    I love your channel! I always learn so much, and your collection and finds are amazing. 🌼 My favorite - the Art Deco blue glass necklace. I love everything about it and other glass necklaces from this era! The gold and diamond ring looks like a wedding band probably from the 40’s or earlier. I have a couple of similar rings. I have heard that wedding rings of this style are typical of WWII time period when expedient marriages were taking place. This was the beginning of the boomer era, after all. These were gold and diamond rings that most young military aged men could afford. The illusion settings often look like flower blossoms, possibly orange blossoms. I haven’t really looked into it, but I think there is some kind of connection with marriage and orange blossom symbology. My Gran’s first wedding band from 1939 was a simple gold band with, as she told me, orange blossoms all the way around it. I have it, and it is super thin from wear. She got another band after WWII, larger and much more substantial 14k yellow gold with small diamonds in a row on top set in white gold also as centers of orange flower blossoms that make the diamonds look bigger. Her last wedding ring upgrade was a two ring set with a typical solitaire 1ct or so diamond engagement ring and a plain wedding band in all white gold, circa late 50’s.

      Thanks a million for watching and for your comments. You're right, that ring could be older -- fersure!! It is definitely a wedding ring that somebody wore for decades and decades. I love the "side" view on it with its high setting and I think it's charming that the diamonds are only chips -- probably two young people who were very in love -- with no money!!!!! Yes! Maybe WWII era! I love thinking about who might have owned some of the these pieces... I appreciate the comments. Much love, Sandra. xo

    11:30 I love that one! We have them in Sweden too and we call dem Sölja or more commonly "Dräktsmycke" which translate to "dress-jewerly", where the dress-part refers to that colorful classic dress (called folkdräkt, translates to "peoples-dress") you showed a picture of. Fun fact - pretty much every single village would have (and still has) their own folkdräkt with their own variations of colors and embroidery :) Greetings from Sweden!

    Hello Sandra. The blue glass necklace with the beveled cubes is gorgeous! So is the pink and clear one. I found a very detailed silver rooster brooch in a $10.00 mixed jewelry bag! The opalescent blue stone ring is lovely. Do you know the name of the "toothed" setting? I have a beautiful pair of blue and clear rhinestone earrings with that setting and the same backing and the stones sparkle like nobody's business! I also love the Western Germany prom necklace, a quality piece. Thanks again for another interesting video and have a peaceful and blessed Easter! Fondly, Veronica💝

    Love your videos...so much information, not to mention all the beautiful jewelry. Two questions: How do you know that the bangle is Victorian? and Was there something imprinted on the lizard pin bar?

    • @TheFunkyPickleThrifter
      @TheFunkyPickleThrifter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all -- thanks for watching! So, the bangle is Victorian based on its theme and feel. I have been collecting Victorian jewelry for a long time! Regarding the lizard pin -- there was a marking that was very worn -- it appears to say "metallic" or something like that. (Wow, you have good eyes that you saw it!) Thanks again for coming to my channel. xo
