I feel like whoever designed this trap is a fan of your channel and you just made their day.
As a NYC resident, these are absolutely the rat trap of choice. There are videos of just buckets and buckets of deceased rodents.
Edit: I've only seen professionals use these, not regular people.
Normal ppl probably wouldn't splurge on this to catch 1-3 mice. Professionals that need to catch 100+ would love this.

@@chasbodaniels1744 The thing I hate most about shorts is that they default to that vertical auto scroll format. It's still possible to view them like normal youtube videos, but it requires manual override, and is a PITA.

I’m glad chipmunks are protected; there are a few of them at our cottage and we feed them peanuts. My dad is there right now!
I enjoy this format better than the shorts. I'm willing to wait a week or more for each video if it means better content.
I looked up the price and at 300-400$ they're pretty expensive, but I guess that just makes sense with the level of engineering that went into this one. Must really be the single best trap you've shown so far (even if it does rely on electricity) what a beautiful machine!
I bet a rodent exterminator would make good money if he just bought one of these and rented them out to people.

@@EgaTehPro It would probably pay for itself after 2-3 customers. Customer pays fee + damage deposit, trap gets left overnight, exterminator collects the trap in the morning and takes care of disposal.
Its very tempting but 300-400$ was way over the budget that i'm willing to spend on rat trap.

Just wanted to say these videos have been entertaining me since the pandemic and it is just oddly entertaining to see mice get trapped.
I'm just imagining the look of ecstasy on the weasel's face if it went in the trap after it filled with mice. Weasel heaven.
Until the mice start biting. A 52vs1 is nigh impossible to win. Even for a weasel.
I normally find quite a bit of evidence of small rodents living in my shed. I usually have chipmunks and mice. However this year there were clearly no rodents. What changed? I can't say for certain, but this winter I accidentally left a cap off of paint thinner jug in the shed. The shed has a slight paint thinner smell. Has anyone else experienced that paint thinner acts as a rodent deterrent. It worked so effectively, I am kind of surprised how easy it was, considering my other efforts with live traps

Gotta love the mice who just watched their comrades fall into the trapdoor walk right up to the bait like they never seen a thing.
I use a solution of salt & water in my bucket traps that live anywhere the liquid could freeze like under my house or in the shed. I mix one of those round cardboard containers of salt with 1 gallon of water. It does seem to help keep the smell down as well, if I can't check the trap frequently.
That big chipmunk was like " oh great havens"😂😂😂😂😂

Lol, something my girlfriend was amazed by (being from NC originally) was just how naturally tame our wildlife is in Oregon. She was talking about the seagulls but i guess its true for rats as well.
It's true for all Oregon wildlife lol. They're just so acclimated to humans. I served with AmeriCorps down past Cottage Grove toward the coast, passed elk herds every few days and no fewer than four separate flocks of turkey on the roads. Deer would come have lunch with us. I think it has to do with the lack of large predators and venomous things. Sure the east side has rattlesnakes, had a few run ins with them, but on the west the worst are bullsnakea and the few I handled near sidewalks were ultra chill, like they were used to us... which is probably why they felt safe sunbathing on the sidewalks come to think of it...

Unfortunately, the YT managers expect all channels to product a part in shorts, or they start affecting your view counts. So I make sure to hit likes on both formats because I want my fav channels to stay.
Shawn, the 50 mice: how many days did it take to catch them?
What happened to the ones who didn't get released? Was there a feast at the beaver dam?
We had a huge feast at the beaver dam. TH-cam has really cracked down on my videos so I decided to not show dead mice. TH-cam even recently flagged my yellow jacket videos as violent content. It is hard to believe you can't even do pest control videos showing the killing of dangerous insects.

I’ve reported some of those channels that torture live mice with electricity and they never got penalised so go figger 🤷🏼♀️

from my limited knowledge I'd say trap them live and check beforehand if there's a good rodent that got caught then act accordingly.
I wonder if combining this and the living "bait rat" traps would make it more effective
I think that you said it was "electro-mechanical". Does it have batteries? Do they run out like a clock or only when the trap is activated?

Mousetrap MONDAYS are back!
I have a trap in my attic that is just a bucket with food in it, and it catches like 3 or 4 mice a day. no moving parts, just a big tall bucket with peanut butter on the bottom.
Nice that there was a hinge so the rotating floor did not squeeze the tails when closing after the rotation.
Amazing results.
