310 Maybe not, but if you want to twist the truth a bit he wasn't lying. Technically, it WAS the hyenas' idea. It was Banzai who first said "What are we supposed to do - kill Mufasa?" And they almost certainly wanted to do that from the beginning, too.

The theatre janitors would have to clean up about 5 thousand pounds of little kid shit.
The end.

I do think spirit Mufasa has less impact when his death was so recent but that’s my only big complaint. I’d have given those lines to mufasa before death.

To be fair, if we were trying to tell different stories for these classics, they would either A. Mess it up or B. People would be upset of that fact
I can come up with a few ideas
Alice in wonderland and maleficent are what they are
For Cinderella, Jungle book, and Pete’s dragon, I would keep them the same cause they change enough, but keep enough. Especially Pete’s dragon.
For beauty and the beast, I would just not make it. If I was forced to, I would mix in the play and the disney film 40%/60%
Dumbo I would keep the same plot since I’m the only human alive that actually likes the film
For Aladdin, i would pull a maleficent on the classic tale and have it focus on Jafar. And if you think that’s a dumb idea, Disney is making a cruella de veil film with Emma stone as the villain, so get people warmed up to this type of story.
For the lion king, I would rather have the story told from Nala’s point of view. Because they never really talked about that angle in the original.
Funny Happy Studios perfect way for Disney to give us the part 3........they owe us

Oooooo thats a good one!
Tf do you mean with Kion? Kion is Simba's SON

My only problem would be finding a way for her to switch between human and beast form.
A curse with benefits.

@@benthekingofking not bad I like it!
Why isn't this a movie?! I loved the idea
I did a What If story on this but a different twist.
"What if Simba died in the stampede instead of Mufasa?"
Who wishes that they told THIS story for the remake instead of rehashing?
Like-Yes
Comment-No!Are You Crazy?!MyChildhood!
Wow! No one commente-Oh shit!
Yes thats a good plan that would be cool
I would love this to be a remake.. but right now we need a remake of the og story!!
No one. It would cause a lot of controversy... people were already upset that they were remaking it in the first place.
Eh both mostly.
"Some guy yelling into a metal trash can"
Can i be the the yelling in to a metal trash can? I think it would sound like metal scraping a chalk board😃
I always roared along with them, too! I actually did it out of nowhere later as well. So I have a ton of my childhood pictures just roaring lol
I saw the new Lion King. The scene where Scar kills Mufasa was not nearly as intense as the animated film.
This just goes to show Disney should have never remade this masterpiece.
"No!" He exclaimed loudly, in his squeaky little cub voice, as his father floated down into the stampede. Vs "NOOOOO!!" He shouted in horror, helplessly watching his father plummet back down into the stampede
Yeah he more like smacked mufasa
It definitely was more clipped than I would have liked
Master Ikem it’s meant to be realistic so they can’t really show that much emotion on their faces
I find it sad that muffasa didn’t live long enough to see his child grow up 😔
Mufasa: *SIMBA, I AM YOUR FATHER!*
Star wars ._.
TotallyTV
cough cough *scarwars* cough cough
@@seadubs8168 HA, see what you did there
Simba "NOOOOOOOO!"
Considering James Earl Jones portrays both Mufasa and Darth Vader that would have been absolutely insane....
You know this is question I never asked myself until now.
Where were you when they were writing the remake?
this is an interesting take on the Lion King that should’ve been done in the remake instead of a beat for beat shot for shot copy of the original
