    A trippy thing about these OLED and QD oleds is that it actually enables beyond human tracking. In real life if you spin around 180, your vision experiences motion blur and the stuff that you pan past in your field of view is not clear, but in games with these monitors, you see everything.

      I don't think the HDR is quite as good, but don't quote me on that. The new monitor is even better calibrated from what I've heard too. Eventually I'll want to get a calibration tool so that wouldn't matter, but nice to have calibration from the factory.

    I returned mine it had a dark vertical line that developed on the left side of the panel after a couple of days use. Its an amazing gaming display but not so much for productivity the colour fringing on text makes it a big step down from an normal IPS in terms of text clarity.

    Bought this monitor 2 weeks ago, I loved it but I am facing some gameplay issue while playing AOE 3 DE. The toggle between home city and going back to map just take the camera to somewhere else on the map. The home city icon change its place while toggling between map and deck. Not a monitor issue but definitely some games need update for ultra wide.

    • @TechnologyMindset
      @TechnologyMindset  ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't notice the difference between 120 Hz and 200 Hz on my G9, but I can notice a difference between 130 and 175Hz because response time is so good. On the G9 apparently it takes 10 ms for pixel to change which is basically 100Hz

    • @TechnologyMindset

      This one has the gsync module which would work with Nvidia cards. Do some searching, but the DWF sounds like it has lower refresh rate than the gsync version, maybe a little lower VRR capability, and then a little worse HDR. I don’t have one on hand so do some research.

    It's a good foray, but the tech is too new. I went with the Neo G8. Full 4k, higher pixel per inch, better text clarity, 240hz, 1100 dimming zones, no risk of burn in. 10bit at 240hz. It also doesn't need all the brightness dimming and tricks to avoid burn in.
    Debatable things- Matte screen is better for multi environments (its one of the best mattes), 1000r if you care about that.
    I look forward to something from QD-OLED or something similar if the tech can guarantee no burn in and have the same features as the NEO G8, I believe its at least 2-3 years away, so I will cross that bridge later.
    The QD OLED works better imho if you get a large TV and sit further back, you have the same hassles to deal with but at least with that money you can get a 65" S95B.

    • @TechnologyMindset
      @TechnologyMindset  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice, sounds like a nice panel. I’d like to check one out sometime. I had been interested in the odyssey G9 Neo at one point, but it’s too gigantic for my monitor setup.

    • @hrod9393
      @hrod9393 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechnologyMindset Well, the G9 is lesser than the G8 imo, because it's ultra wide and lower resolution, the pixel gap is wider, there are a few other things. It's of course very pricey. I'd rather try 3 G8s next to each other
      I haven't looked at the specs for the ARK, for 3000.00
      A future G9 OLED could make sense, basically don't have to use all those OLEDs with just a single small window in front.

      @@TechnologyMindset I just looked at it. I'm pleasantly surprised its at least 4k also MiniLED. But at this size and price, I think I would spend much less money on the 65" or smaller QN90B and still have a flat screen TV. It's an interesting oddity though.
      I did see one on exhibit, in vertical profile.I think I'm not sold on curved and wide. I think for immersion I'll stick to VR headset. Of course I'm sure there is someone one there who wants curved large mini led :)
      PS- It has 80 pixel per inch, probably why I wasn't too impressed on the one on exhibit.

    You did a great job with the review!
    i am especially grateful for the info about corks and "problems" you have provided - very useful.
    Can i kindly ask about 12:00 - about "auto warning message" option?
    Is that option completly disables the pop up window for pixel refresh after 4 hours of non stop monitor usage?
    And what is your firmware number - is that M0B-102?

    • @TechnologyMindset
      @TechnologyMindset  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point, I didn't address the firmware as a quirk of the G-SYNC module. Doing research, looks like you can't upgrade firmware of the monitor yourself. The firmware version of mine is MOB-102.
      You are correct, that is an every 4 hour message about doing the refresh. It looks like it's turned on for me, but I haven't seen the message since the first few days of using the monitor.
