    Emotions are not here to hurt you.

    They're trying to show you something.

      @@elsagrace3893 Relax, first off there is a good chance this person isn’t some sort of therapist so they can’t walk around giving professional help, second they are speaking out an opinion/tips in hope it that it might help those who are reading it, and by “poor people” do you mean financially because those who are wealthy also have severe emotional problems but if you just used it to describe “helpless people” then okay, and you have to understand that sometimes this is the best we can do, I don’t have some sort of degree so I can’t walk around giving people solutions for there mental health and maybe I or this person doesn’t want to do something in that field, all they did was analyze this video and commented on a comment section hoping this will help someone (and it helped me so thank you, it’s a simple way to understand our emotions) anyway it’s not like this comment was meant for a specific person/people, it’s for everyone who reads it okay😶but I love how your profile pic matches your attitude in this comment🥲and if “You” want to help, then don’t right such comments this way, you don’t know this person, saying something like that can be “Emotionally” triggering, you basically said that they are not helping, anyway enjoy your morning/afternoon/evening or Good night👋

      Not sure what validation you got out of that besides feeling good about forsaking your responsibility to know what goes on inside yourself. That is your job! All emotions do have a reason and if you are taking responsibility for yourself you will have the curiosity to know what the reason is. Right now it looks to me like you are choosing not to do this.

    The heart isn’t ruled by logic and reason. It can be futile to apply such things to the matters of the heart. But what we feel and how we act are two different things. We can and must feel our emotions. But, we can control how they influence our actions. Emotional mastery is such an underrated skill to develop. It can take a lifetime but can save you a lifetime of regretful moments.

      #3 Emotions don’t need a reason and #6 All emotions serve a purpose contradict each other. Any rational sane person wants to know the reason for their emotion and what purpose it serves. BTW the purpose of emotions which was never clearly stated in their vid is to signal needs. Both met needs which we experience as pleasant emotions and unmet needs which we experience as uncomfortable emotions.

    Loneliness, melancholy, sadness, anger, fury, envy, fear and anxiety aren't negative emotions. Hard to believe that, since I've been taught that they aren't good things and before the age of nine I never knew what anger, loneliness, sadness, fear, and envy were, I also didn't know that they existed, now five years later they are basically the only emotions I have and I would say they do more negative stuff than positive stuff. Wonder if that's the reason why they are part of the "bad emotions" list. Well, you learn something new everyday, thanks mates, this is something I never knew before and it's very interesting.

    I can feel emotions very deeply but have to suppress it during the day. When I can be alone mostly at night, I will let myself feel the emotions that I held back, laugh, cry, breathe, shake, do whatever I need until the ball of emotions pass, before I sleep. Try not to leave emotions for that day to the next day, one day you'll explode. I tried that before I found out what's best for me.

    I felt lost before watching the video, asked myself "Why do I feel lost all of a sudden... why do I feel so hollow inside?".
    While the video played (1:40) I started crying, not much but enough that tears run down.
    And at the end (5:18) made me smile and a little happy.
    Maybe I should stop trying to read into my emotions, maybe I should just let me feel what I feel and go on with my day. I will try to control what I do while being in certain emotions but try to not "bottle" or cover them up.
    I do feel like a burden has lifted after writing this, I wonder why.

    How are there no bad emotions if there are emotions that people around you can't and won't accept? I find it hard to believe all emotions are valid if some are treated as unwelcome and intolerable

    • @eloquentornot
      @eloquentornot 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that's the point. Some people don't understand the difference between feeling something (like anger or envy) and doing bad things because of that feeling, so they blame the emotion itself. The difference is that you can't control or decide what you feel, but you can decide how to act. Feeling is not a moral choice, so emotions by themselves cannot be good or bad, and it's a shame that many people don't realise this.

    • @squidleystudios277
      @squidleystudios277 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eloquentornot I can understand that, but I'm talking about situations where you're just telling someone how you feel without doing anything wrong and you just get pushed away or rejected for it

    • @eloquentornot
      @eloquentornot 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@squidleystudios277 I just meant that it's a shame that people in general see some emotions as "negative" in that way. All emotions are valid, and if someone pushes you away just for trying to talk about how you feel, that's their fault, not yours, and it does not make those emotions wrong.

    The last one about contagiousness hurt a bit because it's true.
    While struggling with depression, even in "light" passages, you can hardly lift up your closed ones or have a positive impact. You're just making them sad.
    And it hurts your loved ones and you a lot. Because you feel like shit so much, for so long.
    I hate making my friends or family sad, I hate seeing I make them depressed or unmotivated and I feel I huge need to isolate.
    Despite the fact they want to be there for me or that it helps me so much to have encouragements, I can't reach for them.
    I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who doesn't know how to balance the need to see our loved ones and the fact that our lack of well-being can affect them deeply.
