    Hi, Sandra! How are you? I enjoy your channel. FYI ... the jewelry at 03:10 is not Middle Eastern. It’s actually the Shriners symbol (i.e., the crescent and scimitar).

    Beautiful finds as always! That really big necklace with the net design from India reminds me of a cabaret style belly dance necklace. Anything big, bold, provocative, and jingly like that from India is likely stage wear. I know belly dancers. LOL

      @@TheFunkyPickleThrifter I don’t really know how to date belly dance jewelry as the designs, metals, and stones are mainly variations on a theme and style of dance. There is some crossover between styles of jewelry and costume.
      I think both of those big necklaces you showed are belly dance, probably more tribal than cabaret style but the silver one could be either. If you do a Google search for belly dance jewelry, you will see a vast array of necklaces. You might try an image search and see what turns up.

    13:50 is definitely 1940’s design it could easily be “modern” -for that time period plastic. Have you tried the hot pin test?

    • @TheFunkyPickleThrifter
      @TheFunkyPickleThrifter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dana, I've never seen plastic so "lumpy" and "gloopy", but you are likely correct. And the black paint is "bubbling" -- it's so weird! I think you're right about the 1940s date, and plastic is really the only thing that makes sense because it has certainly been painted and it is certainly white underneath. I've never done a hot pin test, but this would be a good item to try it on, since it's kind of a "hot mess" already haha! Thanks so much for your input. Hugs. xo

      @TheFunkyPickleThrifter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Research “bog oak” as a possibility for this pin. Wonder about this being mourning jewelry, but not sure if rhinestones were allowed. Looks like a somber piece of jewelry to me…
