Exactly. Work all working mechanisms for a few minutes. Then lube all working mechanisms using motor oil.
just gotta be careful on what kind of oil, don't want to repel the mice

If the trap was 50% bigger, the tail wouldn't get caught in the door and there'll be more room for a robust mechanism and additional mice. Nice demo!

I'm surprised you didn't put some kind of anchor on that thing to keep a pack rat from running off with it.
When I saw you placed the board on top, I thought a brick would be better. The mouse did escape, but your idea of the neodymium magnets was much better. I always find your videos interesting.

One that isn't so squeamish about ordinary and normal activities? If you do let me know. I designed a rat/mouse trap that I think is clever and kills the rodent in less than two seconds, unlike the socially acceptable snap traps which leave them alive for up to minutes. When TH-cam stopped showing anything I stopped working on the prototype. I should finish it and bring it down. I live just north of you in Western Washington.

Unlikely. This naming scheme is probably a file name, its the same kind of scheme I use when exporting different edits of a video until I get a "final" version.
This is probably his exporting title, not the working title of the video. He just hasnt edited it yet.
any video editor will know this naming scheme immediately. We all do it.

That's cool that you don't want to kill the native species, but the Deer Mouse is not endangered, AND they are a source of the explosion in Ticks. When there are plenty of predators, the mice get eaten and the number of Ticks goes down. If there aren't enough predators to kill the mice, the Ticks go up. Go ahead and dispatch the mouse. Take the place of the missing predators and stop the over-population of Ticks.
